ContentControl's ToolTip - issues changing Content

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 12, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF
Hi all,   I'm having a few issues changing the Content of a ContentControl.   I have a collection of MyClass. One of these at a time has a property IsSpecial set to true. I loop through the collection, find which one it is, and set my ContentControl's Content to the "special" MyClass. Later, a different MyClass becomes special (and the older one's IsSpecial is set to false). I then loop through, and reset the Content to the new MyClass. The problem I have is nothing seems to be updating/changing - the DataTemplate is showing the data from the previous MyClass. Changing the Content from one object to another should work, right?   EDIT: Further testing shows that the Content IS changing, but the ContentControl's Tooltip is NOT. The tooltip is part of my DataTemplate.

WCF MTOM Client calling Java Webservice - Issues with File attachment Content ID encoded in SOAP mes

Hello,I'm having difficulty calling a MTOM enabled Java based web service that accepts an file as input..NET appeats to be generating a SOAP message where the reference to the binary part of the message is an encoded url.For Example:  <inc:Include href="cid:http%3A%2F%2Ftempuri.org%2F1%2F634000265217257868" xmlns:inc="http://www.w3.org/2004/08/xop/include"/>In fact, the Content ID defined in the SOAP message, looks nothing like the actual Content ID of the actual message part.Content-ID: <http://tempuri.org/1/634000265217257868=2787915398744@soapui.org>The service is invoked and executed on the java webserver...but the data element appears to be null.I do not believe the java web server understands the reference in the SOAP message because it is encoded....Or...perhaps it's because the Content-ID attribute has extract stuff on it.I'm working with a custom MTOM encoder in WCF....is there a way to generate your own Content ID or tell .NET not to encode the url?My frustration with .NET has reached an all new level with this project...Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here the SOAP message that is being generated:<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:ns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/messaging/200901" xmlns:ns1="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/core/200901&q

Changing crid cell content at runtime

In a cell in a grid, I have a TreeView. When the parsing of the data behind the treeview yields an error, I would like to replace the treeview with a textblock with information on the error details.

I'm thinking about using a datatemplateselector, but I can't figure out how, or if this is the best approach. Any suggestions?

Alternatively I will place a ContentControl in the grid cell and populate it with the correct content from the code behind file, I just think there could be a more elegant solution in pure XAML.

sharepoint changing content type layout has no effect on old pages

I have a content type layout. After I changed it, it had no effects on existing pages.

When I add new page with this content type it has latest version.

How can I fix this? I want my current pages to use new content type layout.

Custom document library list template issues with custom content type

Either I don't know what SharePoint is doing or I don't know what I'm doing (or both, which is more likely).

I'm attempting to create a Custom Document Library template with a custom content type association (Custom Document), all using a feature. When I create
a document library based on the installed template, the content type association is there. However, when I click on New Custom Document, the template.dotx does not reflect the Custom Document content type association. The Word document information panel does not show any Custom Document content type properties (like Title and Comments).

Here are the steps I've taken:

1. Create the feature.xml with element manifests of contentType.xml and CustomDocumentLibrary.xml
2. Create the contentType.xml (Custom Document) with an additional field reference for Comments
3. Create the CustomDocumentLibrary.xml for the list template
4. Create a Custom Document Library subfolder that contains the same files that are in the 12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\DocumentLibrary\doclib folder.
5. Edit the schema.xml to use the new content type and field reference
6. Deploy and activate the feature
7. Create a new "Custom Document Library"
8. Go to Custom Document Library Settings and verify the Custom Document content type is being used
9. Click on New Custom D

DataGridCell Alignment Style Changing Width of Content?

It appears to when I use the following style to alter the cell alignment of a column, it is changing the width of the cell's contents to no longer expand to fill. This is problematic as it means I have to click in the narrow region shown in the second picture to edit the contents. What's the proper way to fix this?

Style code:

<Style x:Key="RightAlignStyle" TargetType="{x:Type DataGridCell}">
  <Setter Property="HorizontalAlignment" Value="Right" />

Changing the graphics on the home page of a SharePoint site

When you create a site in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services by using the default Team Site template, the home page includes two default graphics. A Windows SharePoint Services graphic appears in the body of the page, and a picture of a house in a circle appears near the site title. You can change these graphics to customize your site. Changing the smaller graphic requires a Windows SharePoint Services compatible Web page editor

SharePoint Tutorial - Content Types

SharePoint content types provide users with a way to manage and organize content in a more meaningful way. It's a reusable of settings you want to apply to a particular type of document in a library or item in a list.

Displaying Row Details Tooltip on GridView using JQuery

Continuing exploring JQuery! I decided to implement a feature to display some kind of details related to a row displayed on GridView. For example when displaying employees details on GridView some information might not fit in the GridView because it will make it huge and wide. These infomration can be diplayed as Tooltip. Or when you want to display a picture and some kind of formated text to be diplayed as tooltip when mouse hover on the image.

Enabling Users to Maintain SharePoint Content

When SharePoint is installed as a corporate intranet, there is a considerable amount of effort involved in maintaining the content to keep the site relevant. As we discussed in the first few parts of this series, SharePoint has many built-in features to reduce the burden on the site administrator.

Some areas of the site usually contain less-dynamic information. Internal memos and corporate policies are common examples of this information. One option for this information is to post these documents in a document library. Documents in a library are often stored in a few different formats: Word, Acrobat (PDF), or HTML. Each of these formats has its drawbacks.

Create ToolTip for GridView Header

The following allows you to add a tooltip to the header links of your GridView, a feature that is lacking.

Tooltip for GridView Column Headers (ASP.Net)

I just wanted to add auto tooltips for my GridView headers. There are couple of ways but I don't want to use javascript and wanted to use simple 'title' attribute. It took couple of hours to get the working code supporting sortable columns. I thought it will be very useful for others. Here's the code and logic behind it.

Application Vs. Content Pages in SharePoint

SharePoint has two types of ASPX pages. One type is the application page, also known as a _layout page. The other type of ASPX page is a content page, also known as a site page. Each of these page types is stored in a different location in SharePoint. When developers create custom ASPX pages, they must decide on the page type.
