TSQL: Passing array/list/set to stored procedure (MS SQL Server)

Passing array/list/set to stored procedure is fairly common task when you are working with Databases. You can meet this when you want to filter some collection. Other case - it can be an import into database from extern sources. I will consider few solutions: creation of sql-query at server code, put set of parameters to sql stored procedure's parameter with next variants: parameters separated by comma, bulk insert, and at last table-valued parameters (it is most interesting approach, which we can use from MS SQL Server 2008). Ok, let's suppose that we have list of items and we need to filter this items by categories ("TV", "TV game device", "DVD-player") and by firms ("Firm 1", "Firm2", "Firm 3). It will look at database like this So we need a query which will return us list of items from database. Also we need opportunity to filter these items by categories or by firms. We will filter them by identifiers. Ok, we know the mission. How we will solve it? Most easy way, used by junior developers - it is creating SQL-instruction with C# code, it can be like this List<int> categories = new List<int>() { 1, 2, 3 };   StringBuilder sbSql = new StringBuilder(); sbSql.Append( @" select i.Name as ItemName, f.Name as FirmName, c.Name as CategoryName from Item i inner join Firm f on i.FirmId =

How to read a column of a sharepoint list to a text string field of infopath form?

My infopath form used to read these email addresses from a web service and web.config file. Now i would like to get these user email addresses from a contact list in a sharepoint server. I am trying to do this without writing any codes. Here is what i have done so far: 1. Adding a new "data connection to receive data from SharePoint library or List" where i selected Email Address column of the contact list. 2. I added a new Text Field and define a new rule with "Query using a data connection" defined above. When i try to access the newly created Text field above it always return empty as if the Query attached to it did not executed at all. What did i do wrong? Is there a better way? Thank you in advance for your help.

ComboBox Display list does not update if a datasource is a boxed string

I have a combo box databound to a BindingSource bound to a List<Holder> it has Holder.Name as its display value. I also have a text box bound to Holder.Name but if I change the text in the text box it will not change what is displayed in the combo box. Changing selected items and changing back will show the updated text in the text box but will still have the old value displayed in the combo box. How do I make the item in the combo box update? namespace Sandbox_Form { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); lstBroken = new List<Holder>(); lstBroken.Add(new Holder("test1")); lstBroken.Add(new Holder("test2")); bsBroken = new BindingSource(lstBroken, null); cmbBroken.DataSource = bsBroken; cmbBroken.DisplayMember = "Name"; txtBroken.DataBindings.Add("Text", bsBroken, "Name"); lstWorks = new List<string>(); lstWorks.Add("test3"); lstWorks.Add("test4"); bsWorks = new BindingSource(lstWorks, null); cmbWorks.DataSource = bsWorks; txtWorks.DataBindings.Add("Text", bsWorks, null); } } public class Holder { public Holder(string name) { Name = name; } public string Name { get; set; } } }

Now the order is like this and below the example is the sorted order I after to achieve: ( .Sort() does not sort it in this order)List<String> Listing = new List<String>(); Listing.Add("1.txt"); Listing.Add("23.txt"); Listing.Add("12.txt"); Listing.Add("3.txt"); Listing.Add("2.txt"); //Sort so the above list have this order ? Order list by string value

Hi, I need to order a list of items, by a string value...e.g. 635, 955, 5820, 1010 should appear as 635,955,1010,5820, however it shows up as 1010, 5820, 635, 955 because it's a string and not an integer.I cannot convert to integer, it must eb a string value. Any suggestions as to how this can be done simply using a string value?

Cannot send List inside of Dictionary

Html.DropDownList using a List

This has to be a simple thing, but for whatever reason, I'm just not finding it. I want to use the HTML Helper function to create a DropDownList based on a List<string> (and actually have it bind to the data field on the model).  The simplest example, I suppose, would be: <%: Html.DropDownList("Material", new SelectList(new[] {"Wood","Brick","Metal"})) %> This creates the items in the drop-down, but of course, there's nothing in this line that would bind it to my model (model.Material).  I've done drop-downs with collections of models, where you can bind the Data and Display attributes to properties of the class, but I don't have a class here, just a List. Any ideas?

Passing List to WCF Service

Hi, All, I'm not sure this has been covered before.  I did search, but not sure that any of those responses apply: I'm relatively new to WCF. I have the following classes:  PostAddress, EmailAddress, PhoneNumber, ContactInformation and, Person.  The ContactInformation contains each a List<PostAddress>, List<EmailAddress>, List<PhoneNumber> property.  The Person class has a ContactInformation property. When I pass my Person object to my WCF service, my ContactInformation Lists values are null.  For example: I create an address with: street, city, state, zip, country and add it to my List<PostAddress> I add the list to the Person's ContactInformation's List<PostAddress> Property I pass it to the WCF Service.  At that time, I have this: Person.ContactInformation.Addresses.Count = [the number of addresses in the list] Person.ContactInformation.Addresses[index].property = null My service inferface looks like this (I haven't fully sketched it all out yet): [   ServiceContract]     public interface IMyService { [   OperationContract]     bool FoundDuplicate( Person p ); [   OperationContract]     void SubmitNewMembership( Person p, Membership m ); } I'm using Visual Studio Ultimate 2010/.NET 4 on Windows 7 Professional Edition if that

help passing generic list to method

I have several lists in one class. When I add an class/object  to a list I want to be able to check if it doesn't exist already in the list. I've done this using a method that checks the particular list individually but would require a method for each list eg

private bool checkShipList (List<Ship> ship, Ship newship)

//check list code

How can I make it so I use only one method for all lists and can pass the new object to it to check. I used List<T> in the method but can't get it right with the second parameter. Thanks for any help.

A Href removing space when passing a string in a email

In an email action I'm building a string using an <A href.  I'm working with a list called Document Sets and also a column called Document Set.  I'm passing to a page the current document set in order to filter a web part.

Here is the example

<A href="http://test.net/sites/r3bs/DocSetPAHO/Site%20Pages/dynamic.aspx?DocumentSet=<%Document Set%>">Click here to review the items.</A>

The problem is that when the document set column data contains a space (such as Company Overview), the email removes the space between Company and Overview (as seen below).  If I add the Document Set column to the email directly it displays fine with the space

[%Document Sets:Document Set%]

I've tried storing the value to a workflow variable but it still removes the space in the actual email.

Custom Action for specific External Content Type List

I have an External Content Type list instance feature in Visual Studio. Deploying the instance works fine. However, I can't create a custom action using RegistrationId="{$ListId:Lists/yourlistname;}" RegistrationType="List"

Even if I specify the list Id as follows RegistrationId="{8F595340-5D08-4287-8BF6-30D50989D2F4}" or RegistrationId="8F595340-5D08-4287-8BF6-30D50989D2F4" I get nothing.

However, RegistrationId="600" works fine, but for all External Content Type lists.

I added the custom action with SharePoint Designer and it works as expected. When I generate a site template and import it into Visual Studio, the custom action uses RegistrationId="{$ListId:Lists/yourlistname;}" RegistrationType="List"

Creating a new site based on the site template creates the custom action correctly. However, deploying just the custom action does not work (feature deploys, but no custom action appears). I also tried RegistrationId="0x0100D67E541CC4BB6A4A9D62D22657ECFF68" RegistrationType="ContentType" with no luck. The content type id was pulled from the list instance using the object model.

I have to tie the custom action to a specific list instance. Because the li
