SQL Server 2005 Installation problems

I have SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition 9.00 1399.06 running on Windows XP.  I have upgraded to a Windows 7 64-bit computer, and have attempted to install SQL Server on this machine.  The install procedure failed, probably because I was installing from a copy of the install disks on a USB drive rather than the original CDs.  (I am carrying out the upgrade in a different country to my office and I did not want to risk losing the original install CDs). The install failed, and I realised that I had to install from CDs.  I then uninstalled all the SQL Server programs.  However, the uninstall procedure told me the program was already uninstalled.  However, when I try to reinstall from CDs, I am told that SQL Server Database Services, Analysis Servics, Notification Services and Integration Services are already installed. Therefore I am at an impasse.  I cannot uninstall the programs and I cannot reinstall the programs.  I have tried a registry cleaner (CCleaner) to get rid of registry settings and removed all SQL Server folders, but to no avail. How do I progress without having to reformat my entire computer?  I cannot believe that an installation procedure can be so limited - why isn't a reinstall option offered even if the computer records the programs to be present? I look forward to some suggestions on how to fix this. &n

SQL Server 2005 OWC11 Installation Failure

Hi, While installing SQL Server Developer Edition I am getting a setup failure for OWC11 component on my machine with XP SP2. When gone through various community sites found this is related with Office Web component. I have tried below solution but none of them worked: 1. Downloaded OWC11 from microsoft.com and tried to install but failed to install. Its coming with an error message 'setup can not remove the older version of the Microsoft Offfice web component can not be removed' 2. Tried to uninstall Microsoft Offfice web componen from control panel but failing to uninstall, its giving an erropackage could not found. 3. Tried uninstalling Microsoft office 2007  from machine but didn't worked. I have Microsoft visual studio 2005 and Microsoft office 2007 installed on my computer. Please help me to get rid of this OWC11 component. Thanks in Advance. Jagdish

SQL Server Express 2005 SP3 - installation issues

I'm receiving an error 11055 while trying to install SP3.  I've tracked the problem down to probably being the one described here , but unfortunately cannot follow the steps described there to resolve the problem as the tool they require has apparently been removed because it can damage installations.  Does anyone know another way of fixing this issue?

Problems installing SQL Server 2005 Integration Services for Server 2008 R2

I am trying to install Microsoft Forefont and i have got a tick on every requirement bar 1. I can't install SWL Server 2005 Integration Services Component. I am running windows Server 2008 R2. SQL Server 2005 bidirectional replication problems

I am having a system with two servers running SQL Server 2005 on Windows Server 2003.
Between the two SQL Server instances I am having a bidirectional replication of all my tables to always have the databases in sync.

When the replication is set up on the servers it normally runs fine for some time and then it stops working and I get errors like the following:

  Command attempted:
  if @@trancount > 0 rollback tran
(Transaction sequence number: 0x000001B200005784000D00000000, Command ID: 1)

  Error messages:
Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_MyTable'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.MyTable'. (Source: MSSQLServer, Error number: 2627)
  Get help: http://help/2627
Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_MyTable'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.MyTable'. (Source: MSSQLServer, Error number: 2627)
  Get help: http://help/2627

And another error:

  Error messages:
Agent 'SERV-A2-SYST-SERV-A1-10' is retrying after an error. 77 retries attempted. See agent job history in the Jobs folder for more details.

I do not know much about how the bidirectional replication works as I just set the replication up by some script

Error during installation of SQL Server 2005 when typing the domain account

I am installing SQL Server 2005 on a server (Windows Server Enterprise Edition 2003 SP2) that is not domain controller and on the screen "Service Account" I checked the box "Customize for each service account" and typed a domain account (it has permission to "logon as a service"), its password and domain, and when I click the "Next" button, I am getting the error below:

"SQL Server Setup could not validate the service accounts. Either the service accounts have not been provided for all of the services being installed, or the specified username or password is incorrect. For each service, specify a valid username, password, and domain, or specify a built-in system account. "

What's happening? Why is this error occurring? What I have to do for this error does not occur?

Thanks for any help me to solve this problem

(Note : Excuse me because my English isn't very good !)

SQL server 2005 +asp.net 4.0 +html special characters problems saving special characters

Hello all

Could I please ask - how do I go about inserting into a database special characters such as the uppercase O, umlaut

Ö

Please understand that I have been able to insert the special character from inside MMS by putting an N in front of the value

but when I run the  SQL file from inside an ASP.net 4.0 page it comes up as a diamond with a question mark in it

Does anyone have any idea how I would be able to acheive this?

cluster installation failed - sql server 2005

when i install sql server 2005 in cluster. I have error at

"sqlrun_sql.msi" needed to complete Visual Studio 2005 SQL server installation

I had a hard drive failure at work so had to reinstall my whole development environment :(

I installed Windows 7 Professional.

I installed Visual Studio 2005 full install.

It suggested I installed Service Packs for the components to make them compatitible with Windows 7.

Windows update attempted to install "Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3" which always fails.

I looked at the help that came with the failure error and it said to got to "Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Visual Studio 2005 SQL Server -> Change" then finish up the suspended installation.

I do this and the installation asks for "sqlrun_sql.msi" which I cannot find on any installation disc or anywhere on the internet.

I have tried to repair Visual Studio 2005 and that didn't help.

Will reinstalling Visual Studio 2005 help.

This is so annoying as everytime I shutdown, windows trys to install the VS SQL update and it fails.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt
