Issue with Job schedule table?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 08, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi there, I'm trying to create a table/sheet that will display an employer's job schdeule for the week. Most of the information will come from several tables within a database. This table/sheet will consists of the following columns: Job ID Description Comments-> These 3 columns/fields represent actual colums within the database 7 columns representing days of the week, with the first column representing Today's date, the next column representing the next day...-> The 7 columns for the dates will not come from the database itself (as opposed to the other columns). These will be updated daily to represent the employer's schedule for the week. MY ISSUE IS THIS: One of the DB tables holds a column "StartDate" (which represents the start date of a phase within a particular job). I need to check whether this "StartDate" is equal to the date column (the image will make this more clear). Obviously, 1 job has MANY phases. An example of a such table would as follows (for the employee whose D_ID is = '555'):     Any ideas how I can create such a table?? Should it be done in recursive html? Or gridlist? repeater??... Thanks for any info   BTW, I posted this in the "Web forms" section, but I guess it is more suited to be posted here, as it is a databound issue.

How can I create a Table to represent a Job schedule sheet?

I have the following database, consisting of 3 tables: Job, JobPhase, Assigned (as seen in the following image) I'm trying to create a page that will hold a table. The table will represent, for a particular employee (ID = D_ID), his/her corresponding Job Schedule sheet. This table will consists of the following columns: Job ID Description (from table 'Job') Comments (from table 'Assigned') 7 columns representing days of the week, with the first column representing Today's date, the next column representing the next day...-> The 7 columns for the dates will not come from the database itself (as opposed to the other columns). However, for each row, we have to check wether the start date(s) of the job's phase(s) are equal to the date column (the image will make this more clear) An example of a such table would as follows (for the employee whose D_ID is = '555'): Any ideas how I can create such a table?? Should it be done in recursive html? Or gridview maybe?? Thanks for any info

Updating multiple Indexes on a table - Performance issue

Hi

I have a performance issue when trying to update a table with multiple indexes. The table itself has about 280 million rows. The selection of the records is fast, about 160 ms, as it has a suitable non-clustered index. However the update itself takes over 10 minutes.

When I look at the excution plan, it shows the update to the clustered index as well 5 other non clustered index which are being affected by the statement. Unfortunately it doesn't show me how those indexes are being accessed. I suspect that the update statement is performing a full index scan against each of the non-clustered indexes in order to do the update.

So my question is this, if i add the key columns of the other non-clustered indexes as included columns on the index used to select the records for update will sqlserver use them to access the additional non-clustered indexes?

any advice greatly appreciated

Table Copy Paste Fuctionality issue in Rich Text Box

Hello Team,

I'm working with Rich Text Box in WPF. When I'm trying to Copy a table from MS Word (which does not have borders) and Paste it on Rich text box it looses it's formatting. Instead of table two lines are comming.

Steps to Produce :

1. Open a Ms Word Document and Insert a table(Say 4x4).

2. Apply Design for that table-any  Light Shading - Accent 5 or Accent 4...

3. Copy the table and Paste it on RichTextBox.

Observe the result. It's giving two lines instead of Table which I've copied

This is Urgent requirement for me. Please, Give a solution for this problem

Performance issue populating fact table

I have an ETL job that runs fine until it gets to the step to populate the fact table. It runs for ages, without adding the new data. It used to run in 2 minutes, but I have not changed the definition of the fact table or the dimension tables referenced in the joins.

If I copy the FROM statement from the table definition and use it to perform a SELECT COUNT(*) I get the total back in 5 seconds. There are only 1.3 million rows at present.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why the count runs so quickly yet the actual data upload seems to stall?

Thanks in advance.

Table with Identity column issue

Hi all

I am using SQL CE 3.5, and I created a table with Identity column as PK (say I have columns ID, Name), but for somehow the table has very strange behavior. When I do insert statement

insert into table_a (Name) values ('Test Name')

I got message "ErrorMessage: The column cannot contain null values. [ Column name = ID,Table name = table_a]".

Then I ran

set identity_insert table_a off

And run the same insert statement above, I got "ErrorMessage: A duplicate value cannot be inserted into a unique index. [ Table name = table_a,Constraint name = PK_table_a ]"

Any idea what did I mess up with the table here? I checked carefully, the column Identitiy attribute is "True", Identity seed is 1, Identity increatment is 1.

