How to keep the hover for Parent menu and set the selected menu item css for child menu item?

I'm using cssfriendly control adapter for menu. My asp.net menu control's datasource is a sitemap file I'm using which contains all the urls.

I have the following questions:

  1. Is there a way to keep the parent menu item hovered while hovering over the respective child menu items?
  2. Is there a way to keep the child menu item selected? I am able to set the css for the parent menu, however I was wondering if the same is possible with the child items.

Please help! Smile

Want a menu with two levels, but I don't want the dropdowns that appear on hover

I am using the CSSFriendly adapters with the menu.  I have a menu control in my master page, and a site map that includes all the pages in the web site.  For the second level on the menu, I have a separate menu control, and I add the items programmatically. When I select an item on the second line, the parent on the top line is also highlighted in the same way.  This is the intent, and uses the .AspNet-Menu-ChildSelected style from the adapter. My problem is that when I hover over the top line, the leaf items cover up the lower line, and I don't like how it looks.  I would prefer to have no fly-outs, if that is what they are called.  So I changed MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels to 0, and these go away.  But then .AspNet-Menu-ChildSelected no longer works, and the parent item is no longer styled.  Everything works except that the parent item is not highlighted.I'm hoping to find a simple solution.

Hover State styling problem...

Here is a link to a screenshot of the off state... http://www.spasticgoat.com/shareshot.jpg when I hover over one of them, it activates a blue gradient background image in the tabs, which I can't get rid of! I've been trying to just use: background-image: none; and then assign a background color to the hover state, but it's not happening.   Any ideas?

Hover extender not working after postback

Hi I bind a hover extender to a cell in a gridview, using following code: Sub GridView1_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs) Handles GridView1.RowDataBound If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow Then  Dim hoverMenu As HoverMenuExtender = CType(e.Row.FindControl("hoverMenu"), HoverMenuExtender)  e.Row.Cells(1).Controls.Item(0).ID = e.Row.RowIndex.ToString()     hoverMenu.TargetControlID = e.Row.Cells(1).Controls.Item(0).ID End If End Sub Now This works perfectly and the panel appear when hovering over the second cell. However after a postback it is no longer working and no panel will show when hovering over the cell. Can anybody help plaese?   Jonas

Hover effect implementation

Hi I am trying to get the hover effect in a gridview via jQuery since IE does not support it in CSS directly. However I can't figure out how to get it back to the way grid looked before the gray hover over effect. I am just using the alternate row style = "#FFE4B5" in my C# code behind so when the grid first loads it has a white background with the alternate rows being shown in Moccasin color. After I hover over it via this JQuery:if (event =='mouseover') {$(this).Css("background", "#D3D3D3")}Once mouse moves out all the rows hovered over remain gray colored. Does some one know how to make it go back to the original colors (white background with the alternate rows being Moccasin color) as they were prior to the hover effect, may be I need an else condition above but not sure. Thanks

Hover and Selected Styles for Menu

Many thanks.

Is there a trick to having nested hover-menus hidden correctly when entering a form.

I have nested hover-menus controls that I used to create an interactive menu.  After I use each control once, it works fine. but when I first enter the form, when I hover over the parent hovermenu, the others pop-up as well until I click on them once.  After that, each of them work fine.

What can I do to stop that from hapening

Highlighting Menu during sub-menu hover

I can highlight a menu-itm when the mouse is hovering over it.  How do I highlight a menu item when a sub-menu item is hovered?  I have a 4 level menu, 2 static accross the top, one drop-down, and one pop-out from the drop-downs.

While selecting level-4 items, it is a little confusing as to which level-3 item is being popped-out because I have alot of level 3 and level 4 items.  I want the appropriate level 3 item highlighted while hovering over its level 4 popout.
