Range bar chart having multi-color bars + SSRS 2008

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 10, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
Hi, I want to display 2 different colrs on the same bar in range bar chart. My chart is displaying project risks (MS project kind of chart). Each risk has its own start date, end date. In case of dependent risks, the start date of dependent risk becomes the end date of the risk on which it depends. Each risk has 2 parts. Lost opportunity & Remaining opportunity. I want to display Lost in red & remaining in Green. Can I display 2 different colors on the same bar? Regards, Neeraj

Hello, I want to check weather a chart is hidden or displayd by using the Expression of a Text Box that toggles display of that chart. Therefore I need to call the chart in the Expression. Something like this: =IIF(ReportItems!Chart2.Hidden = False ... But obviously charts are not regarded as report items by ssrs!?!? Thanks Axel

[RS 2008 R2] Advice for Multi-series stacked chart

I need an advice about the layout of a multi-series stacked chart (which I hope is the correct way to realize my report). The data I need to draw has the following structure (aggregations have already been calculated in the database query due to the high amount of data):

Date             Priority    Value
2010-09-19   A             48
2010-09-19   B             50
2010-09-19   C             45
2010-09-19   TA A        11
2010-09-19   TA B        18
2010-09-19   TA C        2
2010-09-19   Total        143

The chart must contain Date on X axis, the Value on Y Axis and stack in the same chart area 7 different graphs according to priority field:
- 4 must be line graph (Priority = A, B, C, Total)
- 3 must be column graph (Priority = TA A, TA B, TA C)

Here follows the way I conceived the chart:
- Date field goes into Category Groups
- Priorit

SSRS 2005/2008 - Chart with bar graph not generating on subsequent executions of report even with mo

For a report executed from Report Manager that has a bar chart component, regenerating the report via refresh or view with same input parameters either gives a different result that is garbled or an empty chart (2008) or no chart at all (2005). I have the report set up to not do any caching, so that does not seem to be the issue. Is there some chart option I may need to set to get the proper chart display.

SSRS 2008 ERROR - rsProcessingAborted:System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Mu

I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 Ent. Edition 64 bit reporting services. The source data for report is at remote server and it is SQL Server 2005 Ent. Edition (though I don't think this matters here.) I have set the <WorkingSetMaximum> to 5GB for SSRS

I am testing the performance of report server and running a report with 100K records with 20 concurrent users. All 20 reports gets executed successfully. When I try with 25 or 30 users only 21 reports execute successfully when I see the ExecutionLog table. I see this exception in the report service log file. Please help.

SSRS 2008 R2 - Line chart labels - visibility based on expression?

I would like to control the visibility of a data label in a line chart using an expression. For example, I have a requirement to show the data label for two compariable data points in a line chart where the horizontal axis is time (Q1, Q2, Q3, etc...) and the data points are determined based on a selected parameter. The basic idea is that a user can select to view Q3 as the end point of reporting and the chart will graph a complete time line (e.g. FY 2001 thru FYXX Q3) but only show the label for Q3 and prior year Q3.

I have tried to build an expression in the visibility property of 'Chart Series Labels' but this does not appear to work.

How can fill 3D bars/cylinders with gradient fill based on the value? (SSRS 2008)

I need to create a 3D bar/cylinder chart where the bars are filled with Gradient based on the max height.  Like the hign mountains where the peak is white and below you have shades of green.  Gradient Fill on 3D Series only picks up the primary color and never see the secondary.

Ideally, I'd specify the 'low' color (say black) and 'top' color (say white) and the bars will have the gradient from black to the % of grey that corresponds to their height ratio.

If the max value is 100, a bar of value 10 will start from 100% black to 90% grey.  A bar of value 85, will start again from 100% black to 85% grey.

The data set is a matrix of X (number) ,Y (date) and Z (number) and could draw like a scatter plot but I have many similar high Z values in close proximity which hide themselves behind each other.

My aim is to be able to view the 3D chart from any angle and be able to see the peaks of same or similar heights.

Recommendations or alternatives?

Many thanks

SSRS 2008 Scatter Chart

I haven't seen a way to create text labels for the y-axis of my scatter chart.  As a quick fix I just created labels outside of the chart and positioned them near the major tick marks.

On the x-axis of the scatter chart I have been able to create text labels.  Sometimes the text is long which the chart then wraps so that the labels look nice and neat.

The problem is that if a text label on the x-axis is too long the chart's height is reduced.  So then the tick marks on the y-axis don't match up with my text labels that I created outside of the chart for the y-axis.

Is it possible to create text labels for the y-axis of the chart?  OR is there a way to define a height for the chart area?
