Hi, I am using WCF services in my project and want to call WCF methods asynchronously. I am hosting WCF service programmatically in windows app as follows svc = New ServiceHost(GetType(Service1), New Uri("net.tcp://localhost:8806/")) Dim svcMDB As New ServiceMetadataBehavior svc.Description.Behaviors.Add(svcMDB) svc.AddServiceEndpoint(GetType(Service1), New NetTcpBinding(), "MyBusiness/MyBusinessService/") svc.AddServiceEndpoint(ServiceMetadataBehavior.MexContractName, MetadataExchangeBindings.CreateMexTcpBinding(), "MyBusiness/MyBusinessService/mex") svc.Open() Me.Text = "Service started...." and I am generating client side proxy using svcutil.exe as follows. svcutil /n:net.tcp://localhost:8806/MyBusiness/MyBusinessService,MyService net.tcp://localhost:8806/MyBusiness/MyBusinessService/mex /a /language:vb   The result of this command is as :   Microsoft (R) Service Model Metadata Tool [Microsoft (R) Windows (R) Communication Foundation, Version 3.0.4506.2152] Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved.   Attempting to download metadata from 'net.tcp://localhost:8806/MyBusiness/MyBusi nessService/mex' using WS-Metadata Exchange. This URL does not support DISCO. Generating files... D:\Prabodh\New C2k\Test Projects\DataTableToArray\MyHost\bin\Debug\MyBusinessSer vice.vb D:

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.

Use jQuery and ASP.NET AJAX to build a client side Repeater

By sending only data to the client, you can profoundly reduce the size of what you send and see a substantial increase in performance. You also allow yourself the ability to easily add features like light-weight sorting and paging on the client. This can not only improve your users' experience, but reduce server load and bandwidth requirements.

To that end, I'm going to walk you through these four steps to effectively implementing a client side Repeater, using ASP.NET AJAX and jQuery:

Adding Client-Side Confirmation When Deleting

The JavaScript confirm(string) function displays its string input parameter as the text inside a modal dialog box that comes equipped with two buttons - OK and Cancel (see Figure 1). The confirm(string) function returns a Boolean value depending on what button is clicked (true, if the user clicks OK, and false if they click Cancel).
