what is stored the guidlocal column in MSmerge_genhistory table (MS SQL Server 2000)?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 09, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
In MSmerge_genhistory table there is a column called guidlocal. I noticed that for a large subset of the records on both the publisher and the subscriber, the value in this column is '00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000'. What does it mean? BOL says that guidlocal is: "Local identifier of the changes identified by generation at the Subscriber." but I still can't make it out what does '00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000' mean?

How to get a Table name from the column Value in Sql Server?

Hi All,I have a number of tables in the database and i have a column value as "abc" coming from one of the tables in the database,Now i need to find the table name from where this column value is coming?

Hi Friends, I am creating an application for a jewellery shop (MINOR PROJECT) in VB.Net but my problem is that I dont know how to insert multiple records for same bill number. consider the following condition Bill Number Customer Name   ............................................... Customer Address ................................................ S.No                 Item name                Rate    Qty                            Total 1                      abc                            5        5                                 25 2                 &nb

Its posible to do a select without the table and the column names into a stored procedure?

I need your help. Imagine that I have two tables:

  1. ALUMN wich has three columns: IdAlumn, Name and Address.
  2. SPORT wich has columns: IdSport, Name, Players and Description.

Supose that my tables could be differnced by a number 1 is for ALUMN and 2 is for SPORT.

And the columns of each table too. So 1 is for IdAlumn, 2 is for Name and 3 is for Address. 1 is for IdSport, 2 is for Name 3 is for Players and 4 is for Description.

For example the combination of table 2 and column 3 is SPORT-Players.

Then I want to do an stored procedure that receives two parameters (the table, the column) @tab and&

What is the best way to get the primary key column name of a table in a stored procedure ?

I'm writing a stored procedure which manipulates a table whose name must be given as a parameter. The stored procedure needs the primary key column name (by design the primary key must have only one column), and I thought I could get this from the system table instead of having to provide it as a parameter. So I need to put the primary key column name in a variable.

The best way I found so far is this :

declare @keyname nvarchar(1024)
table #keys (table_qualifier nvarchar(255),table_owner nvarchar(255),table_name nvarchar

MS SQL Server Stored Procedure - Writing on a table in another another database

I am writing a stored procedure in a database for an app that will become part of a "shell" program that was written to accept an endless # of VB.Net apps.

The stored procedure will look at data in a table on that database, but the end result is that I want to update a table that exisits in A DIFFERENT database on the same server. I think I am referencing the table itself correctly, (databasename).dbo.(tablename). The problem is that the SQL is not performing as it does if I manually run the SQL in the database I'm trying to update.

Here is the SQL:

/****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[usp_ARReport] Script Date: 10/25/2010 14:43:20 ******/

Unable to execute system stored procedures - SQL Server 2000, SP4

I am unable to execute system stored procedures on a SQL Server 2000 server, running Windows 2003, SP1. If I try to run sp_updatestat I recieve a 2758 error after it updates a few tables. If I run sp_recompile, it returns the same error. If I run DBCC CHECKDB on the master database, it reruns a blank screen. Database and T-Log dumps work without issue. This started all of a sudden. I have restarted SQL as well as rebooted the server. Everything came up clean. Need advice desperately.

Unable to execute system stored procedures - SQL Server 2000, SP4

I have a SQL Server 2000, SP 4 running on a Windows 2003 server with SP1. All of a sudden I am unable to execute system stored procedures. When I try to run sp_updatestats 'RESAMPLE' it will update the stats of a couple of tables and then return a 2758 error. I have tried to run DBCC CHECKDB on the master database which returns a blank screen. Database and transaction log dumps are working without an issue. Everything on all other databases works without a problem. I have restarted SQL Server as well as rebooted the server. Everything comes up clean. Cannot find anything on this type of problem and am desperate.

Serialization using SQL server or storing a table object as text in a text column

I have a requirement in SQL server 2008 as follows:

I need to Insert into a particular table say Output at runtime where one of the columns (Content) of type text should contain an object of another table (Audit). This is currently being done through C# by serializing the Audit table and updating the Content with the serialized value. But this needs to be done in SQL now as per the requirement.

Can this be done by creating an object of Audit and storing in Output.Content in SQL itself?

Thanks in advance for the help.

using a stored procedure for a listview, I am trying to only return items in a column of a table tha

I am trying to create a stored procedure that when fed a session parameter, it will only find items that  start with a particular character.  For example, if I have a table named table1, and a column name col1, then if I have 10 items in the column and 5 of them start with the letter c, I want to use a stored procedure to onlly return the items that start with a c.

I am sure it is somethin like:

FROM table1

WHERE col1 = "c??????????"

Validating username and password stored in SQL server table?

Validating username and password stored in SQL server table using ASP ?

Temporary tables in SQL Server vs. table variables

When writing T-SQL code, you often need a table in which to store data temporarily when it comes time to execute that code. You have four table options: normal tables, local temporary tables, global temporary tables and table variables. I'll discuss the differences between using temporary tables in SQL Server versus table variables.

Send Email from SQL Server Express Using a CLR Stored Procedure

One of the nice things about SQL Server is the ability to send email using T-SQL. The downside is that this functionality does not exist in SQL Server Express. In this tip I will show you how to build a basic CLR stored procedure to send email messages from SQL Server Express, although this same technique could be used for any version of SQL Server.

If you have not yet built a CLR stored procedure, please refer to this tip for what needs to be done for the initial setup.
