Calendar Overlays and Exchange 2010

Posted By: Posted Date: September 08, 2010 Points: 0 Category :SharePoint
I'm trying to setup a Calendar Overlay with Exchange on my project calendar. I can browse the OWA URL and the Exchange Web Service (.asmx) in Internet Explorer without any errors. Both URLs use https and are third-party signed. After I inupt the URLs into the Overlay config screen and save, Sharepoint attents to retrieve the calendar information and throws the follows error: "Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel with authority" on the calendar screen. Any ideas?

Can you use calendar overlays to show two Exchange 2003 conference room calendars in Sharepoint 2010

I want to use the calendar overlays to show an aggregate view of multiple conference room calendars on a single sharepoint 2010 foundation webpart. The calendars are resource calendars held on an SBS 2003 server. Is this possible? I get a 404 error if I try to navigate to https://myowaserver.contoso.com/EWS/exchange.asmx with IE. If I try the calendar I get the following error:

Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel with authority 'myowaserver.contoso.com'

These are the entries in the overlay calendar:

is SBS 2003 not supported?

SharePoint 2010 Calendar Webpart not showing overlays

I have made 4 overlays on one calendar and I figured I could add that calendar webpart to the homepage and it would show all the overlays, but it isn't doing that. Is there a way to show all the overlay calendars in the calendar webpart? Thanks!

SharePoint 2010 Foundation - Connecting to Exchange 2010 Calendar's

I've got a problem when trying to view additional calendars through SharePoint that my Exchange server has. The error states:

Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel with authority 'myservername.net'. (1b1a6f32-0128-4676-90a1-9501cc6b9805).

I've tried using direct IP addresses instead for the server name with no joy. If i change the calendar path name to use the OWA extensions as (as below) i receive the same error:

Outlook Web Access URL:

Exchange Web Service URL:

I select that the type of calendar is Exchange based and i am using Exchange 2010 SP1. Both servers are running Server 2008 R2 with the latest service pack. I have tried importing root certificates from Exchange to SharePoint server with no joy. Further, i have managed to get SharePoint to send e-mails interfacing directly with Exchange (to specify site group membership etc) so communication is occuring between the two seperate servers.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Sharepoint 2010 Calendar Overlay with Exchange 2007

I'm trying to add calendar overlays in Sharepoint 2010 however the OWA URL's don't seem to work. Everytime I use the following url:

I get an 'Unexpected Error'. After checking through the logs, it seems to be an XML exception.

System.Xml.XmlException: '=' is an unexpected token. The expected token is ';'. Line 1, position 520

The URL's that I'm using were taken from Technet, so I can only assume that they're correct. When I put the same URL's in the brow

Exchange Server 2007 SP1 mailbox migration into 2010

Hi Everyone, I’ve got all in one Exchange Server 2007 SP1 RU3 that got all in one role installed (HT-CAS-MBx) in Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 SP which is also running as domain controller with all FSMO role. I’m planning to migrate the Exchange Server 2007 server role into the Exchange Server 2010 Standard that I have prepared in my Virtual Machine of Windows Server 2008 R2, what is the safest migration path to make the email flow working end to end parallel (staging migration process). (please also not that this Exchange Server 2007 SP1 got so many problem like – OOF email error in Outlook 2007, meeting scheduler stopped working, etc… therefore updating it into SP3 is not the way here and I've backed up the mailbox using Backup Exec 2010 in case i can just restore the backed up mailbox into the new server 2010 if possible) My this is what I’m about to do: 1. Transfer all FSMO role into another domain controllers 2. Install and configure similar role in the new VM (Exchange Server 2010 Std.) 3. Confused… Things to do after all mailbox migration: 1. Cutover the MX record into the new server name 2. Install updated UCC- SSL certificate into the exchange server 2007 Any kind of help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated. SharePoint 2010 - "My Inbox"(OWA) webpart not working with Exchange 2010

Hi, I'm trying to setup the webpart "My Inbox" (OWA) in SharePoint 2010. It works when connecting to OWA running exchange 2007, but failes with error 400 not found when connecting to OWA running Exchange 2010. The error appears after logging in. I'm using this url: https://<exchangeserver>/owa I assume that this should be supported by Exchange 2010, but it seems to fail using this parameter /?cmd=contents. Any suggestions? Best regards, Petter

Add "New Calendar" to the site actions menu in SharePoint 2010

I really like how SharePoint 2010 uses Silverlight to allow users to create a new Document Library from the Site Actions menu. I would like to alter the v4.master page and add a new menu item to the Site Actions menu that allows the user to create a new Calendar. How do I alter the code below to make a new menu item that will create an events list? <SharePoint:MenuItemTemplate runat="server" id="MenuItem_CreateDocLib" Text="<%$Resources:wss,siteactions_createdoclib%>" Description="<%$Resources:wss,siteactions_createdoclibdesc%>" ImageUrl="/_layouts/images/NewDocLibHH.png" MenuGroupId="200" Sequence="220" UseShortId="true" ClientOnClickScriptContainingPrefixedUrl="if (LaunchCreateHandler('DocLib')) { GoToPage('~site/_layouts/new.aspx?FeatureId={00bfea71-e717-4e80-aa17-d0c71b360101}&ListTemplate=101') }" PermissionsString="ManageLists" PermissionMode="Any" VisibilityFeatureId="00BFEA71-E717-4E80-AA17-D0C71B360101" />

Sharepoint 2010 & Exchange Public folders?

