The full path must be less than 260 characters long; other restrictions apply. If the report server is in native mode, the path must start with slash. c:\documents and settings\administrator\my documents\visual studio 2005\projects\essreportproject\essreportproject\ESSP.smdl 0 0  when i go to my page in wss3 i can see the datasource and model directory, but i cant use them can someone help me with this and explain it for me.

Error when deploying a BCS model - SharePoint wants the SiteUrl property set, but it should not be n

Hi all,

We are getting the following error message when trying to deploy a BCS model as a feature:

The default web application could not be determined. Set the SiteUrl property in feature xxx_yyy to the URL of the desired site and retry activation.

The problem is apparently the missing SiteUrl property on the feature, which is needed to locate the BCS service - but we have deployed many times before without this property! The problem with this property is that it's environment specific, so setting it would make our WSP only good for one specific environment.

According to the following thread, we SHOULD be able to deploy BCS models without the SiteUrl feature (at least in RTM):

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepoint2010programming/thread/9dce4952-479e-455a-b6da-a1c954e10d09

Any idea on how this can be solved?  Adding the SiteUrl is not an option since we can't possibly create separate WSPs for different environments.

Thanks,
Christoffer

BDC/BCS Model doesn't show up when deploying custom bcs solution to farm

Hi,

I've created a custom BCS solution in VS2010, for SP2010, it's based on a .net assembly and in dev/test it all works fine.

Unfortaunetly, when I package it for production, although it deploys successfully - or so everything says - if I look in Central Admin for the BDC model, it's not there!

Has anybody else come across the same issue?

Please let me know what other information you might need.

Kind regards,

Ashley

DSDM favors the philosophy that nothing is built perfectly the first time and looks to software development as an exploratory endeavor.

deploying to msdeploy does not support a proxy server

I am trying to deploy through webmatrix but my system Proxy server configuration is not being used. I assume that webmatrix would detect the proxy server settings and use that for the msdeploy calls under the hood. Can anyone confirm this is a know issue?
