SQL and Outlook: Enable Database Access and Updates Through Exchange and Any E-mail Client

Using Microsoft technologies, you can insert, edit, query, and delete database entries using any e-mail client such as Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or even WAP phone. While e-mail is certainly a powerful and widely used tool, it is usually not integrated with an application for performing any tasks other than sending reminders. The application scenario described here, an e-mail-based SQL update program, uses a simple data model; however, this solution will apply to any data model that you are working with. It will also eliminate the need for complex n-tier Internet applications and serves as a low maintenance solution for providing data access.

WinInet: Enable HTTP Communication in Windows-Based Client Applications

The Internet provides the infrastructure for applications to communicate, and that can include non-UI communication between Win32-based applications. If you think beyond the standard browser usage of HTTP, you can use this protocol to retrieve information from Win32-based applications and save it to a Web server. After explaining how HTTP can be used in this way, this article shows how to use Microsoft SQL Server, ASP, IIS, WinInet, and Visual Basic to implement two examples. The first reports usage data-how often an application is used and by whom. The second monitors application errors and reports error details for use by helpdesk staff or engineers in the debugging process.

How to enable Mixed authentication for single webapplication in sharepoint 2007?

Hi All,

I have requiremnt to enable Mixed mode ( Windows & Forms Based) authentication on Single web application( with out extending). I have done it in Sharepoint server 2010, It is so simple also. But my requirement is on Moss 2007. I have found some Post and gone through Those posts, in those posts, all are suggesting to extend the default webapllication and enabling forms authentication on extending/Default application another one is on Wondows authentication.

Is it way to suggest the client or any other alternative to enable the mixed mode authentication?

WCF MTOM Client calling Java Webservice - Issues with File attachment Content ID encoded in SOAP mes

Hello,I'm having difficulty calling a MTOM enabled Java based web service that accepts an file as input..NET appeats to be generating a SOAP message where the reference to the binary part of the message is an encoded url.For Example:  <inc:Include href="cid:http%3A%2F%2Ftempuri.org%2F1%2F634000265217257868" xmlns:inc="http://www.w3.org/2004/08/xop/include"/>In fact, the Content ID defined in the SOAP message, looks nothing like the actual Content ID of the actual message part.Content-ID: <http://tempuri.org/1/634000265217257868=2787915398744@soapui.org>The service is invoked and executed on the java webserver...but the data element appears to be null.I do not believe the java web server understands the reference in the SOAP message because it is encoded....Or...perhaps it's because the Content-ID attribute has extract stuff on it.I'm working with a custom MTOM encoder in WCF....is there a way to generate your own Content ID or tell .NET not to encode the url?My frustration with .NET has reached an all new level with this project...Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here the SOAP message that is being generated:<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:ns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/messaging/200901" xmlns:ns1="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/core/200901&q

Client Integration feature not working in MOSS 2010

Hi,

We have installed Moss 2010 and integrated with ADFS 2.0 and CA SiteMinder. We have created a new website and enabled Client integration feature in MOSS 2010. But, the client integration feature doesnt work in MOSS 2010. We can successfully authenticate each IdP and can login to website. However, when we access any document from sharepoint, it asks for user authentication second time. Previously, we had configured the website same way but we were not getting the issue. But, now we are getting this issue when we access any document from sharepoint.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Pravin

MTOM client get byte[] not stream from Streaming MTOM service.

I have a Java Metro 1.2 SOAP Service that is using Streaming MTOM. In my client, when I import the service, I always get a byte[]. How do I go about get a Stream instead of a byte[].

I know my service is working streamed because I have a Java client using the streaming. Also when my .Net client calls and gets the byte array, I can see that my service is actually streaming the file to my client. Is there something weird I have to do to wrapper service response to convert it to a stream or read it as if it were a stream?

How Do I Enable Inline GridView Editing?

Now that you have created a site with Edit and Details views, how do you enable inline editing in a GridView control? This video shows you how, and also touches on routing.

Use jQuery and ASP.NET AJAX to build a client side Repeater

By sending only data to the client, you can profoundly reduce the size of what you send and see a substantial increase in performance. You also allow yourself the ability to easily add features like light-weight sorting and paging on the client. This can not only improve your users' experience, but reduce server load and bandwidth requirements.

Client Side Gridview Pagination using JQuery

I would like to show how to use Client Side Gridview Pagination using Jquery Table Pagination Plugin by using Ryan Zielke.

This can not only improve your users' experience, but reduce server load and bandwidth requirements.

To that end, I'm going to walk you through these four steps to effectively implementing a client side Repeater, using ASP.NET AJAX and jQuery:

Practical Multithreading for Client Apps

Writing applications that use multiple threads is often considered an advanced programming task, prone to errors. In this month's column, I'll focus on a practical application of multithreading in Windows® Forms applications with some real benefits, while attempting to keep things simple. My goal is to present multithreading in an approachable way that addresses a very common need: writing applications with a user interface that remain responsive to the user.

Using SharePoint Search feature in ASP.Net Application

Integrating ASP.Net application in to MOSS 2007 to utilize SharePoint Enterprise Search Feature can be done by using Business Data Search.

Adding Client-Side Confirmation When Deleting

The JavaScript confirm(string) function displays its string input parameter as the text inside a modal dialog box that comes equipped with two buttons - OK and Cancel (see Figure 1). The confirm(string) function returns a Boolean value depending on what button is clicked (true, if the user clicks OK, and false if they click Cancel).

want to execute url without showing that page or url to client.

hello friends,

I need ur help, what i want to do is to execute a url ("To send a text message to client") on client registration but without showing that url page, in short executing url without displaying any page or url to the client.

please help and thanks in advance.

Gridview Enable Selection Problem

Hi,

I have a gridview with Enable selection and Enable Paging equals to TRUE.

I also set the PageSize of my gridview to 4 so that I only displays 4 rows per page.

The problem is when I click the pager in the bottom of my gridview, my gridview is disappearing and no records appear.

Here is code behind of my gridview:

If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow Then
                e.Row.Attributes("style") = "cursor:pointer"

                e.Row.Cells(2).Attributes.Add("onclick", Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(sender, "Select$" & e.Row.RowIndex.ToString))
                e.Row.Cells(3).Attributes.Add("onclick", Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(sender, "Select$" & e.Row.RowIndex.ToString))
                e.Row.Cells(4).Attributes.Add("onclick", Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(sender, "Select$" & e.Row.RowIndex.ToString))
                e.Row.Cells(5).Attributes.Add("onclick", Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(sender, "Select$" & e.Row.RowIndex.ToString))
                e.Row.Cells(6).Attributes.Add("onclick", Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(sender, "Select$" & e.Row.RowIndex.ToString))
