Solved: Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 1.0 Refresh Install = Error Code 2908

UPDATE:: I managed to fix the problem by renaming mscoree.dll in the system32 folder, installing the XNA Framework, and then changing mscoree.dll back to its original state. The game runs just fine now.

not able to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 : x86 ????? (KB928416

How do I find out if .net framework 1.0 is installed on my OS. I have Windows home edition XP version 5.1 2002 32 bit service pack 2 which has been updated to service pack 3 as part of the windows update i was not able to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 : x86 ????? (KB928416). Microsoft Windows Update Support Service sent me this message "if the uninstalled program is not only relative to the NET Framework 3.0 [KB928416], but also relative to the program of .NET Framework 1.0, ignore steps 1 and 2." The uninstalled program is NET Framework 3.0 [KB928416]. Question: How do I find out if  the uninstalled program is relative to .NET Framework 1.0? If I can find this out, then i will know whether to ignore steps 1 and 2.

Microsoft.NET version 3.0 Install Error: Installation failed for Windows Communication Foundation. M

Please help! I've been trying for the last day and a half to properly install Microsoft.NET version 3.5 so that I can install TurboTax and do my taxes. I was only on version 1.1. Multiple tries to upgrade to 3.5 was giving me a code 1603 error on install on "Microsoft.NET version 2.0a". I followed advice from forums here and elsewhere to uninstall and reinstall my prior versions. I also used Windows Install Cleanup before reinstalling. I keep getting to the same result when I try to go from version 2.0 to version 3.5. In my last attempt, I went all the way back to version 1.0 and installed each step up to 2.0 SP1 with (allegedly) no problems. This last time I decided to upgrade to 3.0 instead of going right to 3.5. Now I get the following error message: [04/03/10,04:07:14] Windows Communication Foundation: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Windows Communication Foundation. .Net Framework 2.0 SP1 fails to install with Error 0x641

We have a SBS 2003 server that has automatically installed updates just fine for several years.  Now it is failing to install Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (KB110806).  The only error that I can find is Error Code: 0x641The server's C: drive has 5.2 GB free and the other hard drive (D:) has 61 GB free.  It has 2 GB of RAM and a 3GB paging file.I posted this in Microsoft's "Windows Update Newsgroup" and I was told to come here.  I was told to download the collect.exe file to collect the .NET logs, but when I run that, I get the error "No log file exists."I would appreciate your help.

Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 not started error in server logs.

Not sure what the correct etiquit is for this. The thread I asked my question in last Friday was previously closed by a moderator, and I suspect that is why it's not getting answered.  Since I posted, there have been enough other people with the same issue posting to push it into the popular thread list. So I'm starting a new thread.  (Not sure what would be a better procedure.) Original thread is here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netfxsetup/thread/4cb39c00-b038-45b2-bf38-2016a906570e Here was my question: This service was installed in a recent auto update on my SBS 2003 server and it was installed with automatic startup.  But it just starts up and shuts right back down.  The same occurs on my XP dev machines. Because of that my daily server report is showing: Auto-started Services Not Running Service Name Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 Total auto-started services not running: 1 In normal conditions, these services should be running. For details, it is recommended that you review errors in the Event log related to the service.   It's a annoyance to have that in the daily server reports.  (I want to see all green items) Since starting up and immediately shutting down, appears to be the normal behavior for this service. (That's also what it does on XP. And the .net 4 full installation verifies as being
