How would i go about doing this? I am writing  if value_changes then modalpop.Show but this does not work if there is other code within the button submit. Thanks in advance, Jon

Enabling/disabling CascadingDropDown using jquery

I have asp.net dropdownlist control with Ajax CascadingDropDown control.

I also I have asp.net checkbox control. I want to enable/disable CascadingDropDown when the checkbox checked/unchecked using jquery.

I tried diffrent ways but they did not work and if I want to set enable property for the dropdownlist to false it will not work so I have to set the CascadingDropDown enable property to false to disable it but I do not know how.

this is one of the code I tried:

<asp:CheckBox ID="chkWF" runat="server"  onclick="enableDDL"/>

<asp:DropDownList ID="WF" runat="server"></asp:DropDownList>

<cc1:CascadingDropDown ID="WF_CascadingDropDown" runat="server"

Enabling/disabling input controls in a form

I am writing a ASP.NET UserControl and I am trying to incorporate JQuery into this.
The control is a simple form with a few input fields (text, checkbox, select, radio).
The first element in the form is a checkbox. Upon clicking this checkbox I want the all the input elements in the form (except the checkbox control itself) to be enable/disable. I tried writing some of this code but my solution was not getting me anywhere.
Below is the ASP.NET form code. I'd appreciate the help with some code or pointers into what I am doing wrong.
 <asp:Panel ID="pnlInputControls" runat="server">
    <table style="width:100%;">
            <td style="width:50%">
                <asp:CheckBox ID="chkBenefitName" runat="server" Checked="true" TextAlign="Right" ClientIDMode="AutoID" style="padding:0 0 0

I have an idea of having two buttons on one page labelled "disable" and "enable". clicking disable should disable a particular link on another page and clicking enable should enable that same link.Any ideas? Thanks

Enabling/Disabling CSS based on Session value

I am rather new to MVC applications, and one thing I am trying to accomplish is enabling or disabling stylesheets based on a Session value.

I have stylesheets referenced in my Site.Master page in this manner:

<%=Html.Stylesheet("~/styles/main.css", "string")%>
<%=Html.Stylesheet("~/styles/additions.css", "string")%>

Right now, for testing, I have been putting an if statement around the Html.Stylesheet tags saying:

<% if (Session["cssRule"] = "enableCss") { %>

<%=Html.Stylesheet("~/styles/main.css", "screen")%>
<%=Html.Stylesheet("~/styles/additions.css", "screen")%>

<%} %>

So if the 'cssRule' Session value is null, no CSS loads. Currently this is working fine, but it is not exactly what I am looking for. Right now I set the Session value in the Controller when the user logs in, but ultimately I need to set the value of the Session variable depending on if a user clicks the enable or disable button. Since I have been primarily using webforms for the past year and a half, I just want to drop a hyperlink and set an event for it, but alas, this is the future of MVC so I need to figure out how I can do something like this..

So my real question is how can I set the Session of

Enabling/Disabling HTTPGet for Web Services

I have a web service project setup to allow only AnyHttpSoup requests though in the web.config.  I do not want to allow any get or post calls through.  Below is my setup in my web.config.

  <add name="AnyHttpSoap"/>
  <add name="Documentation"/>
  <add name="HttpPostLocalhost"/>
  <remove name="HttpGet"/>
  <remove name="HttpPost"/>
  <remove name="Unknown"/>

However, I would like to allow HTTPGet for just one method in my asmx file.  This method will be used by monitoring software to ensure the web services are working and available properly. (My monitoring software does not suppoer web services, however, if I am able to do at HTTPGet on the web web service, the monitor software should be able to pickup the response.)

Is is possible to disable HTTPGets for all web methods but just allow it for one web method?  If so, how?

Enabling Users to Maintain SharePoint Content

When SharePoint is installed as a corporate intranet, there is a considerable amount of effort involved in maintaining the content to keep the site relevant. As we discussed in the first few parts of this series, SharePoint has many built-in features to reduce the burden on the site administrator.

Some areas of the site usually contain less-dynamic information. Internal memos and corporate policies are common examples of this information. One option for this information is to post these documents in a document library. Documents in a library are often stored in a few different formats: Word, Acrobat (PDF), or HTML. Each of these formats has its drawbacks.

Modal popup window in ASP.Net

A Masked div or modal popup window is a child window created from the parent window which prevents the user from interacting with parent window before he returns to the parent application.

I thought this would be simple... Trying to create a login does an ajax check before submit

I have the standard .net login control that is working.  (Still learning .net after 15yrs of classic)

What I want to do is OnButtonClick run a javascript function (to do an ajax call to the db to check if login is valid or not) and if it returns true, then submit the form normally, else don't submit. The piece that I can't figure out, is how to correctly override the default click even to hit my JS routine and then submit the form properly afterwards.

Thanks ahead of time

Pass a grid column value to a Modal

Hi, I have a requirement to hide a field called details on a gridview and show it in a jQuery modal dialog when users click on the Customer ID hyperlink. This grid is created programmatically. I will be hiding the details column via the CSS display:none property. Does some one know how can I pass the grid's selected hidden column value to the modal? Here is some of the code I started:

            GridView mygrid = new GridView();
            //.....................................More columns code for the grid

            //Here is where I need to pass the Details column value associated with the customer ID field selected to the Modal and open the Modal dialog.
            HyperLinkField linkField = new HyperLinkField();
            string[] dataNavigateUrlFields = { "CustomerID" };
            linkField.DataTextField = "CustomerID";