HI All, We are planning to move our Public folders to SharePoint 2010. But Before I would do that. I would like to know: 1. Can we receive emails with attachments in Sharepoint 2010? If yes, how the attachments are stored? Inside the email or separate? 2. How the mail enabled library and lists are different from Mail enabled public folders and Distribution list? 3. What is the format of the mail, .msg or .eml when saved in SharePoint? 4. How do we view content of the sharePoint public folder site inside outlook client? 5. What are features of Public Folders that I can't accomplish using SharePoint 2010? Your help would be highly appreciated...

Email Problem with Exchange 2010

Good day, I recently upgraded a server of mine with a simple ASP site to server 2008 and it sent emails from exchange 2003 with no problems after the upgrade to server 2008. Here is the code: private void SendTextMessageCC(string fromAddress, string fromName, string toAddress, string subject, string body, string ccAddress) { try { MailAddress fromAdd = new MailAddress(fromAddress, fromName); MailAddress toAdd = new MailAddress(toAddress); MailAddress ccAdd = new MailAddress(ccAddress); MailMessage msg = new MailMessage(fromAdd, toAdd); msg.Subject = subject; msg.Body = body; msg.CC.Add(ccAdd); SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient("deexch1.****.com"); // localhost client.Send(msg); // msg.DeliveryNotificationOptions = 0; // 2 means OnFailure was 1 but that was error 0 okay means "None" } catch (SmtpException s) { lblSuccess.Text = s.Message; } } Now this week I upgraded my Exchange Server to 2010 and changed the smtpclient string accordingly above to SmtpClient("draw-mail1.****.com"). It will not send emails from the se

One-To-One Client Certificate Mapping in Exchange Server 2010 WCF Configuration

Hi.I am having a java client which has proxy classes generated with jax-ws to use the exchange web services (exchange server 2010). This proxy only supports SOAP11.What I need is to configure exchange servers with CAS role to (additionally to the default authentication) map one certificate to one windows accout. Until now I: imported the servers certificate and enabled it (import-ExchangeCertificate -fileData ([Byte[]]$(get-content -path <certpath> -encoding byte -readCount 0)) -password:<security-string pwd> | enable-ExchangeCertificate -services IIS) created a client certificate mapping in IIS 7 and here is where I got stuck What do I have to change in the "...\V14\ClientAccess\exchweb\ews\web.config" to get this scenario work? The web.config file looks like this: <services> <service behaviorConfiguration="EWSServiceBehavior" name="Microsoft.Exchange.Services.Wcf.EWSService"> <endpoint address="" binding="customBinding" bindingConfiguration="EWSHttpsBinding" contract="Microsoft.Exchange.Services.Wcf.IEWSContract"> <endpoint address="wssecurity" binding="customBinding" bindingConfiguration="EWSWSSecurityBinding" contract="Microsoft.Exchange.Services.Wcf.IEWSContract"

Add Calendar through code to page SharePoint 2010 - help

I am using code similar to the following. You can see some of the things i have tried (commented out lines) ListViewWebPart calendarWP = new ListViewWebPart(); SPList calendarList = site.Lists["Calendar"]; //SPView view = calendarList.Views["All Events"]; calendarWP.ListName = calendarList.ID.ToString("B").ToUpper(); calendarWP.TitleUrl = calendarList.DefaultViewUrl; calendarWP.WebId = calendarLis

Installing/Configuring Exchange 2010 to Accomodate Sharepoint 2007

My company is in the process of installing Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. I am interested in ideas of how best to configure Exchange 2010 so that SharePoint 2007 is in position to take optimal advantage of the features offered by Exchange 2010. Any feedback on this would be helpful. Thanks.

Exchange Update changed Calendar Functionality

Hi All,

After installing Exchange 2010 SP1, it appears that Sharepoint is behaving differently. When a user edits an instance of a recurring item on a calendar, it treats this as a creation (generates an "added" email and updates the created date/time to the current date/time).

Some users receive these emails and expect that an item was added instead of just being modified (this only applies to the first instance of editing a recurring event instance). I presume that this is due to the way that recurring events are handled in Exchange 2010? (probably only differences from the main are stored instead of creating a different object for each instance)

Has anyone found a way to work around this and emulate the old behavior?

Exchange 2003 Inbox and Calendar webparts for MOSS 2007

I've created one Inbox and one Calendar wepbart as descibed here:

using OWAInboxPart and OWACalendarPart (code below).

When deploying them and placing them on the same page, only one of them will show anything. It looks like the last added webpart works, while the other won't.
If any one of them is placed alone on a page, they work as expected.

Does anyone know how to make them work togheter on the same page?

Thank you for your time!

Best regards,
Hans Erik Storeide
