Outlook Meeting changes not being made in linked Sharepoint Meeting Workspace. Why?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 07, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Changes made (meeting time and location) in outlook meeting not being reflected in the linked sharepoint meeting workspace.  Sending changes results in emails to attendees being returned as undeliverable and no changes on the sharepoint side. Looking for ideas as to what may be causing the problem.

Meeting Workspace unusable after SharePoint upgrade to 2010

Hello, We recently took a content database from MOSS 2007 and attached it to a SharePoint 2010 farm that uses a different DNS name. Now, there's a user who had a recurring meeting configured in Outlook 2010 with a meeting workspace  who can no longer use the workspace now that it only exists on SharePoint 2010. She tried removing the link to the old workspace from her recurring meeting and adding a new location using the new URL, but she gets a message saying a workspace already exists at the site. Obviously it does, but the meeting in Outlook is the same meeting. Is there any way to re-connect the Outlook meeting with the meeting workspace that exists on the new SharePoint 2010 server? Thanks.

SharePoint 2007 Calendar - add an event to a recurring meeting workspace

Hello all,

I was wondering if someone can answer this problem I am having.

Simple Question: Are you able to add an additional event into a recurring event which is linked to a meeting workspace?

Long version:

I create an event in a calendar with the recurrence of every monday for the month. (4 dates lets say)  We have a special meeting to add to the meeting workspace, so I add an additional event in the calendar and try to add this date (15th lets say) to that previous meeting workspace series.

My problem is that the ability to add the new date (15th) to the series doesn't show me any options to add to that previous meeting workspace, I can only create a new meeting workspace.

My colleague who has used SharePoint 2003 at another workplace is 100% sure she could do this, however I am at a loss where SharePoint 2007 allows this functionality.

In a new calendar, I tested this theory by creating 3 events with recurring dates and creating an associated meeting workspace with each of them.  Not once did I get the option to add the event to another meeting workspace.  I added an event with no recurrence with an associated meeting workspace, the very next event could add to that meeting workspace which is what I want except to a recurring meeting workspace.

From my analysis, any event that has a recurring series

Top navigation bar Sharepoint Foundation 2010 (Meeting Workspace)

Hello everybody,

when additional sites have been created in Sharepoint Services v2 (2003) on a Meeting Workspace site, there was a top navigation with which the user(s) could navigate trough these sites.

Is there any way to get such a navigation in Sharepoint Foundation 2010 on a Meeting Workspace site?

Futhermore I'd like to know how a user defined list is displayed directly on the page where it has been inserted.

Would be nice if someone could help me. Thanks in advance.

With kind regards,

Regards Thomas

How do you filter a list in a Meeting workspace based on the meeting date?

I have a customer who is using a meeting workspace, and has a list on said workspace (we'll call it "Meeting Instance List"). The workspace houses this list, and of course after each meeting, the workspace, in essence, resets itself in preparation for the next meeting - so it looks like it removes the items from the list, when in actuality, they are there, just on the previous meeting instances. Some of his stakeholders are finding this limiting because they perceive it as losing historical information (you know how some folks can be, if they don't see it, they think it's gone). His solution is to replace the non-series list, with a series list, and incorporate legacy records from another older list. Only problem is, now there's not a way to filter the series list so that it shows items from a parcticular meeting date. For instance - the [Today] variable will only return a current system date value. Surely there ought to be a similar variable that would all you to filter the list based on meeting date, right?

Deleted Meeting Workspace Site still appearing on the view all site content

I have deleted a meeting workspace template that errored as I was deleting it, the error was Delete site operation cancelled by user.  Check the log files for additional details.   The archive folder does not exist or is not properly configured. Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services. the site is still appearing in the view all site content list, is there any way of forcing this dead link out of that view.   ThanksSharepoint Customiser

Unable to add/remove members of a sharepoint meeting request; what am I missing?

Does this ring any bells for anyone?  You create a meeting request on a sharepoint calendar, using Outlook as the calendar interface, it all seems to work initially but if you attempt to edit the meeting request you can no longer manipulate attendees?

I setup a calendar on SharePoint 2010 (full not free).  I have Office 2010 Pro installed on my Windows 7 x32 client.  I access the SharePoint 2010 calendar through IE 8, go to the Calendar tool, and click the button on the sharepoint ribbon bar to Connect to Outlook.  I receive two click-through prompts from Outlook (name and "are you sure?") and then I see the calendar in Outlook.

I access this new SharePoint Calendar from within my Outlook 2010 interface.  I right click on a timeblock and choose "New Meeting Request".  I setup a meeting with a couple of people in the To field.  (2003 Enterprise Exchange Server and 2003 Integrated Active Directory are sitting behind this)  So far it all seems to be working just fine.

But then if I later go back and double click on the meeting (Still in Outlook) I can no longer add or remove people to the request.  The To field is simply gone.  It looks exactly like I am no longer the owner of the meeting and have lost the associated tools.  I "think" it may be caused by my Outlook clien

Meeting workspace usage using Touch screen

We have the following requirement in Sharepoint 2010

Using the meeting workspace of Sharepoint, Meeting Agenda and related documents required for the meeting are created, Attendees are added and using meeting workspace mails are sent to the meeting attendees.

Meeting attendess should be able to able to use touch screen enabled systems to access the mails which will have access to the meeting workspace link. On clicking of these link, Meeting workspace should open and meeting attendees should be able to view Agenda, view/edit  documents.

Appreciate if anyone can guide me on Sharepoint 2010 enabled touch screen systems which can be used for taking care of this requirement.

Is there any changes to be done in sharepoint 2010 portal to make this possible.

Meeting workspace: How to show data from all meetings based on custom view

I've got a meeting workspace in a MOOS2007 site. The workspace contains a Task list. It's not enabled with "Series Items".

I'd like to add an additional page to the meeting workspace and show incomplete tasks from all meetings. I can create a separate view for this tasks list that will show incomplete tasks. However, it only shows data for the meeting date that is selected. Is there anyway I can get this view to show filtered data from "All Meetings"?

Please advise. Thanks,

How to update one meeting workspace page?

we are using a customized meeting workspace template for recurring meetings. These meetings series are not ending soon and we want to update the default.aspx page in every existing meeting workspace instance automatically with our latest changes.

Is this possible?

Using elements of the meeting workspace on the main page?

I have been given ownership of a sharepoint site to manage the meetings and documents related to a project.

I like the idea of the meeting workspace, and was hoping there was a way to include elements of the meeting workspace on the main page of the sharepoint site.

There is one recurring meeting that relies on a task list.  Can I link the task list to the main page so everyone can see it?  Can I apply filters?

Can I link the list of attendees from the recurring meeting to the main page?

Removal of SharePoint 2010 Team Meeting Title "Home"

When creating a team site using a custom template, how can I get rid of the word "Home" (right below the top bar naviation) that gets displayed automatically? I looked at the master page and the custom layout code but have not had any luck.
