Event 8305 Sharepoint foundation

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 10, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Hey guys, I just reinstalled Sharepoint 2010 on a new environment, and I'm getting some fresh errors in my Event Viewer. This one is the most common occurring and I think is directly linked to two other errors involving PerformancePoint. The error looks like this. "Event 8305, SharePoint Foundation - Task Category: Claims Authentication An exception occurred when trying to establish endpoint for context: The provided URI scheme 'http' is invalid; expected 'https'. Parameter name: via." I've looked up on google what it means, and it has something to do with the security token service, which coincidentally an error I have in my SharePoint Central Administration. I've exhausted Google but all roads lead to the same tech website from Microsoft: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff535776.aspx Though this looks like an easy fix, the command it gives is an invalid syntax, and PowerShell gives me the common "The term 'Get-SPServicAapplicationPool' is not recognized....etc." If anyone could shed some light on how to fix this error, I'd be very happy and thankful. Thanks in advance!

How to upgrade from Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 to SharePoint Foundation 2010 after mistanely de

I need a detailed instruction on how to upgrade From Upgrading from Windows SharePoint Services 2.0  (SBS 2003 ) to SharePoint Foundation 2010.

Background of the case:

I have all my databases (STS-database and STS_Config) saved but, I forgot to save my Virtual Site )Companyweb site) and I mistakenly re-installed IIS on the SBS 2003, hence  I lost the companyweb site. Is this an issue to migrate to Sharepoint foundation 2010. The Sharepoint foundation 2010 is running on a Microsoft HyperV Server 2008 R2
Also, I have created a Virtual 2003 SRV ENT with Sharepoint Services 3.0 running on it. I also have attached my Databases STS_Database and STS_Config)... how do I get it working like a regular website. I have modified the CNAME record to reflect the new server... http://companyweb - it take me to the new site but it loads a blank page. I did create a new CompanyWeb Virtual site on the VHD 2003 server.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your prompt response. Nelson

Windows SharePoint Services 3 Search Event ID 2424

This error started on 29 April and I cannot get rid of it...  My search works fine, both site and people.  AD profile import works fine.  Full and incremantal crawls work as scheduled.  Just that this error keeps showing up every five minutes in one of two WFE's.  The other WFE does not receive this error

I have verified all Security Configuration/Service Accounts, verified all Services on Server/Search accounts, Stopped/Restarted all search, and verified SSP accounts.  The last thing I did was verify there was an indexer attached to the SSP...

I set the diagnostic logging to verbose and the only thing that stood out around the time of the error was

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Invalid object name 'AR_CacheCounters'.

SqlError: 'Invalid object name 'AR_CacheCounters'.'    Source: '.Net SqlClient Data Provider' Number: 208 State: 1 Class: 16 Procedure: 'proc_ar_GetCacheInvalidationCountersWithCount' LineNumber: 3 Server: 'SERVER'

Any suggestions?

Is it possible to use multiple date fields to have an event show more than once on a Sharepoint 2007

Hello, Is it possible to use multiple sets of start and end times to have events display multiple times in a sharepoint calendar? To clarify: - I have the standard fields of "Start Time" and "End Time" in my calendar list. - Events show on the calendar just fine. - Would like to create additional fields called "Start Time 2" and "End Time 2" within the same record and have the event show multiple times on the calendar. - The recurrence functionality of sharepoint will not meet my needs because the pattern I need to use is not in one of the allowed choices. Thanks in advance, John
