I currently have an excel file that has 2 spreadsheets. 1 is the raw data (formatted) and the second is the validation spreadsheet. I want to create a new file biweekly that has the new raw data, but the same validation spreadsheet/same formatting sheet
for raw data.
I created a file system task that copies the sample template into a different location, then renames it as an excel file with the date included in the name (@newfile). My question is, how can I now connect to the new excel file within the data flow
task and insert the data into the formatted sheet? I have tried creating an excel connection to another workbook in the same path and setting the connection string = @newfile, however I am getting the following error;
Error 1 Validation error. Data Flow Task: Excel Destination : The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "AG010908.xls" failed with error code 0xC0202009. Package.dtsx 0 0
Even with that connection working, how can I insert the data in the first row of the formatted spreadsheet (since it won't be available until after the file is created. The name of the formatted sheet will remain static)
