Personalization is growing to be more and more of an essential ingredient in many types of Web apps, including portals and shopping sites. Without it, it's quite difficult to serve your customers efficiently.

I have created a custom user property, and created metadata property and added mapping to it, still i m not able to Search in People,Please advise
I have created an InfoPath 2007 form. It works great.. I have 5 data connections to sharepoint lists and profile's database. The form displays public data (profile database) about the user, such as name, manager.. etc.
What I would like to do is have an option on the form that says " If you are not this person , click here" , manually type the persons last name , and bring up their information.
Basically , there are some people who will have someone else fill the form out for them. But I don't want them to be giving out their username and password to the system.
I want the ability to fill out a form as another user without logging off sharepoint.
HI I have a database table which has three columns "username", "certificate" and "date_objected". One employee have multiple certificates.
in the User Profiles I want to mapped with username and display all certifcates that this employee have.
Anyone have any suggestions/samples on how to do this? I was able to display one-to-one fields but I am stuck with one employee to display multiple rows.
Any good samples out there?
This seems to be a bug when the crawler search the user profiles in MOSS 2007. When crawled, user profiles with a SPS-HireDate in the months of January, April, August and December will be detected, but a full-text (SQL) search returns those profiles
without the HireDate field.
User profiles with HireDates in other months work correctly, returning the HireDate in the search. And changing the month of a problematic user profile also fixes the problem.
This problem is also reflected in the fact that while we have 499 user profiles using the SPS-HireDate property, the managed property page from the search section only has 350 items with the HireDate property.
We're running MOSS 2007 32bit with SP2 with an English language base and the Spanish language pack. I'd considered date format problems, but I can't imagine how some months would work, while others wouldn't.
We have a problem which is kinda explained in this article:
We have company portal MOSS 2007 based, and a HR database (not sql server based) which has all employee data. Right now this data is manually typed into Active directory when new employee is hired, then it gets imported into MOSS (automatical import).
We would like, for example, to import birth date, which has no field for in AD, directly from HR, and we also would like to import other fields from HR database. I can write custom web services in the HR base to give out this data.
I tried to read the article above but i understood nothing. Author tells to write some xml but i dont understand where do i put that xml. And it seems that he is importing from SQL server database but in my case it will be an xml output of a web service!
There is also an article by the author about writing custom code here