Thanks

Hardy

Column does not belong to table - issue

Hello there,

I have an application which version upon version we run a set of database updates (adding columns hither and yon)

We have been running on an access database and have just switched to using a CE database. It's a winforms application and the database isn't tracked or used in a synchronised environment.

I have added an integer column to one of my tables. I have checked that it has been created using SQCCE viewer. It is most definately there, yet when I try and read a value into the colum, I get the following error:

Column '' does not belong to table assesments.

I have switched the application back to an access database and it is working as intended (Column is created and values are read in and out).

Thanks for any help,

d3

Export Visio Database Table Names to Excel

If you use the Enterprise Architect edition of Microsoft Visio for data modeling regularly, then there is a good chance that at some point you've wanted to export just the table names into Excel. You might want to do this to map logical ERD entities to physical data model tables, track project status by entity, or track overlap between database versions.

Insert value using Table Value Functions

a real gem in Sql Server 2008. mostly people still using Stored procedure may be they shifted to SQL Server but they are not using TVF right now.

Using jQuery to Filter Table Rows

The project is using the .net GridView control, so I had limited control over the output HTML code. Still, I think this code can work for most tables. One thing to notice: you should use the class "filterable" on your table or on one of its parents for the code to work.
First, we need a text box:

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers in asp.net

The RadioButtonList. Very handy for inviting users to select just one item from a list although because of the screen real estate it takes up, used less and less in favour of the DropDownList. In plain HTML, the browser knows to enforce the unique selected value amongst a list of radio buttons because they all have the same value for their name attributes.

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers

(In which AJAX-enhanced CheckBoxes become more useful than RadioButtons but inheritance saves the day, and a simple RadioButton-derived control establishes the purpose of a control's naming container)

Building a 3-Tier App with Silverlight 3, .NET RIA Services, and Azure Table Storage

Silverlight 3, .NET RIA Services, and Windows Azure Services Platform makes a 3-tier Cloud application easier to build: Silverlight 3 as presentation tier, .NET RIA services as the business logic and data access tier, and Windows Azure Table as the data storage tier. The sample application in this article demonstrates the architecture with a simple Survey application with all these technologies working together from Windows Azure.

Temporary tables in SQL Server vs. table variables

When writing T-SQL code, you often need a table in which to store data temporarily when it comes time to execute that code. You have four table options: normal tables, local temporary tables, global temporary tables and table variables. I'll discuss the differences between using temporary tables in SQL Server versus table variables.

Import XML File to SQL Table

Here is a brief example of importing an XML file into SQL Server table. This is accomplished by using the BULK option of OPENROWSET to load the file, and then utilizing the XQuery capabilities of SQL Server to parse the XML to normalized table format. This example requires SQL server 2005 or SQL Server 2008.

First, the following XML is saved to XML file C:\Products.xml.

IsapiModule Error 500 Issue

I am about exhausted trying to figure out this error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x8007007b

Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler

Module: IsapiModule

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/ReportServer

Physical Path: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer

When I enable Failed Request Tracing Rules and view the log output I am supposing that the actual problem is in the 2nd call where there are 2 backslashes before the actual filename in the specified path:

ISAPI_START

CALL_ISAPI_EXTENSION DllName="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\\aspnet_isapi.dll"

Adding the table row below a particular row.

What is the best method in jQuery to add an additional row to a table as the row below a particular row?

MVC2 issue - Stuck. Trying to create a cms with nested partials

I am currently trying to display multiple items on a single page. I am not sure as to how to tackle this. What I have is a database table that has all the page data in. I have this run as a PagesController and this works fine. However what I would like to do is, if say the Products page is selected via the menu, I want to pull back not only the Products page html but also get all the products, and even be able to pull them through via category. I was trying to use a partial view, but I can't get it to work. The same would be for other pages, having partial views to display the other content, ie if Gallery is selected, the page html for Gallery shows and it then can push to a partial view that pulls all the gallery images from the gallery db table and so on.

Maybe I am tackling this the wrong way. I have the pages stored in the db to allow for a CMS system I have setup. Maybe I need to use models for all the other items(Products, Gallery, Videos and such) and use the partial for the page html?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am confused.
