Reuse a gridview within calendar control

Hello, I have a calendar control that will have events displayed within each cell.

I want to use a pre formatted gridview and simply bind the gridview with a dataset dynamically and display it within the cell of the specified day.

Is there a way to do that or do I have to dynamically build a gridview for every day that there is an event?

So here is the template gridview and datasource:

 <asp:SqlDataSource ID="sqlcalitemtemp" runat="server"
        ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:NNTrainingdbconnection %>"
        SelectCommand="SELECT NN_Fire_Events.Start_Time, NN_Fire_Events.End_Time, tblNN_Fire_Cli

Cutting Edge: Code reuse in WPF and Silverlight 2.

There's a strong similarity between Web-based Silverlight 2 applications and desktop WPF applications. Enabling easy code reuse between the two is Dino's focus here.

AOP: Aspect-Oriented Programming Enables Better Code Encapsulation and Reuse

Aspect-oriented Programming (AOP), a paradigm invented at Xerox PARC in the 1990s, lets the developer better separate tasks that should not be inextricably tangled, such as mathematical operations and exception handling. The AOP approach has a number of benefits. First, it improves performance because the operations are more succinct. Second, it allows programmers to spend less time rewriting the same code. Overall, AOP enables better encapsulation of distinct procedures and promotes future interoperation.

how to evaluate nothing value returned by sql datareader in vb.net

When a sql query returns NULL , I can use the following code to evaluate:

While (dr.Read())
                If IsDBNull(dr(0)) Then
                End If
            End While

When a sql query returns nothing, neither IsDBNull nor is Nothing works.  I don't know why some sql queries return null while some return nothing when there are no data returned.  But anyway, can somebody tell me how to evaluate nothing value returned in sql datareader in vb.net?  When I put the cursor over signInfo variable in debug mode, I can see Nothing show as its value.  But the line does not work

if signInfo is Nothing then

Thank you!

Loop with DataReader

Hi.  I am having a really hard time with this code trying to loop through a datareader, and then enter the data into another table.  The logic is that I get 2 columns path and document_no from an Oracle Database.  I then need to check if the file in the path column is a valid path.  If it is not valid, it should be inserted into a SQL Server 2005 database.  My code is below, can anyone help?  I'm getting a headache from it.  If any further info is needed just let me know.  Thanks.

Do While oraReader.Read()
                path1 = oraReader("Path")
                docno = oraReader("Document_No")
                If (System.IO.File.Exists(path1)) Then
                    sqlCmd = New SqlCommand("INSERT INTO CHECKLINKS1 (DOCUMENT_NO) VALUES (@doc)", conn)
                    sqlCmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@doc", docno)
                End If

How to reuse a SSL-Session

Hello, I connect to a server using ftps (ftp over tls).  Both the control-connection and the data-connection shall be encrypted as specified in RFC4217. I use .net 2.0 and the SSLStream to initially establish the control-connection and this works just fine. For transferring any data encrypted using the data-connection i have to resume the SSLSession of the control-connection. The Server does not only support this but also requests this behaviour in order to establish a valid data-connection. My problem is now: how do i set up an encrypted connection that uses an already negotiated SSLSession. I havent found any references about that topic in the net and SSLStream doesnt seem to support it. My first hope was the cache of the framework to reuse any cached sessions for new ones but this didnt work. Thanks in advance for any helpful hints. Windows Mobile 5 , SQLSERVER/EXPRESS VB.Net 2005 Datareader NullException

Hi all, Recently I have started learning developing Smart Device Applications using .Net.Am using WM 5.0 SQLServer 2005 Express and VS 2005 (VB). In my application, I made a form with some comboboxes and other fields.In the form load am calling a function in my classfile.This function intends to fill the combobox.Please refer the codes below. 1 . The Form Load event in the Form Imports ShoppingList.DB Public Class frmMain Dim objDB As New DB Private Sub frmMain_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load objDB.FillComboBox(cmbCat, "SELECT * FROM TABLE ORDER BY ID_PK") End Sub End Class 2 .Now the DB cls file Imports System Imports System.Data Imports System.Data.SqlClient Public Class DB Dim strCon As String = "Data Source=,1010;Initial Catalog=DB_Shopping;User ID=***;Password=****" Public Sub FillComboBox(ByVal cmbTarget As ComboBox, ByVal Sql_SP As String) Dim dbConn As New SqlConnection(strCon) Dim sqlCMD As New SqlCommand(Sql_SP, dbConn) Try dbConn.Open() Dim dr As SqlClient.SqlDataReader dr = sqlCMD.ExecuteReader() 'dr = sqlCMD.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.SequentialAccess) While dr.Read() cmbTarget.Items.Add(dr(0)) End While

How to assign data from 1 DataReader into Parent/Child object??

