Date Picker Parameter

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 11, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
hi guys... I can't get the date picker for ssrs 08 reports to work. My underlying columns is a datetime type and as far as I know that should do it. It just shows the dates as normal entries even though I changed the Data type from text to date/time in the report parameters properties. Any idea much appricated? Thx

jQuery Date picker Implementation in ASP.NET

I've posted a wrapper ASP.NET around the jQuery.UI Datepickercontrol. This small client side calendar control is compact, looks nice and is very easy to use and I've added it some time back to my control library.

This is primarily an update for the jQuery.ui version, and so I spend a few hours or so cleaning it up which wasn't as easy as it could have been since the API has changed quite drastically from Marc's original implementation. The biggest changes have to do with the theming integration and the resulting explosion of related resources.

If you want to use this component you can check it out a sample and the code here:

Jquery date picker in ASP.NET Web user control does not work

Hello, I have the most frustrating problem and being new to JQuery does make it more difficult. I have an ASP.NET web user control with an ASP.NET box which I want to apply a JQuery date picker to, then of course I have server side code which takes the date and processes it etc. The date picker will not work. I can achieve a working JQuery date picker with an ASP.NET textbox if there is no user control involved, or within the user control I use a html text box instead, but once I add runat="server" to the text box, it does not work. Is there a way I can achieve this? (the web user control will be wrapped in an update panel too which at the moment will work with the html control/web user control without the server side functionality)

Calendar Date Picker Restriction

Is there a way to restrict the user to selecting only the first day of a month from the Date Picker calendar? The database list the yearmonth column as datetime and the entries are 01/01/2010, 02/01/2010, 03/01/2010. . . to represent the month. So I need to be able to provide the calendar in the parameter panel but only let the user select the first day of a month. If I can't do this is there some way of providing an error message when/if they select another day of the month that would instruct them to select the first day of the month? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Using date as a parameter

Environment: 2008 SSRS, 2008 visual studio We run our reports in two modes. User selects a report from a menu on a web page, the report displays and waits for them to enter some filter parameters. Or, some pages have a print button where the report is run with all the required parameter values pulled from the the data state of the page with the button. The same RDL is used in both instances. One particular report has dates as required parameters. When the report is run prompting the user for parameters it works great. When run at the press of a button is when we have problems. The pertinent sections of the RDL look like this: In the parameter section the parameter is defined like:     <ReportParameter Name="FromChangeDate">       <DataType>DateTime</DataType>       <Prompt>From Change Date</Prompt>     </ReportParameter> In the query section the parmeter is defined:           <QueryParameter Name="@FromChangeDate">             <Value>=Parameters!FromChangeDate.Value</Value>           </QueryParameter> The corresponding parameter in the stored procedure is defined: @FromChangeDa

jQuery Date Picker

I am using following attached date picker. http://rapidshare.com/files/417385026/jQuery_Date_Picker.zip http://www.2shared.com/file/d2NK63P-/jQuery_Date_Picker.html Problem is if i don't use font-size tag in the body of the HTML page date picker size becomes too big . I tried using Font-size tag with the div/table/td inside which i put the asp textBox which has date picker but it doesn't work, it works only with body to reduce the datepicker size. Please let me know how i can reduce the size of this date picker without actually reducing the font size of the whole page. Here are screen shots With font size tag in body http://img835.imageshack.us/i/92688528.jpg Without font size tag in body http://img833.imageshack.us/i/48042121.jpgjQuery that i am usinghttp://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/#dropdown-month-year Thank You.

Change the Default Date in the Date Picker Control

Hi, I have a WPF Datagrid in which one of the columns is a Date Column. So i have used a DataTemplateColumn as Follows     <my:DataGridTemplateColumn CellTemplate="{StaticResource EffDateDateTimePickerControl}"   CellEditingTemplate="{StaticResource addrEffDate}" Header="Effective Date"/> And in my Resource File i have written the following code: Style   TargetType="{x:Type my:Calendar}" x:Key="CalenderControlTemplate">     <Setter Property="Template">     <Setter.Value>     <ControlTemplate TargetType="my:Calendar" >     <my:CalendarItem Name="myCalendarItem"   Background="White"   BorderBrush="Black"   BorderThickness="1"   VerticalAlignment="Center" />     </ControlTemplate>       </Setter.Value>     </Setter>     </Style>       <DataTemplate x:Key="EffDateDateTimePickerControl">     <Label x:Name="lblEffDate" Content="{Binding effectiveDate,Mode=TwoWay}" ></Label>     </DataTemplate>     <DataTemplate x:Ke

