I have .Net 1.1  Application that works fine with the same dll, after redesigning application to 2.o Framework I have this error, I tried to compile it with /MT (this is C++ project in ANSI C, planned to be working on different platforms), but had no luck. Even tryed to make dummy dll  with function doing nothing - still didn't work. What can be problem and how to fix it?

Config Manager gives error "The specified module could not be found. [0x8007007e]"

I've been using SQL Server 2008 Express Edition on my development pc for several months now.  It has recently started giving me an error when I attempt to run the SQL Server Configuration Manager  (SQLServerManager10.msc).  I have uninstalled completely and reinstalled twice which has not solved the problem.  I can run the Management Studio just fine and everything works, I just can't run the Configuration Manager which is an issue.

Full error message is as follows:

Cannot connect to WMI provider.  You do not have permission or the server is unreachable.  Note that you can only manage SQL Server 2005 and later servers with SQL Server Configuration Manager.
The specified module could not be found. [0x8007007e]

I have tried the workaround listed here: https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/Workaround.aspx?FeedbackID=443459 however I did not have a sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof file in my local install.  I copied the one from my production installation and ran the mofcomp.exe program successfully but it did not solve the issue.

Weird Exception: Method not found: 'Double System.Windows.Controls.ScrollViewer.get_ContentHorizon

Hi guys I have an XBAP application that uses a Xamdatagrid from Infragistics. I have some filtering on this grid, that rebinds after a filter. The problem is, when a user has scrolled to a certain point and then filters, the rebinding causes the grid to scroll to the beginning position of the grid. Now how I solve this is by getting an instance of the ScrollViewer, I get the ScrollViewer.ContentHorizontalOffset and then I do a ScrollViewer.ScrollToHorizontalOffset after it filters.   Now here comes the problem. For 99% of the users of this xbap app, this will work absolutely fine. Most, if not all of the users run exactly the same machines, XP 64 bit with 8GB RAM. The other 1% get the error: Method not found: 'Double System.Windows.Controls.ScrollViewer.get_ContentHorizontalOffset()'. I cannot reproduce this error on my own box, our dev server or our production server, it is a phantom exception that only pops up on a certain condition. I have even wrapped the "offending" code in a try catch and it still doesn't solve it. If I set the DispatcherUnhandledExceptionArgs Handled to true, it works, but it doesn't feel right. How is this possible? If the method doesn't exist, how can it compile? Why does that method exist for 99% of the other users running the exact same machines? I have googled my fingers raw without any valid results and this issue is frustrat

Operation aborted (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004004 (E_ABORT))

We are current users of WSS 3.0 SP1 (MS SQL Server 2005 w/SQL Server Configuration Manager & SQL Server Management Studio Express) and are having issues with the following error occurring quite frequently when we visit pages on our SharePoint site.

Operation aborted (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004004 (E_ABORT))

Our research keeps brining up that the log files are getting large and are not being cleared. We are doing a Full Backup of our SharePoint Farm with BackupExec 11d so we are not understanding how to fix this. Does anyone have any suggestions...

Thanks in advance.

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSD

Error:

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))

 at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPGlobal.HandleUnauthorizedAccessException(UnauthorizedAccessException ex)

Resolution Steps (there could be various causes for this error but this solution worked for me):

- Run Administrative Tools > Sharepoint Central Administration

- Go to Application Management > Sharepoint Site Management > Site Collection Administrations

- Check if your name (the person configuring sharepoint) is primary or secondary administration

Exception: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

I have two small programs that I wrote in C# that are basically just executing calls to cuteFTP Pro 8 (a scriptable FTP client).

Program #1: needs to connect to a remote server using standard FTP protocol.  This program works fine whether I run it or schedule it through the Windows Task Scheduler (Server 2003 Standard).

Program #2:  needs to connect to a remote server using FTPS_IMPLICIT or FTPS, I've tried using either of these two protocols and the same result is produced.

If I run Program #2 on my user account while logged in to the server it works correctly, however if I schedule it through Windows Task Scheduler (in exactly the same fashion as Program #1) I get the COM error that I put in the thread title.  A stack trace shows that it happens

at ftpteLib.TEConnectionClass.Connect()

which is one of the cuteFTP methods.  For the sake of isolating the problem I removed most of the functional code in Program#1 and Program #2 so taht they are identical other than the fact that one connects to a remote server needing FTP and the other to one needing FTPS or FTPS_IMPLICIT.

Is there anything I can do to correct this?

" is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1)"

I'm attempting to migrate an ASP.NET application from .NET 1.1 to 2.0 (and I'm also moving the development platform from VS.NET 2003 to VS.NET 2005). After some modification the application builds cleanly on the new platform but when I attempt to run in debug mode I see the error shown below. I'm building on a new WinXP-64 machine (AMD Athlon 64 CPU).

If I change the target platform to "x86" in the solution properties, I can't build the app (hundreds of unresolved dependencies).

Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?

Many thanks
