Distorted display of WPF controls

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 12, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

Hi On an application developed using WPF while running in hw accelerated mode, certain controls do not appear properly in certain devices. Same application works fine if the rendering mode is forced to software. However, the rendering tier is 2 and by default it goes to hw mode of rendering in WPF It does not work fine with the system with following specification: Display:: Device name: Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 500 Manufacturer: Intel Corporation Chip Type: Intel (R)GMA 500 Graphics Controller DAC Type: Internal LVDS, External SDVO Approx Total Memory : 251 MB Current Display Mode : 1024 x 576 (32 Bit) ( 60Hz) Monitor : Generic PnP Monitor Drivers:: Main Driver: igdumd32.dll Version: 8.14.10.2011 WHQL Logo'd : Yes Driver Model : WDDM 1.0 DirectX Features:: DirectDraw acceleration - enabled Direct3D Acceleration : Enabled AGP Texture Acceleration :Enabled Could you let me know if it has anything to do with the graphics card configuration. If so, what is the parameter that has to be checked before forcing it to software mode of WPF rendering? Thanks in advance.

Hiding Controls for being able to display tooltip on Desktop

Hi, I am creating an aplication using a form and I use Tooltip1.Show(message to show, Form1, mouseX, MouseY, time to show) But I want this tooltip to be able to show even if the Aplication is minimized and without focus(on the mouse's position). The problem is that the tooltip function those not work in these cases, right?. Can someone help me resolve it or suggest an allternative solution for this requirenment? Thanks indeed.

Modifying AjaxControlToolKits CalenderExtender controls header display

Hi,

I am using the CalenderExtender control in my webapplication. I am using AjaxControlToolkit.dll v1.0.10920.1(runtime version 2.0.50727).

The calendercontrols header has a display similar to Month, Year eg, September, 2010.

Is it possible to customize this display to September 2010. i.e. I want to remove the comma between the month and year. This is a business requirement.

If it is possible, Can you let me know how to do this?

Thanks

Adding windows forms controls to the display of list items

Hi,

I'm new to Sharepoint development, and was wondering if I could get some brief pointers to get me going in the right direction.  I'm required to add a button to list items that on submit does some manipulation of the data in the fields inside the item and then sends that data off to an external webservice.  The complexity is sufficient to warrant managed code, i.e. C#.

What I'd like to know is how to approach integrating this code into Sharepoint.  I've read about web parts, but viewing list items doesn't involve web part pages on my installation so I can't include my own.  What other ways are there of doing this?

Cheers all

Can a .ASP Page display GridView Controls?

Hi,

I have been given a site mainly created with .ASP pages with the majority of the data retrieval done via Functions within tables.

I'm trying to move away from this by implementing GridViews etc however my gridview within any .asp page fails to return any data. I can test the query and it works within the query builder section however the empty template view keeps on appearing.

The code is below:

<asp:GridView id="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1">
 <Columns>
  <asp:BoundField DataField="Openx" HeaderText="Openx" SortExpression="Openx">
  </asp:BoundField>
  <asp:BoundField DataField="Closex" HeaderText="Closex" SortExpression="Closex">
  </asp:BoundField>
 </Columns>

 <EmptyDataTemplate>
  No Data
 </EmptyDataTemplate>
</asp:GridView>
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="Data Source=RAM;Initial Catalog=Availability;User ID=******;Password=****" ProviderName="System.Data.SqlClient" SelectCommand="SELECT [Openx],

Custom Controls in C# .NET

Embedding user controls in a Windows form is just like adding a simple button or text box that are already provided with .NET. These basic controls were written essentially like you code your own controls. Typically the controls you design are to be used in multiple forms or to modularize your code. These reasons help reduce the amount of code you have to type as well as make it easier for you to change your implementation. There should almost never be any reason to duplicate code because it leaves a lot of room for bugs. So, implementing functionality specific to your control in the control's source code is a good idea. This reduces code duplication as well as modularize your code, which is a good programming guideline.

Accessing the different controls inside a GridView control

how we can access a particular control which resides inside a GridView control. In this article I will show you how you can access different controls inside a GridView control. We will see how we can access a TextBox control, a DropDownList control and a ListBox control. If you are working with ASP.NET 1.X then you might want to check out my article Accessing Different Controls Inside a DataGrid.

Using ASP.NET 3.5's ListView and DataPager Controls: Displaying Data with the ListView

Prior to ASP.NET 3.5, developers who needed to display a set of records could choose between the GridView, DataList, and Repeater controls. The GridView provides rich data features, but has a very boxy layout; the DataList and Repeater allow for a more flexible layout, but lack the "point and click" data features found in the GridView, DetailsView, and FormView controls. The ListView bridges the gap between layout flexibility and built-in data features.

This article, the first in a series of articles on the ListView and DataPager controls, looks at the ListView's many available templates and illustrates how to display data. Read on to learn more!

GridView inline Master/Detail record display

This code drop is part of a smash and grab series. If you're in a rush, you can just grab this code and insert it into your application, no understanding is required. When you have some time (ya, right) you may want to review the source code.

Display Related Data in an ASP.NET GridView

Typically when you display a datagrid you will want to show data from a related table. There are 3 different ways to accomplish this with NetTiers. You can use a custom stored procedure, deepload functionality from the code behind, or a strongly typed datasource control. We'll provide an example of each
