Search does not find text in Word document stored in document library on a Report Center site within

We have a document library on a site created off of the Report Center site template. We uploaded a Word 2007 document with the word zebra in the text. Using the search bar at the top of the page we selected This list: Our document library and searched for zebra. We received no results.

We tested the same thing on another site (site template Team site) within the same site collection and search worked fine.

Does the Report Center search function differently then the search functionality on the Team site?

Site Collection Usage Report Include Outlook?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the Site Collection Usage Report includes activity that occurs from Outlook? For example, if a user contributes to a discussion board without ever physically touching the site or if the user just reads list content from Outlook, is this included?

ANY help at all is greatly appreciated.

Problem using an action to link to a report in another site

Hi ! I'm using SSRS 2008 with WSS 3.0 (integrated mode) and I want, from a report in a site A, to link to a report in a site B. I'm using the full path to the report and when I paste it in a browser, it correctly shows the report. When I click on the link of the action in the report from site A, a report (having the same name) from site A is displayed instead... Any help would be appreciated Thanks Paul

Use Report Builder 3.0 with SharePoint site using a port number

We are currently working with SSRS R2 and SharePoint 2010.  SharePoint 2010 has been deployed a multitenant solution.  SharePoint and SSRS are on separate servers.  We have successfully integrated the two products but are experiencing some anomolies.  The SharePoint site we are deploying to uses a port number (e.g. http://mysharepointsvr:2222).  When you launch Report Builder from this site, it does not open connected to a Report Server.  When you try to connect to a Report Server the obvious choice is to put in http://mysharepointsvr:2222 for the Report Server service.  However, this does not work.  We are getting the following error: Connection Failed.  Unable to connect to the server that is specified in the URL, 'http://mysharepointsvr:2222'.  Make sure the server is running, the URL is correct, and you have permission to use the server. However, if we use the SharePoint address without the port number it will connect.  This does not work as the SharePoint port determines which site we are directed to for resources.  In our case, we need to be able to browse the folders on port 2222 not port 80 (default).  As far as the error above is concerned, we are able to browse to the report server (http://sql101/reportserver) and see all of the SharePoint sites.  In all cases, identical credentials are being u

problem deploying report model to wss3 site

hi, im having trouble deploying my report model. when i click on deploy i have to enter a user name and password (i asume that it is the username and password i use to enter my wss 3 site) after that it begin to deploy then i get these 2 errors: Error 1 The required field UserName is missing from the input structure. c:\documents and settings\administrator\my documents\visual studio 2005\projects\essreportproject\essreportproject\ESSP.ds 0 0  Error 2 The path of the item '/Data Sources/ESSP' is not valid. The full path must be less than 260 characters long; other restrictions apply. If the report server is in native mode, the path must start with slash. c:\documents and settings\administrator\my documents\visual studio 2005\projects\essreportproject\essreportproject\ESSP.smdl 0 0  when i go to my page in wss3 i can see the datasource and model directory, but i cant use them can someone help me with this and explain it for me.

Missing Tabs and Site Settings Link in Report Manager

Installed SQL Server 2008 with Reporting Services to a Windows Server 2008 box.  Tried to open the Report Manager and had no tabs and no Site Settings link - just a blank home page. I am logged onto the server with local administrator rights, so it shouldn't be a permissions issue.

Thinking the installation was bad (IIS was not installed before installing SSRS), I uninstalled and re-installed SSRS after setting up IIS 7 on the server.  Still the same issue - just a blank home page in report manager with no ability to add users or assign roles or see anything except the links for "Home", "My Subscriptions", and "Help".

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Site owner getting Access Denied error on subsite pages.

I am site collection owner.I have created subsites with number of pages(140 pages) with inherit permission form parent site. After creation of subsite I want to edit subsite pages but I am getting Error Message "Access Denied" on some pages.

Anyone please help me...

Site usage report simply wrong

I have a site, in a site collection (obviously) using MOSS2007. The usage reports are very low.  Yesterday it claims only two users visited.  Seeing that this site has the "Daily Dilbert" I was sure that this was wrong.

A quick look at yesterday's log file shows shed loads - I got up to 20 users before getting half way through the file.  Many of those users don't show on th user list either.

All the settings look OK - something is obviusly being registered - the Landing Page (the one with the Dilbert) has some hits against it - just not nearly as many as the hard logs say.

It means I have lost confidence in the usage reports across the site collection now!

Any ideas?

WSS 3.0 Site Collection Owner Access Only?

Is there any way via CA in WSS 3.0 to limit access to a top level site and all subsites to just the Site Collection Owner and no one else? I am not going to be able to go to all 543 subsites throughout and change their permissions and all settings I have tried in CA takes away all access, even to the Site Collection Admin.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

- Thank you. Respectfully, Janette M. Ricker

MOOS 2007 / WSS 3.0 Site Usage Report

I have enabled the Usage Analysis Processing, did a munual run of the Timed Jobs to get the Usage Analysis to kick in (it did), everything seems to be in order but when I go to Site Settings > Site Usage Report I get the following:

A usage report is not available for this site. Usage processing may be disabled on this server or the usage data for this site has not processed yet.

There is has been usage so a report should be available, however, log file is empty. Any ideas?

MetaData is not visible for anybody except site owner.

Sharepoint 2007-SQL 2005 medium farm. One web application for all user sites.

The behavior started last week and crawled to all site collections except the home site collection. All site collections are in their own database with their own users. The solution is not working for the root site collection. I am not able to find the taxemony list. http://siteURL/Lists/TaxonomyHiddenList/AllItems.aspx I get "the webpage cannot be found"

What am I missing?

Site Usage Report - No data available for this report

We are using SharePoint 2007, after migrating all SharePoint datbases to anotehr SQL Server 2005 using AvePoint DocAve, the Site Usage Report stopped displaying data. Message displayed as below:

“No data is available for this report. Usage analysis might have been enabled only recently, or there might have been insufficient usage to result in any values for the report.”

The Usage Reporting is configured as specified in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262541(office.12).aspx

Any idea on how we can fix the usage report?
