Unexpected window.open Event

I have a small amount of experience with ASP.Net and I have inherited a project that has gone through many hands. I'm not sure if anyone can help me on this, but here goes.

I have an .aspx page (Home.aspx) with an image button (ibEdit) and a link button (btnEditExpiration). The image button was created by another developer before I inherited the project. It is designed to reveal a hidden part of the page, with fields to edit customer information. I have added the link button to open another form  (EditExpirationDates.aspx), populated with information from Home.aspx

When I click on ibEdit, everything works as expected. When I click on btnEditExpiration everything works as expected. The problem arises after I click on the btnEditExpiration button. Thereafter, every time I click on ibEdit , it's as if both click events fire and the EditExpirationDates.aspx form opens .

If I close the page and reopen it everything works fine until I click the btnEditExpiration.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Open a new Window on Button_click event

Hello, I am learning Visual Studio 2008 on the fly.

I'd like to get a help on how to open a new window when the report is opened for view.

1. Populate the asp:DropDownList to fill PDF file names

2. Select the report and click asp:Button

3. Pop a new window to browse the PDF file.

1 and 2 are working fine but for #3 - the report shows up but I can't goback to Home page unless i kill the window and restart the App or use the back button on IE.

Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

How to trigger a JavaScript function using "onmouseover" event on a SPMenuField control?

I could do something along these lines for TemplateField (with ItemTemplate having a HyperLink control):

private void Grid1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
     if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
          ((HyperLink)e.Row.FindControl("lnk_id")).Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "someFunction();");

For SPMenuField, which control should I set the "onmouseover" event to?

How to change image with mouseover event

Hello all,

I am trying to make a dynamic image loader the simplest and easiest way possible. I'd like to have 3 to 4 html links that have a .net onmouseover and onmouseout event that loads an image in a seperate part of the page.

So far I am struggling with even getting this started. Any advise?

Here is what I have so far:

<a href="MyPage.aspx" onmouseover="LoadOverviewImage" runat="server">MyPage</a>

My thinking on this is that the "loadOverviewImage" will run a c# function that will control the image modification on the mouse over and off.

control to display information about image onmouseover thumbnail

How can we display information about an image onmouseover including large size, description etc.

Button event lost after window.open

I have a form with a field which could be populated manually (by typing in it) or through a window.open popup window. The user just have to select the value in the window and it's written in the field of the parent window (all in javascript).

When I enter the value manually, all is fine. However, when I do it through the popup window the value is correctly written in the parent window and the popup is closed, but the click event of the submit button is not raised when i submit the form. The Page Load event is raised and the IsPostBack is set to false.

What could be the problem?

Writing an event handler to generate a JPEG thumbnail from a TIFF image

Hi guys,

I'm quite new to programming / development so forgive the rudimentary nature of the question.  I've got a requirement where I need to generate a thumbnail from high resolution TIFF images that are deposited into a SharePoint document library.  Document libraries as far as I can see don't support TIFF images.

I've been advised that I might be able to code an event handler to take the TIFF, generate a JPEG thumbnail, which it can then store in a document library and add to the view in an appropriate column, such as dropping a URL into a picture column.

Now, only having opened VS for XML editing, I'm not sure of the best way to start this.  Any pointers, as such, are gratefully received.

How To Open Fancy Tooltip from GridView

This article will show How To Open show Fancy Tooltip in GridView.

Built-in Functions - Text and Image Functions in SQL Server

Text and image functions operate on TEXT, NTEXT and IMAGE data types. These data types are deprecated with SQL Server 2005 and should be replaced by VARCHAR(MAX), NVARCHAR(MAX) and VARBINARY(MAX) when possible. Alternatively you can also consider storing large string values using XML data type. Text and image functions are nondeterministic.

Future versions of SQL Server will not support TEXT, NTEXT and IMAGE data types. Columns with TEXT / NTEXT data type do not support commonly used string functions such as LEN, LEFT, RIGHT, etc. Furthermore, due to the large size of TEXT data you''re likely to see performance issues if you store such data in the database. However, at times you can''t help but use the TEXT / NTEXT / IMAGE data types (for example when supporting 3rd party databases when you cannot change the schema) - this is when text and image functions come in handy.

Program for Format Conversion of An Image

.NET provides extensive support for image conversion. Any image can be processed from one format to another. Most common formats to which .NET have support for are .BMP, .EMF, .GIF, .ICO, .JPG, .PNG, .TIF and .WMF.
