Hello All,       We are getting EventID17052 in one of our production server from last 3 months. SQL Server Agent is restarting on its own. Triggering an event to occur within a VB.NET app if something is inserted into an SQL Server table

Let's say SQL Server is inserting arow within a table. Is there a way to let VB.NET know that an event was fired (being the inserting of the row within the table), without the need to query anything. Bascially having SQL Server tell the VB.NET app that an event was fired. It seems like it might be possible using CLR and the .NET framework integration wthin SQL Server, but I haven't found a sample program showing what I'm attempting. I understand that this topic covers SQL Server and VB.NET.  This need being for both and this forum only set for SQL Server, I thought I'd take the risk and post in this forum. Thank you in advance for any assistance.Newbie

Event receiver deployment on remote server

I have created an EventReceiver using visual studio 2010. Tested on test server and it works ok.

Now I have tried to deploy to production server. Created package.wsp and deployed on the site.

I might add that I can see in the Central Administration / Solution Management that solution is deployed.

After that I have activated feature. All went OK. But the custom validation in the receiver does not work. It looks like its not deployed well.

Is there enything that should be done to activate EventReceiver on remote server?

Does SQL Server has the similar function just like Trace Event 10104 for hash join in Oracle?

My question is  how can SQL server display the  information about the buckets when doing the hash join just like the function of Trace Event 10104 in Oracle.By the way ,In Oracle ,the Event 10104 event dumps hash join statistics .
The buckets message what i needed is similar as the following, that is to say ,it must contains the information about buckets .
01 ### Hash table ###
02 # NOTE: The calculated number of rows in non-empty buckets may be smaller
03 # than the true number.
04 Number of buckets with 0 rows: 16373
05 Number of buckets with 1 rows: 0
06 Number of buckets with 2 rows: 0
07 Number of buckets with 3 rows: 1

I found the solution of this error. I am using moss2010 there are two possibility for this kind of error

1>your code containing some logical error like you are fetching query string or something like that you need to first check is found or not

2>check your content type that, is your published content type default or sherepoint content type is default?

if you are facing no. 2 problem then make your published content type the default one and you can resolve the error.

WMI Event Watcher on a Clustered SQL Server

I have an SSIS package that uses the WMI Event Watcher task to watch the file system for a file to be dropped into a directory. When the file is dropped in the package processes that file.

This all worked well in dev and test. But when I move to production I have a problem. My produciton server is a cluster. I am attempting to watch a directory on a cluster drive. However, I am unable to get events triggered off that drive. THere are no errors the package starts up OK but when I drop a file into the watch directory nothing happens. If I configure the package to watch the C drive it works fine. So I am pretty sure something is different when watching a cluster drive.

The server is SQL 2008 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit.

Here is my connection: \\servername Namespace: \root\cimv2

Here is my query: SELECT * FROM __instancecreationevent WITHIN 10 WHERE TargetInstance ISA 'Cim_DirectoryContainsFile' AND TargetInstance.GroupComponent='Win32_Directory.Name=V:\\\\FileTransfer'

Does anyone know what I should be doing differently?

Thanks in advance.
