SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2 - The configuration system has already been initialized

After correcting issues related to .NET 4.0, I am now encountering the error below. It occurs when I attempt to access one of the two web sites. Error configuration Wizard WSS3 "The Language is not supported on teh server"

The following error happens during step 2 of the Configuration Wizard.

****** Error MSG from log******
  Task configdb has failed with an unknown exception
Exception: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The language is not supported on the server. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8102005E): The language is not supported on the server.

If I start the Wizard again I now get:
Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: Windows SharePoint Services configuration infrastructure is not initialized.  You must wait until completion before joining another server to the farm.

If I delete the databases and start again I get the first error msg again.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled WSS3  SP2 numerous times.
The DBServer is the same machine.

TFS 2010 RC is also running on this server.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Could not generate configuration file error

I am trying to create an xml configuration file for a very simple SSIS package, but I get an error "Could not generate configuration file."

While creating the config file using the Package configuration wizard, I do get an error saying "The properties tree could not be initialized" for one of the steps. I am sure this is somehow related to not being able to create the config file. The package was created on test server 01 and then copied to test server 02. When trying to create a new configuration file, I am getting this above error. I searched others who had similar questions. I am not using any user variables that store objects either. I am just storing the connection strings in the xml file.

Can someone please help?

Thank you

SQL Server Installation Center - configuration error

Hi There,

I'm trying to SQL Server Standard on a Vista Laptop that has been used as a development machine in the past. The installation process had been failing so I removed SQL Server 2005/2008 completely from the machine.

The reinstall seems to work but I have no instance and no SQL Server Management Studio (which is what I'm really after)

I'm getting an error on opening SQL Server Installation Center:

In a Microsoft .Net Framework dialog box

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click ....

[Followed by...]

And error occurred creating the configuration section handler for userSettings/Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.LandingPage.Properties.Settings: Could not load file or assembly 'System, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c56193e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (C:\Users\mallen\AppData\Local\Microsoft_Corporation\LandingPage.exe_StrongName_ryspccglaxmt4nhllj5z3thycltsvyyx\\user.config

[I apologise for any typing errors]

I clicked continue, but something is not quite right here, what do I do?

Error in Creating a Sharepoint Configuration Database on a SQL server 08 during installation

I have a three server environment – T1 – a domain controller and T2 and T3 for SharePoint  and SQL Server 08 and respectively, where each is a virtual machine.

These servers are on a domain separate from our company domain.

While installing sharepoint on t2, I get the following error at the step that creates a config database (on T3 SQL Server)

  Failed to create the configuration database.

An exception of type System.SystemExcep

Sharepoint 2010 - Error while running Configuration wizard for SP 2010 server farm

Hi All,

I am trying to set up a SP 2010 farm. I have windows server 2008 R2 installed and was able to install SP 2010 successfully. However when I ran the Sp 2010 Products and configuration wizard I am getting the following error at Step 3.

 Failed to create the configuration database.
An exception of type System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException was thrown.  Additional exception information: The given key was not present in the dictionary.
System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary.
   at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowKeyNotFoundException()
   at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.get_Item(TKey key)

I have installed all the prerequisites and I am on Microsoft Geneva Framework 1.0.30624.0 . I saw on a blog that Microsoft Geneve Framework beta 2 will actually cause the above problem. However I encountered the error with Beta 1 version as well.

Any ideas why this is happening?

SQL Server 2008 R2 Installation via configuration file

Hi everyone !

I'm trying to install SQL2K8R2 on a W2K8R2 x64 server.

I previously did the installation using the GUI. No problemo.

Now I'm trying to install using the /configurationfile switch. However the setup fail with the error "the credentials you provided for SQL Server Agent Services are invalid..."

The account is a domain account with no privileges on the server. I only use Windows accounts for Agent & SQL Services.

I've seen some posts on the web about this issue, seems to be an issue with the user which is running the setup command. I'm using an account which is local admin and domain user.

Any help ? Have a nice day.

Test Run: Configuration Testing With Virtual Server, Part 2

Because Virtual Server is built upon a set of COM modules, you can automate the creation and testing of virtual machines. Here we use Windows PowerShell to run the tests.

Weird security configuration error message

Recently something has gone wrong with our website so that whenever you try to access an aspx file, it shows the following error:

Server Error in '/RALSWeb' Application.

Error with ASP.NET Configuration Tool

I'm trying to make an MVC 2 site, and I've run into a bit of a snag.  I want to add user roles to my system via the configuration tool, but every time I click the Security tab I get the following error:

"There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data store.

The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: Could not load type 'HandiGamer.MvcApplication'."

When I click on the 'Choose Data Store' button, it tells me I'm already using AspNetSqlProvider.

I have a .mdf file for the rest of the site's db, but didn't make any tables for membership as I thought all of that would be handled by the configuration tool.

Am I missing a step?

MOSS 2007 configuration error

Hi Experts,

I installed sharepoint 2007 successfully but while configure the sharepoint it gives following error:

3.Sharepoint Timer service

RDL Rendering (500 Internal Server) Error at Sharepoint Integrated Reporting Service

I have a serious problem that cannot be solved by googling around the keywords below:
sharepoint, moss 2007, reporting service, ssrs 2008, rendering, internal server error, ....

The error is;

"An error occurred during client rendering. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. "

Everything is O.K.;

* When I render the report from the REPORTSERVER (http://localhost/ReportServer)
* When the reports are scheduled to be sent by the reporting service (planned via MOSS 2007)

But if I open (render) the RDL file from the sharepoint REPORTS LIBRARY interface, all of the reports fail with that internal error message above.

It is weird also that parametrized reports are displayed without errors although the parameters are queried from a sql dataset. But I got the error when rendering the report after I've chosen a parameter  and order "apply/report"...

Possible causes how I met that error may be;

After I have installed (then uninstalled) AJAX extensions
After I have re-configured IIS Web Service Extensions list items

Possible solution alternatives I've found;

I've found a solution on MSDN replying a similar issue with an ideal cause of the error but an evreka answer but no sol
