I downloaded all the files (Source Code, DLL, Browser) I believe I need to add the DLL file to my website's Bin folder and the Browser file to the APP_Browsers folder is this correct? After I place this files how to I get it working? what do I have to do?

Also if I want to create a new DLL file from the Source code how do I do these? I opened the web-site with Visual Studio 2008 and I can see all the files in the solution explorer? But how do I compile this to a DLL file? I tried doing a build solution but all I get is an .sln file???

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

I have installed the CSS friendly control adapters for my menus and treeview because the designer did the entire job in with <div><ul><li> instead of tables   so to adapt I installed the CSS adapter. Tyat worked great for my menu and treeview. Really. The thing is that I dont need the adapter for anything else then my menu and treeview But when I navigate to a page that has a regular wizard control (not a create user wizard) then it gets stuck on 1 line of code and gives the following error:  Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.WizardStep' to type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.TemplatedWizardStep'. What can I do? can I dissable part of the adapters to not adapt my wizard? When I get the error It is normally stuck on that line opf code below which is underlined and bold. Missing Custom Control Library Project Template in Visual C# 2010 Express?

I am using Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express Version 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel and I want to add a Project for a WPF Custom Controls library. Note: The WPF Custom Control Item Template is included and can be added to a WPF Application project.

Does anyone know:

  2. Where is the online documentation that states exactly which features are and are not included in each edition?
  3. What can be recomended as a work around?

No combobox ajax control visible in Visual Studio 2008 web project

Greetings -

New user to Visual Studio 2008 - one of the reasons for upgrading from 2005 was because I wanted to use the AJAX Toolbox Control for combobox in my web forms.

Have started a new project, have told it to use .net 3.5 for the project, but when I go to the ajax tooklkit in the toolbox panel there is no combobox.  Could someone please tell me why it isn't there?

Control Adapter

Our solution currently uses a WebControlAdapter to run various tasks before selected events like OnInit and OnLoad are processed.  On deployment, our solution creates a .browser file in the app_browser folder of the site and the adapter works as expected.  This has worked well up until converting the solution to SharePoint 2010.   The deployment appears to run fine and the .browser file is created, but when the site is first accessed by the browser, the adapter defined in the .browser file is not loaded (it does not show in the list of current adapters i.e. System.Web.HttpContext.current.Request.Browser.Adapters).

The curious thing to point out here is that the adapter will start to work and the adapter will show as loaded (again in System.Web.HttpContext.current.Request.Browser.Adapters), if a Dll in the bin folder of the site is removed from the site then replaced with the same DLL.   Other tasks will also cause the adapter to start working, like running "UpgradeSolution" on the original solution.

I've tried just about everything imaginable, but the only change that seems to work is to place the .browser file in the SharePoint browser folder (Program files\common files\mic

New Web Server Control with ajax - but which project to use

I want to create a new web server control that adds AJAX functionality to the existing asp.net 3.5 gridview control. But I am not sure which project to use - asp.net server control, or asp.net ajax server control.

Can anyone guide me?

The project file is not bound to source control, but the solution contains source control binding in

This may be more of a SQL Server Management Studio question, but I couldn't find a SSMS forum...

I've got a database solution that contains several projects.  They're just to keep track of changes to stored procedures, triggers, views, etc in a few databases I maintain.  There is a problem with two of the projects though.  No matter what I do, I can't seem to get them bound to source control right.  When I open the solution, I get:

The project file is not bound to source control, but the solution contains source control binding information for it.

With two options, use solution binding and remove solution binding.  If I keep the solution binding, everything works fine.  But it's really annoying to have to deal with every time I open the solution.  If I remove the solution binding, the projects are now unbound again.  If I try to fix them (using the change source control or Add Selected Projects to Source Control options under the File->source control menu), I just end up in the same situation.  I've even tried deleting the projects and re-creating them from scratch, then re-adding them to VSS.  If I open the solution files in a text editor I can see the SCC tags in every project, but these two.  Since I can't manually add the tags, and Management Studio itself only seems to want to bind them the wrong way, I'

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

Accessing the different controls inside a GridView control

how we can access a particular control which resides inside a GridView control. In this article I will show you how you can access different controls inside a GridView control. We will see how we can access a TextBox control, a DropDownList control and a ListBox control. If you are working with ASP.NET 1.X then you might want to check out my article Accessing Different Controls Inside a DataGrid.
