Error when using SQL Server temporary tables with Eclipselink JPA

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 08, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
I am using SQL Server 2008 with Eclipselink JPA. SQL Server requires temporary table names to start with # e.g. #AS_ARCHIVE_TMP. When I execute a native query using the table e.g. INSERT INTO AS_ACTIVITY_AR (ACTIVITY_ID,ACTIVITY_TIME,ACTIVITY_TYPE) SELECT ACTIVITY_ID,ACTIVITY_TIME,ACTIVITY_TYPE FROM AS_ACTIVITY WHERE ACTIVITY_ID IN (SELECT ACTIVITY_ID FROM #AS_ARCHIVE_TMP)  I get a warning and then an error because the table name is interpreted as a bind parameter due to the #.  Missing Query parameter for named argument: AS_ARCHIVE_TMP null will be substituted.  Exception EclipseLink-4002 (Eclipse Persistence Services - 2.1.1.v20100817-r8050): org.eclipse.persistence.exceptions.DatabaseException Internal Exception: weblogic.jdbc.sqlserverbase.ddc: FMWGENSQLServer JDBC DriverInvalid parameter binding(s). Error Code: 0 Query: DataModifyQuery(sql="INSERT INTO AS_ACTIVITY_AR (ACTIVITY_ID,ACTIVITY_TIME,ACTIVITY_TYPE) SELECT ACTIVITY_ID,ACTIVITY_TIME,ACTIVITY_TYPE FROM AS_ACTIVITY WHERE ACTIVITY_ID IN (SELECT ACTIVITY_ID FROM ?) ") Is there some solution to this problem? Can I escape the table name somehow so it won't be treated as a bind parameter? I have posted the same question on the eclispelink forum, but I am posting it here in case someone else has come across the same issue.  Is it possible to create a temporary table without

Temporary Tables - MS SQL Server

Usage of temporary tables in MS SQL Server is more developer friendly and they are widely used in development. Local temporary tables are visible only in current session while global temporary tables are visible across all sessions.

Temporary tables in SQL Server vs. table variables

When writing T-SQL code, you often need a table in which to store data temporarily when it comes time to execute that code. You have four table options: normal tables, local temporary tables, global temporary tables and table variables. I'll discuss the differences between using temporary tables in SQL Server versus table variables.

temporary tables in SQL Server 2008

Are there any changes in the rules for creating temporary tables in SQL Server 2008 comparing to 2005? 2008 example in 'SELECT INTO' explicitly uses 'tempdb' while in 2005 any database was OK. Is this just an illustration or change in the features?

Temporary tables in sql server

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

Error Handling: Throwing Custom Exception Types from a Managed COM+ Server Application

Exception handling semantics in .NET are based on type, so you can create custom exceptions that have their own properties and methods. In .NET, exceptions are first-class citizens, and since they're the built-in error handling mechanism, all .NET-compliant languages must support exceptions. In addition, COM+ services are available to .NET code as Enterprise Services, so you can leverage exceptions in your Enterprise Services design.In this article the author describes custom exceptions, throwing exceptions across COM interop boundaries, and working with Enterprise Services.

All my server-controls became unrecognized!!! like there's compilation error or web.config missing!

please help - the problem is in post subject.

I have lots of warnings with following text:

"Warning 10 Element 'HyperLink' is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the Web site, or the web.config file is missing. C:\Users\Pavel\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\WebSites\BioWebSite\ToScientist.aspx 26 18 C:\...\BioWebSite\"

But web.confg is there! And there's no compilation error!

Site builds just fine. And If I upload it to my hoster - it works!

But with all these errors I cant add controls to pages - VS2010 adds hyperlink without ID, and intelisens stoped to work.

Strange, but in my other project (web-application) I have no such difficuty.

Migrating aspnet tables to dev server - having issues

We're trying to migrate a one of our apps to our dev server for testing and development, but we're having problems with the membership functionality. We can add users, but there seems to be a disconnect with roles. We can query the aspnet_users table and find the new user in there, but when we query the aspnet_usersinroles table, that user id is not present.

We're also unable to run the Roles.GetUsersInRole("somerole") method. It returns 0 records. When I run Roles.ApplicationName, it returns the correct name, so .NET should be passing the correct app name.

We're just a little baffled. If anyone could shed some light on what could be the issue, we would appreciate it.

Thanks! :)

RDL Rendering (500 Internal Server) Error at Sharepoint Integrated Reporting Service

I have a serious problem that cannot be solved by googling around the keywords below:
sharepoint, moss 2007, reporting service, ssrs 2008, rendering, internal server error, ....

The error is;

"An error occurred during client rendering. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. "

Everything is O.K.;

* When I render the report from the REPORTSERVER (http://localhost/ReportServer)
* When the reports are scheduled to be sent by the reporting service (planned via MOSS 2007)

But if I open (render) the RDL file from the sharepoint REPORTS LIBRARY interface, all of the reports fail with that internal error message above.

It is weird also that parametrized reports are displayed without errors although the parameters are queried from a sql dataset. But I got the error when rendering the report after I've chosen a parameter  and order "apply/report"...

Possible causes how I met that error may be;

After I have installed (then uninstalled) AJAX extensions
After I have re-configured IIS Web Service Extensions list items

Possible solution alternatives I've found;

I've found a solution on MSDN replying a similar issue with an ideal cause of the error but an evreka answer but no sol
