Does anyone know if the Site Collection Usage Report includes activity that occurs from Outlook? For example, if a user contributes to a discussion board without ever physically touching the site or if the user just reads list content from Outlook,
is this included?
ANY help at all is greatly appreciated.
Microsoft provided 3 example reports for Sharepoint report usage. Does anyone know where they are located? I used them about 2 years ago.
I have a site, in a site collection (obviously) using MOSS2007. The usage reports are very low. Yesterday it claims only two users visited. Seeing that this site has the "Daily Dilbert" I was sure that this was wrong.
A quick look at yesterday's log file shows shed loads - I got up to 20 users before getting half way through the file. Many of those users don't show on th user list either.
All the settings look OK - something is obviusly being registered - the Landing Page (the one with the Dilbert) has some hits against it - just not nearly as many as the hard logs say.
It means I have lost confidence in the usage reports across the site collection now!
When I go to ANY database (System, AdventureWorks*, user) in Managemant Studio, I right-click on the db, select Reports, select Standard Reports, and select Disk Usage. The disk usage report shows the correct db on top, but always only shows AdventureWorks_Data.mdf
when I expand Disk Space Used by Data Files section. This happens to any db I try. When I look at Database Properties/Files for that database, the logical and physical file names are correct.
Since the correct files appear in Database Properties/Files, I'm hoping it's just a bug in the report. Same thing happens if I run a Disk Usage by Table report for ANY database, The tables for AdventureWorks always only appear,
I am trying to use a wildcard in a Filter condition within a SSRS - Report Builder report.ÃÂ
Are wildcards of anytime in fact allowed in this tool?ÃÂ I get errors when I try to use SQL-like wildcards such as '%'.ÃÂ I've also been unable to find any mention of "wildcards" in HELP.
Please help as soon as possible.ÃÂ THANKS!
My company recently built out a 2008R2 instance of Reporting Services (no sharepoint integration). Previously we used 2005 and did not use report builder. As the functionality around 3.0 report builder is much greater I'd like to roll it out
to end users. I'm interested in your experiences in rolling out the tool at your own company. Here are some questions
1. Do you only allow users to create reports and store them in their user folders?
2. Do you allow users to create dataset / shared data sources, etc.? Subscriptions? Snapshots?
3. How did you approach sharing of reports within a department? For instance, if members of the finance department are creating reports, do you allow them to publish the reports in a shared locations for other finance employee to see?
My concern revolves around having a process in place by which users can publish reports to a wider audience. I've considered assigning and training a department 'super user' who would filter reports that would go to a 'production' folder.
Or perhaps this should be a member of IT? Security of sensitive data is also an issue. I'd like to guard against an end user being able to open up sensitive info to anyone they choose.
In my Portal i have MySites some where around 15000 where in every day i need to auto generate MySites usage report in excel format.
Can some one please help me out how to acheive the same using Sharepoint Object Model.
I have a requirement like I need one report which will provides the MySite Usage Report

Please let me know any solution or thoughts either using content database queries or object model.
in one of our SiteCollections we cannot start den Usage Report. It says "Server Out of Memory". We have lot of SiteCollections and it happens only in this one. Fyi: We have 16GB RAM.
Any Ideas? Thanks alot..
We are using SharePoint 2007, after migrating all SharePoint datbases to anotehr SQL Server 2005 using AvePoint DocAve, the Site Usage Report stopped displaying data. Message displayed as below:
“No data is available for this report. Usage analysis might have been enabled only recently, or there might have been insufficient
usage to result in any values for the report.”
The Usage Reporting is configured as specified in
Any idea on how we can fix the usage report?
Thanks & Regards,
I want to add a doument's link(doc, pdf) in Site Usage Report... How to add document's url in destination page section, so that I can see the number of access of that particular document.
is there a way to make the first column of a report use the an alternating background color?
I have the background color set for the entire row however it does not work for the first column if the color is set to an expression. If I just set it to a color i.e. red it works just fine. If I insert a dummy column to the left it works just fine (but the dummy column does not work, presumably because it is first??).
In the file below only the textbox for part number does not show an alternating background. All others work correctly.
<TableRows> <TableRow> <TableCells> <TableCell> <ReportItems> <Textbox Name="PartNumber"> <rd:DefaultName>PartNumber</rd:DefaultName>
I have an application that does LDAP authentication. The authentication is done on the code behind page of my Login.aspx page. Once the user passes LDAP authentication, a cookie is set and I redirect:
I would like to setup membership in my application and keep track of some user information. But due to company security requirements, I cannot store user passwords on my application. That must stay on the LDAP server only.
Is there a way to store users but disable password storage on the aspnet_membership table?
I downloaded report viewer 2010 from here
Now I want to actually use it in a website. How do I do that? Do I have to modify some part of web.config? Specifically, what do I need to change?
