anchor text box to specific location in report?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 10, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
In my report, I've got a map of the world as the background image. In it, I want some textboxes set over certain countries displaying some metrics for them. is there any way to 'anchor' the text boxes  to an exact location on the map? The issue that I'm having is that when the display size changes, then the text boxes move around. Any ideas?

Search does not find text in Word document stored in document library on a Report Center site within

We have a document library on a site created off of the Report Center site template. We uploaded a Word 2007 document with the word zebra in the text. Using the search bar at the top of the page we selected This list: Our document library and searched for zebra. We received no results.

We tested the same thing on another site (site template Team site) within the same site collection and search worked fine.

Does the Report Center search function differently then the search functionality on the Team site?

Most efficient way to check whether a DataGridView contains some specific text at a specific column

Dear All,   I am looking at the most efficient way to check whether a specific column of a DataGridView contains some text. For example I have a list of firs names and I would like to check whether the text "Bob" already exists in that columns. I would like to avoid to loop through each row but what thinking of using something with "Contains".   Anybody has an idea ?   Cheers,   Kalos

How to put text from an external text file into a text box on a report.

Hi all, We're moving from our legacy reporting app to SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 and I'm converting our reports slowly but surely.  In our organization, one of our departments sends out letters that have standard marketing messages and disclaimers that they put into .rtf files.  Currently, our reporting application has an RTF box control that can do that fairly easily.  I've not found a similar control in SSRS 2008.  My thought, then, was to use a piece of embedded code in the report to grab the necessary text from the file and reference it in the Value of a Placeholder (using a Code.<FunctionName>.ToString() statement) - using HTML tags for the necessary formatting for those files. I don't care if I have to convert the existing RTF files to HTML files to do this, that's not an issue.  The code I'd come up with is this:  Public Function GetTextFile(ByVal strFileName as String) As String Dim oFile as System.IO.File Dim oRead as System.IO.StreamReader oRead = oFile.OpenText(strFileName) GetTextFile = oRead.ReadToEnd() End Function And the Expression I was using to get the text from the file is:  =Code.GetTextFile("HTMLTest.txt").ToString() Where "HTMLTest.txt" is the file name that I'm using.  The text itself is just a line of text with some HTML tags included for formatting - bold, color,

SSRS BUG? When a FontStyle expression is used in a report, the Browser Text Size setting overrides t

I have created a report that has the same font size for all the sections in the report. Some sections' fields use a FontStyle expression that changes the FontStyle between Normal and Italics conditionally. I run the report through the reportserver interface and the report looks fine. I run the report through the ReportViewer control and the the fields which use the FontStyle formula are overridden by the Browser's Page Text Size. Also, when I look at the inline HTML Style that's generated, the fields with the formula don't have a style, they are blank, while the fields with without a FontStyle expression have an inline HTML Style generated. And this is probably why the browser text size setting can override. This seems like a ReportViewer HTML render bug... Or is there a way around it??

Print a specific Access Report with selected GridView record

I have my code output a gridview with all the data with an option to select records. I'm trying to make a code which would allow me to select a record, and then print this record using a specific Report stored in MS Access. I've located the code to print the Report it self, but it prints ether all the records or a range. Any ideas?

Execute a SSRS Report from CRM using URL to output to PDF with a specific file name

We have a CRM installation from which I am trying to do some reports which use the CRMAF filters so the reports are sensitive to entitiy selections.

eg execute a sales report for a number of selected accounts.

The specific RDLs have been created in VS2008 and uploaded to the reporting server via the Report import tools within CRM and all work as expected however the output of the report is in HTML via the web browser.

I have changed the configuration of the report in CRM so that it uses the URL method like below so that the report is rendered into PDF which is great.

This method prompts for the user to open/save the PDF file which is acceptable however I would like to replace the default file name (which is the report name) with one of my own.

Printing to printer. Not the page but some specific text.

I do run System.net.Mail on my web pages to send email confirmations. For those who doesn´t have an email I would like to print the letter to a printer.

Below is my code to send a body to the email. It works great. How ever. Could I somehow add a function to my page so when customer has no email the page instead prints the code to our network printer?

Dim htmlView As AlternateView = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString("    <center> <img src=cid:companylogo> </center><br><br> " & fornamn & " " & efternamn & " " & "<br><br> " & adressen & "<br><br> " & "" & postnummer & " " & "" & postorten & "<br><br><p><strong>Välkommen som medlem i XXXX! </strong></p><p><strong>Tack för din beställning!", System.Text.Encoding.UTF8, "text/html")

SSRS 2005 report export to excel - show text as number

When exports the report to excel, some columns are numbers(something like 00125987). We need these columns to be text,  but excel convert these columns in numbers and in result we received not "00125987" but "125987".

How to fix that?

We need all these columns to be text.

Report Builder 2.0 - Text only queries with Oracle?

Hi all,

I'm setting up a reporting environment with SQL Server 2008 SP 2. Is there really only text based queries with Report Builder 2.0 hitting Oracle? That seems like a huge problem. Am I missing something? This seems like it would render the product fairly usless outside of spoon feeding reports to users.

Specific text issue

I have a textbox and button in my webpage. Onclient click I am calling the function. I am just displaying the entered text in alert. But when I gave this text 'Avodart® Establishing Predictors of EP-Treatment Adherence:  Linking Symptom Improvement to Adherence
(A Prospective Patient & Provider Study)'

then only this part displaying. 'Avodart® Establishing Predictors of EP-Treatment Adherence:  Linking Symptom Improvement to Adherence'

Find below code for your reference.

<script type="text/javascript" >
        function validation() {
            var a = document.getElementById('TextBox1').value;
             alert(a);    }

<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" OnClientClick="validation();"/>
<asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" MaxLength="200"></asp:TextBox>

Report Builder Filter shows Field as Date Type =Text instead of Date

My Data was created by retrieving ODBC data - using PowerPivot for Excel 2010, and has Birthdate defined as a Data Type = "Date".  This was uploaded to SharePoint, and a New Dataset was created to point at it.

I'm using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Report Builder 3.0.  I tried to filter this data on Birthdate, but when I go into the Filter, and specify the field that was defined as DataType = "Date" in PowerPivot - Report Builder changes the type to "Text", and gray's out the field so that I can't change it to "Date".

If I create an Expression as Cdate(Birthdate.Value), it lets me change the Data Type to "Date", and works appropriately, but we don't want to have to do this with every date field.

Why doesn't Report Builder see this field as a Date ?

Copying text from a ComboBoxItem to a specific UserControl...?

I have a system of UserControls on the screen, one of the controls they contain is a ComboBox which has around 20 items in it, each named StringName1, 2, etc. What I'd want to happen is once one of these ComboBoxItems is selected, the next UserControl I click on (i.e. the next UserControl which experiences a MouseUp event) gets the name of the string, e.g. StringName13, pasted into a dedicated TextBlock which is present in all of this type of UserControl.

A bonus would be if the pasted text, when hovered over, would display the same ToolTip as the original StringName did in the ComboBox list.

Cheers for any help :)
