group headers are not displaying

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 09, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
I am new to Sql Server Reporting Services. I am using SQL Server Reporting Services 2005. I have a report with multiple groups and in detail section I have a subreport. The subreport has only one field. Some times the length of the field can be more than 30000 or 40000 chars. I have kept the group header to repeat in all pages. When the sub report extends to more than 1 page the group header is not displaying in all the other pages for that particular group. Can any one help me to resolve this issue? Thanks, Paul

How do I prevent displaying membership of an AD group in Colleague Tracker web part?

I'm a big fan of the Colleague Tracker web part in MOSS 2007 My Sites, especially the option to show 'Membership Changes'. This is often useful in highlighting that a colleague has been added to a certain AD group.

We now want to hide the membership of certain AD groups from the colleague tracker. For example, if an AD group called 'Project X' is created, we don't want membership of the group broadcast throughout the My Sites where colleagues are tracking colleagues.

My first thought was that we could use AD to 'deny read' on the 'Project X' AD group to all SharePoint related service accounts. This does not appear to have worked, although perhaps the configuration is more complex? The best approach would seem to be to prevent the group membership data ever being imported from AD to the SSP, hence my 'deny read' approach.

Has anyone successfully implemented this, or does anyone have any better ideas?

Displaying headers

Develpoing a website in C#.  Reading from a sql database and need to display the results in a gridview. I can currently display the records with the table headers, but when I scroll the headers disapper. How can I keep the headers when scrolling?

Here is my code.

DBConnect db = new DBConnect();
DataSet ds = new DataSet();

ds = db.getDataForgrid("Select * from employee");
DataTable dt = ds.Tables[0];

grdSummary.DataSource = dt;

Thanking in advance

links to data view group by headers

I have a content editor webpart with some image links,now my requirement is that some images on clicking should go to a dataview web part group header.how can this be done with just one data view webpart ,the way I am doing right now is create few data view webparts from the same list and group them but again filter them by each group,so instead of using just one DVWP I am using as many number as my group headers are there and then edit page to add a hidden CEWP on top of each DVWP and add a div tag to CEWP so that it can reference from other page with image links,I just want to use one DVWP for performance reasons.

Group headers of the main report are not repeating when used with subreports

Hi all,

  I have a SQL server 2008 report which has a main report and 2 subreports embedded. Each of the subreports are placed under a main group and the group headers of the main header are made to repeat with RONP property and Keep together properties set to true. If the subreport's data fits in one page the group headers are repeated. But when the subreport's data spans to more than one page the group headrs of the main report are not repeated. Please let me know if there is a workaround to achieve the same. I have tried putting the group headers in the page header, but this approach does not work fine. Please let me know if this can be achieved using coding.

Dynamic Column headers changes according group level

Hello all,

I have a report with few grouping levels. by default few of the group levels are visible, while for a detailed report either specific group need to be collapsed, or detailed report option to be chosen.

Since in the group summary line I have few statistics, I want the report column header/names to be changed dynamically. I have used expression in header so it will change dynamically when a user wish to see the detailed or summary report using:

=IIf(Parameters!P_Detailed_Report.Value="Y","Detailed column header ","Summary column Header")

But the above won't work off course when the user actively collapses a group.

Can I have the header text to change when a certain group is collapsed by user ?

Sharepoint 2010 Enterprise Wiki - TOC, Table of Content - Displaying only headers for individual pag

I am currently trying to build a wiki for our users in Sharepoint 2010, but there is one particular item I just can't get right. The table of content...

I am aware of the web part TOC, but this one can't be configured to display headers for an individual page only. Instead it insist on displaying all my navigation links, for all my sites, which is quite unnecessary since they are already displayed in the navigation pane to the left.

Is there a way to create a TOC as you see on any other normal wiki page, so it would end up looking similar to my example below?

[SITE Header Example]

1. Header

1.1 Subject 1

1.2 Subject 2

2. Header 2

2.1 Subject 3 and so on...

Then the TOC should be placed in top and look similar to this.

1. Header

1.1 Subject 1

1.2 Subject 2

2. Header 2

2.1 Subject 3

Can this be done, or would it require any 3rd party plugins?

I'm a bit baffled that the build in web part isn't more configurable, since I would have guessed that MS actually would have looked at other wiki pages to see how it is done, before adding their own templates? But maybe I am missing the obvious

Missing group headers

I have seen some of the forum discussions re column headings for group headers.  But I can't tell if a solution has been identified.  SO, here goes with my related issue.

