How to add user controls into toolbox?

Hello, I have created a user control with ComboBox  & TreeView together. I want to use this control as a component so that I can drag and drop this control to other windows form! So what are the steps to get user control into toolbox? THANKS!

Problem with user controls and the toolbox

Im building a control library, its just a library that builds to a dll with a bunch of user controls. But So far I can only get "user controls" to be loaded into the toolbox in a separate project. Many on my user controls need only be derived from a specific control and I often find using a user control is unnecessary for the control. So the question is, how can I get a control that is not derived from the user control class, to show in the toolbox, in a separate project? Another thing I would like to decorate my controls with an icon for the toolbox. I tried [ToolboxBitmap("Filename")] at the top of the class but it did not work for me.AbleOpus.ath.cx

WPF Designer not displaying controls in the toolbox VS2008 Prof Edn running on Windows 7

My Version Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0.30729.4462 QFE Microsoft .NET Framework Version 3.5 SP1 I have windows 7 home premium running on my machine I installed Visual C# 2008 Express Edn with SP1 first I got that running I then installed rest of the Express components including SQL. I then installed Visual Studio 2008 Prof Edn with .Net 3.5 SP1 I then installed .Net 4.0 I run two instance of  C# IDEs. The Pro End and the Express Edn. Both Express/Prof C# versions display controls in toolbox for Windows Forms correctly. I only have problems with controls in toolbox for WPF in VS 2008 Prof Edn. My Scenario : When I use Express Edition the design view of the WPF Designer, it displays the toolbox with controls populated for WPF that I can use. When I use Pro Edition the design view of the WPF Designer, it displays the toolbox with  NO controls visible for WPF  that I can use.  The toolbox has only  "general" tab with the words "not usable controls....". If I do a show all it does show controls but they are disabled/read only. When I look at the Tools -> Choose Toolbox Item , I get the tools dialog box. Inside the box within the WPF Components TAB all controls are not ticked/selected. If I tick the Button Control and select OK, the control does not appear on the toolbox. I have done reset Toolbox no change. I

Hi All,

I add a tools of AJAX toolkit version for VS 2008.But it's not added to my toolbox. So I click the "Reset Toolbox".

After i clicked , the entire tools are gone.I reinstall the entire visual studio,Still its not come.

Anybody know how to enable the toolbox (aspx controls)?..

controls list in toolbox disabled

I just upgraded from 3.5 to 4.0 and downloaded and installed the AJAX toolkit to my toolbox. However, all the controls in the AJAX list (and other "non-standard" lists also, such as Silverlight and Form controls) are disabled. What to do?

ToolBox do not show newly added controls after restart

Recently i am working in VS2008 installed in windows xp SP2. In the toolbox i added a new tab and added some third party controls in the toolbox, by using "Choose Item" dialog.. I also added Ajax ToolKit to the tool box. It worked fine and i could drag n drop controls.

But then if i restart VS2008, all the tabs i created and controls in it goes off and disappears including Ajax Toolkit. Each time i restart it, I have to have add those controls newly???

Is this a Bug?? or Is there any solution for this??

Thnx in Advance..

Custom Controls in C# .NET

Embedding user controls in a Windows form is just like adding a simple button or text box that are already provided with .NET. These basic controls were written essentially like you code your own controls. Typically the controls you design are to be used in multiple forms or to modularize your code. These reasons help reduce the amount of code you have to type as well as make it easier for you to change your implementation. There should almost never be any reason to duplicate code because it leaves a lot of room for bugs. So, implementing functionality specific to your control in the control's source code is a good idea. This reduces code duplication as well as modularize your code, which is a good programming guideline.

Accessing the different controls inside a GridView control

how we can access a particular control which resides inside a GridView control. In this article I will show you how you can access different controls inside a GridView control. We will see how we can access a TextBox control, a DropDownList control and a ListBox control. If you are working with ASP.NET 1.X then you might want to check out my article Accessing Different Controls Inside a DataGrid.

Using ASP.NET 3.5's ListView and DataPager Controls: Displaying Data with the ListView

Prior to ASP.NET 3.5, developers who needed to display a set of records could choose between the GridView, DataList, and Repeater controls. The GridView provides rich data features, but has a very boxy layout; the DataList and Repeater allow for a more flexible layout, but lack the "point and click" data features found in the GridView, DetailsView, and FormView controls. The ListView bridges the gap between layout flexibility and built-in data features.

This article, the first in a series of articles on the ListView and DataPager controls, looks at the ListView's many available templates and illustrates how to display data. Read on to learn more!
