MS Message Queueing (MSMQ) 4.0 - Slow HTTP delivery

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 12, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF
I've sent 1000 messages with a simple 20 character string as the body using DIRECT:FORMAT=HTTP://mydomain.com/msmq/private$/myqueue   The outbound queue currently sends batches of about 20-30 messages then pauses for 5 minutes before sending another 20-30.   The outbound message queue is on ADSL and the receiving queue is on a 100Mb internet connection in co-location.   Has anyone else encountered such slow send speeds? Any clues or hints on how to speed this up?

MS Message Queueing 4.0 HTTP Support - 500 Internal Server Error

Hi all,   I've been trying to set up MSMQ 4.0 with HTTP Support to allow one of our partners to send messages to us. However, whenever I make any call to the msmq page I get an internal server error 500 (See below). My platform is Windows 2008 SE (64-bit) running as a DC (though MSMQ is running in workgroup mode).   Any hints on what might be causing this or how I can investigate further? Are there any log files for the ISAPI extension, or the MQISE.dll, or the MSMQ service that might help me shed light on this problem?   I've seen blogs about an issue with MSMQ 3.0 where the machine name can't be 15 characters long, is this still the case with MSMQ 4.0?   The error details are as below,     Server Error in Application "WWW.MYDOMAIN.COM/MSMQ" Internet Information Services 7.0 HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, so it cannot be displayed. Detailed Error Information  Module IsapiModule Notification ExecuteRequestHandler Handler AboMapperCustom-113521 Error Code 0x8007007e Requested URL http://www.mydomain.com:80/msmq Physical Path c:\inetpub\www.mydomain.com\msmq Logon Method Anonymous Logon User Anonymous The path to the ISAPI Filter is incorrect. MSMQ and .NET: Send MSMQ Messages Securely Across the Internet with HTTP and SOAP

When creating a distributed system you frequently need to provide for communication between two entities that are not in sync. Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ) provides the kind of store-and-forward messaging in a pre-built infrastructure that can help you address these kinds of messaging needs. In the past, MSMQ was accessed using a COM wrapper. Now there's a .NET wrapper that lets you accomplish your messaging goals easily from your Framework-based code. To illustrate the use of the wrapper, the author builds a messaging application, sends MSMQ messages over the Web, and discusses messaging security.

MSMQ Remote Queueing

Hi All, My application is about message queuing. I have a problem checking the existence of a queue in the public/private queue in the remote server (win2003), my client is running Vista Business. I already set full control to everyone, etc in the message queueing in the server. Client is in the server's domain. Here's the code public MessageQueue(string queuePath, bool transactional)         {             try             {                 this.queuePath = queuePath;                 queue = new System.Messaging.MessageQueue(queuePath);  //UnsupportedFormatNameException in this line                 if (!(System.Messaging.MessageQueue.Exists(queue.Path)))                     System.Messaging.MessageQueue.Create(queue.Path, transactional);                               &nbs

Receiving a message that was sent using HTTP POST

Hello helpers,   I'm somewhere between a beginner and intermediate asp.net and c# user who is looking to receive a message/variable and then URL decode it. The message is being sent via HTTP post. I'm not sure exactly how to get started, and am looking for a tutorial but haven't been able to find one. Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some sample code to learn from? Thank you for your time

Can a HTTP client recieve MSMQ messages from a queue?

Thats the question. I see examples on sending messages via HTTP but how do I get messages via HTTP from a queue.

If it supports getting messages via HTTP is it a normal get HTTP request that would be blocked by a firewall or ??

WCF Service is hosted in IIS7 my IIS7 server is configured in a load balancer environment.

This application was released to production and running successfully for all clients as of.

But one of my new client is facing problem and getting the following error "There was no endpoint listening at <http://app.domain.com/api.svc.> that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. "

This issue is not coming for any other clients except this new client.

WCF with MSMQ process message out of order

I have a WCF windows service that listens on a MSMQ queue, and processes the messages that arrives

I have set the following properties for the MSMQ WCF channel:
    - ReceiveRetryCount = 5
    - MaxRetryCycles = 0 (To disable the retry queue on Vista/Win7/Win2008)
    - ExactlyOnce = true (Because the queue is transactional)
    - ReceiveErrorHandling = Drop (Because after 5 retries it should be discarded)

I have configured the contract method to have TransactionScopeRequired = true, so it automatically starts a new transaction for each message processed.

When a message fails to be processed, then I throw an exception which causes the transaction to be aborted, and retried again right away.

But if there are multiple messages on the MSMQ queue, and I abort the first message then I get the following message on the queue as the next message. Eventhough the abort should have put the first message back in its place.

When I check MsmqMessageProperty.AbortCount then it is properly incremented, and if the following message also aborts, then I get the first message again in the following transaction.

How do I configure MSMQ WCF so if I abort a transaction, then the next message I process will be the message from the just aborted transaction?

ASP.NET Architecture - ASP.NET Worker Process - HTTP Pipleline - Http Modules and Handlers

"ASP.NET is a powerful platform for building Web applications, that provides a tremendous amount of flexibility and power for building just about any kind of Web application. Most people are familiar only with the high level frameworks like WebForms and WebServices which sit at the very top level of the ASP.NET hierarchy. In this article I'll describe the lower level aspects of ASP.NET and explain how requests move from Web Server to the ASP.NET runtime and then through the ASP.NET Http Pipeline to process requests.

Writing Http Handlers and Modules in IIS 7.5

This article describes how Http modules and handlers are to be written and configured in IIS 7.5. The concept of a handler and module remains same, so dose there programming model. In this section we start off with the concept of a Http module and a Http handler, then talk about how to code them and finally describe the two methods available to configure them.

Response.Redirect slow

I'm in the middle of migrating servers and on the new server Response.Redirect is extremely slow. It takes around 20 seconds for the browser to get the redirect. This is something that was quick on the existing server. It's an ASP.NET 2.0 application, both servers are running IIS6.

Additionally, if I "manually" do the redirect, it's fast. For example:

Existing way:

takes around 20 seconds on the new server

New way:

Response.Status = "302 Moved Temporarily";
Response.AddHeader("Location", url);

is fast on the new server.

Any ideas why Response.Redirect would be so slow on the new server?

Inserting personal error message in ValidationSummary

I am creating a web form that requires a lot of validation. I use many of the validation control in asp.net already like RequiredFieldValidator and CompareValidator.

My Problem: after my custom validation for the value entered return an error message, and I pressed enter key when the field is empty, my custom error message is overlapped by my ValidationSummary.

Setting my custom error to visible = false on button click also does not seem to work as it requires for me to enter the value first.

This made me think, is there a way to insert my custom validation inside the ValidationSummary as an error message like for other validation control?

Thanks in advance

UpdatePanel is not a known element - message when upgrading to 1.0 ajax

It worked on one of my old pages.  I change the web.config, renamed all the <asp.

On some aspx page it doesn't recognize the updatepanel.  It only does on one page.  If I create a new aspx page with a different name - then it works.

Should I just create a new web project ajax - then copy all my code into there?  Or is there a way to get those old pages to recognize the new ajax controls?
