Will SharePoint 2010 support ASP.NET AJAX?

I learned that because SharePoint 2007 and WSS 3.0 were released one year before .NET 3.5, therefore SharePoint does not natively support ASP.NET AJAX out of box. How about SharePoing 2010? Will it support ASP.NET AJAX?

AJAX Extenders in SharePoint 2010

Hello All, I have few WebParts from 2007 and I am trying to deploy them in 2010. None of the extenders seem to be working. Initially I got the error: "Message: AjaxControlToolkit requires ASP.NET Ajax 4.0 scripts. Ensure the correct version of the scripts are referenced. If you are using an ASP.NET ScriptManager, switch to the ToolkitScriptManager in AjaxControlToolkit.dll." I added the tag: <cc1:ToolkitScriptManager id="ScriptManager" runat="server"></cc1:ToolkitScriptManager> it went away. Now I am seeing: Message: 'Sys' is undefined Message: 'Type' is undefined Message: 'Sys.Extended.UI' is null or not an object Message: Sys.ArgumentException: Value is not the name of the type being registered or the name is a reserved word.Parameter name: typeName Can you please help me. Ajax Tool kit for sharepoint 2010

Howdy Coders,

I am using Ajax tool kit version 3.0.30930.28736. in our application. I am using this tool kit in an application page of SharePoint. the Sharepoint version i am using is Sharepoint 2010 RC

i am facing following errors in the while using the tool kit

1) It adds “,” separated list of form field values in the textbox.

2) It gives out unusual errors.

3) If using text box in ModalPopupExtender it prefixes “,” in the textbox before the entered value which may fire RegularExpression (if textbox doesn’t accepts “,”).

4) PopupExtender duplicates popup content within form fields

SharePoint 2010 with EXCEL Service- Support for Office 2003

Hi All,

I have an query. I am using EXCEL Service on SharePoint 2010. Some of users in my network has Office 2003 installed on there Laptop. I have a template which is designed in Office 2010 and uploaded to Document library,

My questions is:

1) Will users who have office 2003 or Office 2007 be able to use that template and fill in data?

Just before we all get excited, could some one from MSFT answer the following :

- At the moment we are using MacroView's Wisdom connector to save emails, word, excel,ÃÂ ppt documents in MOSS libraries.

Question: Will SharePoint 2010 support email and document filing OR do we still have to buy 3rd party connectors to have basic features which should have been in MOSS to start with ?

How to show the Update Progress status on an custom application page in sharepoint 2010 site. Any suggestions are most welcome

Basically we are getting a bunch of list items in the code behind of the application page & processing them, which will take atleast 10 seconds or more, so we would like to show a Update progress Control/image till the process is done.

Can we use ASP.NET AJAX UpdateProgress control in sharepoint 2010 Application pages ?

(We also prefer this process asynchronously, but the user has to indicate the list items to be processed, so Update progress control sounds like a good idea )
