We have SQL SERVER 2008 STD Edition. Im not understanding an issue. We have SQL Agent Job that sends out reports to all users.We have user categorized as Analyst,Sales Rep,Sales Rep Sub & General Users. All the Users have security levels.I created a view which has all the Users.. My question is how do i merge it with the SQL JOB or how can i alter the SQL job query to delivery reports based on security level Analyst have security level 3, so i want groupof reports sent to them. use Pricing go Alter View dbo.User_Access AS select S.SR_name,u.SRID,sr.SRsub_name,u.SRID_SubID,U.Userid,u.username,u.Email,u.SecurityLevel,a.AnalystID from dbo.Users uleft  join tbl_Analyst a on a.AnalystID=u.UserIDleft join tbl_SalesRep s on s.SRID=u.SRIDleft Join tbl_SalesRep_Sub sr on sr.SRID_SubID=u.SRID_SubID

Reporting: Deliver User-Friendly Reports from Your Application with SQL Server Reporting Services

SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services--a server-based reporting platform built on the .NET Framework and integrated with SQL Server 2000--lets you easily add reporting from diverse data sources. Using Visual Studio and Reporting Services you can integrate reports from any data source that has an OLE DB, ODBC, or ADO.NET provider into your Web applications. This article explains how it's done.

How to check effective permissions for a user or group for a SQL server object or whole server?

Guys, How do I see effective permissions for a user or group for a SQL server object or whole server? For example, a user is not listed in security/logins, but he is a member of few groups and some of them have assigned permissions on SQL server (again either directly or through membership in other groups) Even when I select an object (a table), check properties/permission – it doesn’t let me select any principal, except those listed on security/logins… Anyway, what is the right way to see effective permissions for a user or group? Sorry for asking such a simple question, I’ve searched but found nothing relevant.

User Permissions

I am in need of some help regarding user permissions. I need users to be able to have read only permissions on all documents except their own, but when i have set this up i notice that the user can still Publish a Major Version. i have 6 department sites, each with their own document library, so i need to create groups for these departments so that i can assign users to, so that they can edit within their own department site but only read in other sites. so how can i set the permissions so that the user is unable to Publish documents and also is unable to delete anything that is not thie own?

User Profile Service account Write to AD Permissions

I followed this guide here (http://www.harbar.net/articles/sp2010ups.aspx) to provision the UPS service in sharepoint 2010. I found the guide very helpful and informative. Everything is working correctly except for the write back to AD I've followed the steps and have assigned the listed permissions to the UPS service account, however I still get permissiong errors in the FIM GUI Our AD is running in a 2008 environment but is in 2003 mode, so I made sure to add the UPS account to Pre Windows 2000 Compatible access built in group and restart the server so that the new group settings would take affect. Do I need to reprovision the UPS service or something? Or am I missing something completely. (Hopefully the latter lol!) Thanks RKB

Custom User Profile Views or Reports

Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to easily create reports or views for user profiles. For example, I want a list of all user profiles where the picture field is blank, though on other occasions I may want to check if Manager is blank, or Office = Sydney, etc. When in Shared Services Admin the 'View User Profiles' view doesn't give me any options to create a new view, add columns to the view or do anything basically. The standard view I look at just contains Account Name, Preferred Name and Email Address. There must be a way of getting this information out of Central Admin. Thanks, Paul.

User permissions in SharePoint 2010 act differently in http and https

I installed SharePoint 2010, created a site (complete with a document library), and assigned user permissions.  Additionally, I set up certificate authentication for all users.  Two problems occur: 1. As the system administrator, when I access the https site, I no longer have permissions to add/edit users 2. When user's, who have permissions to edit/add a document/folder click on "Add document" or the folder icon to add a new folder, they get an error. Any help is much appreciated.

User permissions do not reflect what the user can actually do

I just installed SharePoint 2010, created a site (while in Central Administration), and assigned user permissions in the site (down to the document level in a document library).  However, when a user, who has full control permissions, tries to add/edit a document he/she gets an error: List does not exist. The page you selected contains a list that does not exist.  It may have been deleted by another user.   Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation. User Permissions

How do i restrict the user(kumar) from editing document, and allow only user(ram) can change the status/edit the document.

