I'm trying to install SQL 2008, but an error message keeps appearing: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installation has failed. SQL Server 2008 Setup requires .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed.   My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, so already has de .NET Framework 3.5, I turned on/off a lot of times and the same error occurs! I download the .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 from the links: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&displaylang=en http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en) But, when installing the Framework 3.5 or the SP1, I get the message: "Use turn on or off disable features in Windows control panel".   Someone can help me?! - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits - SQL Server 2008 Developer (x86, x64, ia64).   Thanks! Sharepoint 2003 + Windows Terminal Server 2008 + Office 2007 problem?

Hi, We have a customer where some users runs Windows Terminal Server 2008 with Office 2007. They open documents from a Sharepoint 2003 site. When they open an excel sheet they get a button in the document which says "Server workbook: Click edit workbook to edit this workbook" and there is a button: "edit workbook" The users clicks "edit workbook" but get an error message saying there is no connection to the server.  They are able to edit the document, but not save it back to the sharepoint site. Most other users work on their local computer with Office 2003. Here, everything works fine and there are no button/message stating its a server workbook.   Is this caused due to some compatability issues between Sharepoint 2003 and Office 2007?   Best regards, Thomas Hansen ErgoGroup AS

SQL Server 2008 Installation on SBS 2003 - Rule "Operating system supported for edition" failed

I'm trying to install SQL Server 2008 for Small Business, on a Windows Server 2003 SBS, which is a Domain Controller on a less than 50 users ' domain. I'm logged in with the Administrator account, wich belongs to the 'Doman admins' group also. Setup failed with this error:

Visual Web Developer 2010 Express - installation on Windows Server 2008

Hi,

We are trying to install VWD 2010 on a windows 2008 server. We already have installed the 2008 version as well as SQL 2005, 2008 and 2008 R2. The Web Platform installer is not installing VWD 2010 however.

At first it notified us that the OS does not allow it, after running tons of updates on the OS (some of which failed) it is still not doing it, not even donwloading it. The latest message simply asked us to post the error on the forum.

Has anybody had similar experiences? If so, how was it solved?

Cheers,

D

Hello we have a WSS 3.0 on a Windows Server 2003 with a single site, and we are trying to migrate it to another server with Windows Server 2008. All database are on a Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

We installed WSS 3.0 from scratch on the new server. We put the default databases on a server with Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

Then we made a backup in the production server with the following command: stsadm -o backup -url https://portal -filename musa.bak

(portal is the name of the old server and uymvd18 is the name of the new one)

Everything worked ok, but the when we try to do a search in the new se

SQL server 2005 SP3 installation on windows server 2008 64 bit

Hi Guys, I was using SQL server 2008 64 bit with my application on windows server 2008 64 bit and all was working fine; then i decided to test SQL server 2005 SP3 64 bit to install on server 2008 64 bit, for this i first uninstalled SQL server 2008 64 bit and then downloaded the SQL server 2005 SP3 from the following address:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=ae7387c3-348c-4faa-8ae5-949fdfbe59c4

and after downloading this exe i started the installation and as soon the installation started i got the following display message that:

"this machine does not have the product that matches this installation package"

The link from where i have downloaded the SQL server 2005 SP3 64 bit file says that ti supports windows server 2008. I am using windows server 2008 Enterprise 64 bit having .NET framework 3.5SP1..

SQL 2008 R2 Cluster unattended setup on Windows Server 2003

All the Docs on setup parameters state that the default for FILESTREAMLEVEL is 0 (filestream disabled) however whether it is defaulted or supplied as 0 the setup fails during installation because KB937444 is not applied to W2K3. Presumably this is because even if the filestream is disabled the software is still installed. But if this is a Pre Requisite why is this not validated at the start??