Rich Text in list forms & date picker

Hi, I was hoping that someone could help me on a few issues. I have created a custom list form in sharepoint designer to display the contents of my list in a nice format. I have also customised the edit form for the list. I am having a problem with special characters now showing up when they are being entered (the HTML does not seem to be parsed on the output). I would like to make a description field in my list edit form a rich text box, is this possible? This is the code I am using at the moment for the text box: <asp:TextBox runat="server" id="ff5{$Pos}" text="{@status}" textmode="multiline" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('u',concat('ff5',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@status')}" Width="600px" Height="100px" /> And this is the code that I am using on the display side of the list to show the status update: <xsl:value-of disable-output-escaping="yes" select="ddwrt:AutoNewLine(string(@status))" /> Is there code that I can use on the data entry side that will show a rich text box? Also then I will need to change the tag on the display end so it parses the HTML? In addition to this, is there specific code for a 'date picker' ? At the moment my date entry box is just a standard text box, is there code I can u

Date picker format -> Preview vs Report

I'm at my wits end!

When previewing a report on one of our machines, the date format for a parameter insists that en-GB dates are invalid (dd-mm-yyyy-). Instead, it requires en-US (mm-dd-yyyy). When deploying the report, it goes back to the correct format of en-GB.

Bear in mind, this works on all of the rest of our development machines exactly as required. Only this one machine doesn't work.

I've tried: -

  • Setting the report properties to United Kingdom - it already was
  • Changing ReportViewer.aspx to include --> <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" Inherits="Microsoft.ReportingServices.WebServer.ReportViewerPage" Culture="en-GB" %>
  • Ensuring that regional settings (control panel->regional and language options) is setup to English -United Kingdom. It all already was (regional, location, language and advanced tabs all setup to UK)
  • Ensuring the browser on the machine is setup to English -United Kingdom, it already was
  • Adding <globalization culture="en-GB" uiCulture="en-GB" /> to web.config
  • Updating BIOS (not my idea, but was getting to the point where I'd try anything! Basically, the BIOS has the date in the US format, so despite my reasoning that it's irrelevant due to regional settings, we upda

remote execution of ssis package using wcf doesn't like date parameter

I have a ssis package remotely executed by a C# windows application that runs ok in context of SSIS installed on the desktop; I created a wcf windows service that the C# application executes, creates a copy of the package with the date in the variable, but errors on the first SQL task component that requires the date. The copy executes using the SSIS utility. What is possibly the issue with wcf and the date type in the SSIS package? Here is the error:

Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

Forms Library Changed event and Validation event returns empty string on date picker

Hi there,

I'm trying to do date validation on a date and time picker through code (i want to make sure that the date is later than today and that the next date is at least one day later than that).

But when i try to get the value in the chagned event, i keep getting empty string as value.

What am i doing wrong here??

This is the code:

public void LeaveRequestFrom_Changed(object sender, XmlEventArgs e)
      // Write your code here to change the main data source.
      XPathNavigator xroot = MainDataSource.CreateNavigator();
      XPathNavigator fromdate = xroot.SelectSingleNode(
        "/my:myFields/my:LeaveRequestFrom", NamespaceManager);

      if (fromdate.Value != "")
        //Make sure the from date is in the future
        if (DateTime.Parse(fromdate.Value) < DateTime.Today.AddDays(1))

Date as a Search Parameter

I am trying to get gridview populated on the basis of Date as a search parameter.

Date Textbox is taking date as MM-dd-yyyy.

Date format in table is dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm:ss.

The problem is that when I give date for example 30-04-2010, the data is not populating to gridview as the date in the table is 30/04/2010 12:00:00 .

Actually I want to know query.

Any idea would be helpful.

Date Field and Date Picker

I have a simple date field on form, it puts the date picker way out there, i.e., not next to the date field.  This is happening to all forms to capture data for lists.  How do I bring this right next to the date field?

Date picker shows "Server Error"

Out of the blue, the standard date picker in default SP forms (not InfoPath) show a server error instead of the current date in a month view. Anyone seen this before?