I have a report with a details group; group3; group2; and, group1.  They are all nested.   The group headers have data that is useful for the report.  The details visibility is determined by an expression.  So, it is possible that details will not display for all groups.  When that happens the group3 header still displays --- good thing.  However, the group2 and group1 headers do not display --- bad thing.

I checked the advanced mode properties for all groups and the RepeatOnNewPage and KeepWithGroup properties are as you recommend above.  I have tried various combinations on teh details_group with no change in the results.

Memeber of Group's name displaying as e-mail address

We are having an issue with one site where when i add a specific user to a group under "People and Groups" his name displays as his e-mail address. This is not correct it should display his name the same as everyone else. We do not have this problem with any other employee and if i add this person to any other group in SharePoint his name displays correctly.

Another note that may be related is the fact that Included in the view of this sites groups, the fields that are displayed for memebers in the group are Name, title, and department. These fields are not updating like other groups in sharepoint.

I am wondering if there is something wrong with how this site is set up?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

How do I remove group headers in a listview webpart in Sharepoint 2010?

Displaying SharePoint lists in Web Parts

When you create a built-in or custom list in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services, Windows SharePoint Services creates a Web Part, a basic building block of a SharePoint site, to display that list. These Web Parts are called List View Web Parts. Windows SharePoint Services stores List View Web Parts in the site collection Web Part gallery. (The site collection Web Part gallery is the most central gallery of Web Parts for a work group. By default, the gallery name is the name of the site, such as "Our Team Site Web Part Gallery." )

Displaying Row Details Tooltip on GridView using JQuery

Continuing exploring JQuery! I decided to implement a feature to display some kind of details related to a row displayed on GridView. For example when displaying employees details on GridView some information might not fit in the GridView because it will make it huge and wide. These infomration can be diplayed as Tooltip. Or when you want to display a picture and some kind of formated text to be diplayed as tooltip when mouse hover on the image.

Using ASP.NET 3.5's ListView and DataPager Controls: Displaying Data with the ListView

Prior to ASP.NET 3.5, developers who needed to display a set of records could choose between the GridView, DataList, and Repeater controls. The GridView provides rich data features, but has a very boxy layout; the DataList and Repeater allow for a more flexible layout, but lack the "point and click" data features found in the GridView, DetailsView, and FormView controls. The ListView bridges the gap between layout flexibility and built-in data features.

This article, the first in a series of articles on the ListView and DataPager controls, looks at the ListView's many available templates and illustrates how to display data. Read on to learn more!

Displaying Data using ASP.NET 2.0 Repeater and C#

This tutorial will show you how to display data using the .NET Repeater Control, ASP.NET 2.0 and C#.NET

The Repeater control is a powerful tool and is easy to use.

First, you will need to import the System.Data.SqlClient namespace.

Problem to group radio button across gridview rows

In general no one can easily group or make a single selection from radio button list inside gridview rows. There are a lot of way to make a single or unique selection from list. Here i want to share how i can address this problem in the most easiest way. Googling the problem most of the cases i saw the grouping in horizontal way. Thats why i tried to group the radio buttons in vertical manner. Let i have a requirement like below:

Tooltip for GridView Column Headers (ASP.Net)

I just wanted to add auto tooltips for my GridView headers. There are couple of ways but I don't want to use javascript and wanted to use simple 'title' attribute. It took couple of hours to get the working code supporting sortable columns. I thought it will be very useful for others. Here's the code and logic behind it.

Scrollable GridView with fixed headers in asp.net C# vb.net

In this example i am going to show how to create scrollable GridView with fixed headers which don''t get scrolled with records and stay on the top in asp.net using css, I''ve tested this code on IE7 and Firefox 2.0 , 3.5.

For this we need to add css to headers of gridview to keep them on the top.

First of all place a Panel on the aspx page from thetoolbox. Set height to 200px and width to 200px
and scrollbars to Vertical.
Now add a gridview inside this Panel and set the datasource to populate gridview.

Group Calendars in SharePoint 2010

One of the many requests I had in SharePoint 2007 was the ability to place SharePoint Calendars on top of each other like you can in Outlook 2007 saving you having to look at each and work out when the best time is for a meeting.
