GUI development in MS Visual Studio 2008

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 10, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Windows Application
Hello Guys, I am new to GUI development, and I want to develop a GUI interface in MS Visual Studio 2008 with following functionalities... 1. Functionality of Drag and drop is to be implemented using MS Visual Studio 2008, C++. It would be same as Matlab Simulink screen that is on its left side. Once we click the name, then the corresponding block should get displayed. It would be great if anyone would explain a bit more about this implementation...The Blocks has someparameters with initial values to be assigned with it, which is present in the SQL database... Note: Blocks are the rectangle pieces, which used would call the internal chunk of code for manipulation... 2. Is it possible to do Zoom In and Zoom Out with the screen, if many blocks are added, then it would be easier to have an overall look to all of the blocks? (as is same in Matlab Simulink). 3. Can the 'subsystems' be defined? Like, if we double-click on the block, we can further add more blocks inside it, for further processing with-in the block. Any recommendations (useful links, books related to this work would be of great help) please...!! Thanks, xplanck

Visual Studio 2008 Asp.net Development Server Launches When use local IIS is project option

I have a visual studio 2008 asp.net MVC webapp project.  The project is set to use local IIS WebServer. When I run without debugging, it runs just fine.  However when i run with debugging Visual studio launches the Asp.net Development Server on top of IIS.  I would not care if it wasnt for the fact that any time i make a web request to the MVC Site it seems to be creating duplicate requests resulting in a very painful debugging experience. Thanks,Giovanni

HttpHandler works with Visual Studio Development Server debugging, but not otherwise

Hi all,

I'm new to HttpHandlers.  I am writing an HttpHandler that reads uploaded files directly from the request stream to provide progress that can be queried using an AJAX request.  For large files, this seems to be faster than having ASP.NET load the file contents into Request.Files and then streaming the file from there to wherever it goes (Linq to SQL into a VARBINARY column in an SQL Server database.)

My HttpHandler works perfectly when I'm debugging using the Visual Studio Development Server, but doesn't work otherwise.  The application pool for this application in IIS 7 is set to run in Classic Mode, and the Handler Mappings screen in IIS says that I must manage managed handlers in system.web/httpHandlers.

I set up in my applications Web.config file.

<add verb="GET,POST" path="*.upload" type="Namespace.For.UploadHandler, AssemblyForUploadHandler"/>

It works great, so long as I don't debug with the "Use Local IIS Web server" option.

What else do I need to do to get this to work?

crystal report -visual studio 2008 dual axis chart (bar & line)

dear all,

i use crystal report integrated with  vs.2008, and i want to make chart with dual axis (bar & line).

i have used bar chart and input the data with 2 values..

then in chart options > template, i activated the dual axis..

my question is, how i can change the 2nd value with line chart not bar chart??

i'd tried to find the right settings in "chart options" but still can't find the solution.

for information in "chart options" there are 4 sub menu : template, general,titles,grid..

i read in a tutorial there's more sub menu called "series" in crystal report (stand alone version)..

is it possible doing it in Crystal Report VS. 2008?

please,, i need your advice and solution..

Thanx before..
