FrontPage 2002: Build Database Connectivity and Office XP Collaboration Features Into Your Site

FrontPage 2002 is packed full of improvements and new features, and includes tighter integration with Microsoft Office. The result is that documents created in Word and Microsoft Excel drop right into your Web site. Tools such as the clipboard, context sensitive search, and advanced copy and paste features have been introduced. Improved views and editing features make content creation faster and easier. Enhanced publishing features give you finer control over what is published, and reports detail publishing and usage statistics. Info on the Go: Wireless Internet Database Connectivity with ASP, XML, and SQL Server

Many handheld wireless devices such as cellular phones and PDAs already have the ability to access Web sites. So how do you build Web applications that tap this wireless audience? Although there are a number of limitations to wireless devices-such as screen size, navigation, and connection speed-you can use familiar Web development technologies to make your existing Web applications available to mobile users. This article outlines the services and equipment currently available to support wireless Web access. A sample wireless-accessible Web site that dynamically draws data from a SQL Server database back end in real time is created using tools such as ASP and XML.

Getting "wrong" data out of a microsoft.sqlserver.management.smo.database object property (using pow

My problem:I do something like this:$dbsvr = new-object microsoft.sqlserver.management.smo.server "servername"$dbsvr.databases | ft name,size -autosizeWhen i run this from two different PC's i get database sizes that are all the same (5.25 mb), the size of the first database listed - which is master.I started to try out a few things, and found out that when i run the same command from one of our servers it returns the correct sizes...Anyone have any idea if this a SMO issue, or maybe some package software version issue...- or what?

Database connectivity without using ado.net

Dear All, Can we perform  Database connectivity without using ado.net??? Can we create our own architecture to connect to database??? If yes, just provide guidelines. Thanks in advance.

Error: "The selected object(s) use an unsupported database provider"

I just installed the latest VS 2008 C# Express and SSCE 3.5. I am trying to test the "LINQ to SQL" feature. I added a data connection to Nortwind.sdf, selected "Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 (.NET Framework Data Provider for Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5)" as data provider, tested the connection, and get the following error when I drag and drop the "Customers" table on the design surface "The selected object(s) use an unsupported database provider" ?. I can create new tables and view existing tables etc. except droppinjg it on the design surface. What am I doing wrong?   The installation on my WindowsXP machine went without a hitch.   Sam

Database connectivity problem (sql server 2005)

Updating the viewstate object before saving it to the database

I have overridden the following methods:

LoadPageStateFromPersistenceMedium()

SavePageStateToPersistenceMedium(object viewState)

in a class that my page derives from, so that the viewstate can be stored in DB.

Now, on page_load of my page, I am checking what control caused a postback & based on that I am forcing execution of 2 button click events in a row (by overloading those click events & calling them explicitely), but the behaviour I want is as if the execution of those 2 button click events went through the regular page life cycle.

Here is the sequence of events that happen in typical page life cycle & notice I want to alter behaviour at step 4 (on load):

1) Initialization

2) LoadViewStateData (here the viewstate is loaded from my database using the overridden LoadPageStateFromPersistenceMedium)

3) LoadPostBackData

4) Load

Here, I would like to force execution of 2 button_click events based on whether a particular control posted back.

       4.1) imgBtnPrev5_Click()

       4.2) imgBtnPrev4_Click()

Now, when the imgBtnPrev5_Click() is executed, the viewstate is already loaded, so we are fine. But after execution of imgBtnPrev5_Click(), I would like to update the viewstate object in memory & then call the o

Hi..

I am new to asp.net and have very little knowledge about it.

I was trying to make a web page which could take information from user like name, address, phone, email and wanted to store this in Microsoft SQL server database.

I created the design with labels and text boxes and a button to submit.