Hi I have a parent & child table. Parent - User UserID UserName Status 1 Shallin A 2 How A   Child - UserAccess UserID Country Default 1 US 0 1 UK 0 1 MY 1 2 SG 0 2 HK 0 2 MY 1   I also have parent & child object class.       I would like to use 1 C# function and 1 SP to handle the retrieve portion but I have 1 problem. I'm not sure how to assign the value from Reader to the object.   I do something like this but I only get 1 country which is the last country. if (dr.HasRows) {     while (dr.Read())     {         User objUser = new User();         objUser.UserID = dr["User_ID"].ToString().Trim();         objUser.UserName = dr["UserName"].ToString().Trim();         objUser.UserStatus = dr["Status"].ToString().Trim();         UserAccess objUserAccess = new UserAccess();         objUserAccess.Country = dr["Country"].ToString().Trim();         objUserAccess.Default = dr["Default"].ToString().Trim();         objUser.UserAccessCollection = new UserA

Is it Possible to Reuse a Trigger on Multiple Controls Easily?

I have a simple trigger that is generic such that I would like to reuse it on 15 different labels. Can I define it in one place somehow and just assing it to each of the labels rather than just pasting the same code into the style for each label?

CA1063 : Microsoft.Design : Ensure that 'PageContentGrid.Dispose()' is declared as public and seal

OK... I'm getting my DB context like so: private ssCMSDataContext _dataContext; protected ssCMSDataContext DbContext { get { if (_dataContext == null) { _dataContext = new ssCMSDataContext(); } return _dataContext; } } public override void Dispose() { if (_dataContext != null) { _dataContext.Dispose(); } base.Dispose(); } When I run the code analysis I get the following warnings:  "CA1063 : Microsoft.Design : Ensure that 'PageContentGrid.Dispose()' is declared as public and sealed." "CA1063 : Microsoft.Design : Modify 'PageContentGrid.Dispose()' so that it calls Dispose(true), then calls GC.SuppressFinalize on the current object instance ('this' or 'Me' in Visual Basic), and then returns.  I don't understand what it wants me to do?  Little help....

most reuse

The idea of making one business application for multiple use is pretty attractive. I imagine you'll always have to make some kind of alteration for target use but I'm also very willing to believe different coding styles can work for or against you. As far as ASP.net business crud applications isn't sticking with web forms your safest way to be able to more easily alter the app for a sharepoint webpart, asp web-part and/or mobile app? If not, which, MVC? If neither, which covers most bases? Why?

Dispose usage on managed resources

Hi,In my application i donot have/use unmamaged resources. is it necessary to implement dispose method ? Will not the GC clear it automatically ? if i have to use dispose what's benefit ?Vijaykishan | http://v2attechhorizon.blogspot.com

Datareader: Set multiple random images into appropriate image field

Hi, first of all, sorry if my title isn confusing as i dont really sure the specify description regarding what i wan to do.   Now what i trying to do is, I getting 5 random images from the database, this is the code for me to get random 5 records from database: Dim command As New SqlCommand("SELECT TOP 5 Description,Image,ImageID FROM Properties ORDER BY ImageID", con)  and with the help of image handler to display it to 5 Images components i put in the page, lets say name it "Image1" to "Image5". Now the question is, how do i assign the 5 diff imageID into the 5 image components? Lets say i wan my Image1's imageID is 1, and Image2's imageID is 2. What im doing now is assigning all the same imageID to all 5 images. Below is how i assign the imageIDDim reader As SqlDataReader reader = command.ExecuteReader If reader.HasRows = True Then While reader.Read Image1.ImageUrl = "GetThumbnail.aspx?ImageID=" & reader("ImageID") & " " Image2.ImageUrl = "GetThumbnail.aspx?ImageID=" & reader("ImageID") & " " Image3.ImageUrl = "GetThumbnail.aspx?ImageID=" & reader("ImageID") & " " Image4.ImageUrl = "GetThumbnail.aspx