User Permissions Help

I have issue i need some help or may be you can direct me. I am trying to set up User permissions for Report Server using SSMS. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156293.aspx Im following the instructions in the above link. What i need to know we have 100 users and each user needs a specific view of the report. Like  analyst1 user might view one report and analyst2 dont need to.Is there a query ? or a code where i would control the permissions. What happens if there are new users added?anyway to automate the assigning of roles? FYI in our DB we have all users tied to a security level.FM

Create report that lists every user with permissions for each folder

I would like to have a report that will list each user with it's roles for every folder. We have a very large RS database with a lot of folders, we need some better way to keep track of permissions. I created a report that utilizes "GetPolicies" from http://localhost/reportserver/ReportService2005.asmx but I have to feed a folder name to get list of users. I can also (by using subreport) list all folders with users. However, I am not able to produce a report where I have it broken by user. any idea?

User does not have required permissions to view Report Manager on SQL 2008 r2

Hi all, We are installing SQL Server 2008 r2 onto a server, and this installation includes Reporting Services. SSRS works, I can deploy reports, use Report Manager, Report Builder, etc., all using my admin privs. The problem is when NON-ADMIN users connect to \\server\reports.  They get the following error: User 'DOMAIN\user' does not have required permissions.  Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed. This error is resolved by giving the DOMAIN\user account local admin privs on the server. Granting admin privs is not a solution.  We have accountants and other non-technical people that will use Report Manager and Report Builder.  We can't just give every person admin privs on the production SQL server. I have done a lot of research on the web... I see a results involving earlier versions of SQL Server and Report Manager, but this is 2008 r2 - different webserver, etc. How can I resolve this issue?

user access reports

We've got a Sharepoint 2010 infrastructure that we're going to need to audit in a "who has access to what" type of report. Complicating things a bit is that we're using AD groups, so SharePoint often doesn't seem to know who's in whatever AD group, they just know the group has access.

But our auditors want to know what no-kidding-human-being has access to what. I was wondering if there is a native way to do this, and if not, any recommendations on third party software approaches? Thanks so much!

How to change item user permissions by workflow using item fields

Hi, thats not a question, but solution. I have read a lot of requests about how to perform this task, so here it is.

Code behind will run workflow which will take XXZ and XXY which are user fields and assign their values as "Full acces" and "Design" user permissions to given list item.

This workflow contains two sections. onWorkflowActivated1_Invoked and SetItemPermissionsEx.

using System;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.ComponentModel.Design;
using System.Collections;
using System.Drawing;
using System.Linq;
using System.Workflow.ComponentModel.Compiler;
using System.Workflow.ComponentModel.Serialization;
using System.Workflow.ComponentModel;
using System.Workflow.ComponentModel.Design;
using System.Workflow.Runtime;
using System.Workflow.Activities;
using System.Workflow.Activities.Rules;
using Microsoft.SharePoint;
using Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow;
using Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowActions;

namespace ITCSharepointAddons.Comm_UpdateItemPermissions
{
  public sealed partial class Comm_UpdateItemPermissions : SequentialWorkflowActivity
  {
    public Guid webID;
    public Guid siteID;
    public Guid listID;
    public int itemID;
    public Guid workflowId = default(System.Guid);
    public SPWorkflowActivationProperties workflowProperties = new SPWorkflowActivationProperties();

    publ

The permissions granted to user 'Domain\user' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsA

Hi, I've scoured the forums and tried just about every answer to this problem without any success.   What I have is SQL Server 2005 installed on a single machine, and trying to deploy reports to the same machine for testing purposes.  When I try to deploy the report I receive the permissions error. Here's what I've gotten to at this point:

  •   I can get to the reports URL (http://machine/Reports)
  •  I can login to Reporting Services via SQL Server Management Studio as the administrator.  (Windows Authentication)
  • I have added my login to the Home Folder-->Permissions in SQL Server Management Studio, and all reports are set to inherit the home folder's permissions
  • In Reporting Service Configuration Manager the Windows Service Identity is set to Local System, and for web service identity - ASP.NET Service Account is set to NT Authority\NetworkService; Report Server and Report Manager are set to DefaultAppPool.
  • In IIS I tried enabling Anonymous Authentication
  • Current Application pools are set to "Classic" for Managed Pipeline mode (I did this to actually be able to login to Reporting Services via SQL Server management stu

Site Usage Reports web User Interface not working

When we go to a subsite of a web application, we get the message: "No data is available for this report. Usage analysis might have been enabled recently, or there might have been insufficient usage to report in any values for the report"

We have followed the instructions to configure the site usage reports on the farm and have checked to see whether the reports feature is activated etc. We do have the logs folder location at default path and have ensured the wss_adm groups have the appropriate permission. We also have logs turned on at the iis web app area.

This problem is farm wide and occurs on the different web applications we have in the farm.

so plz any help???
