Form Template Conflict - Same Form ID When Copying Template

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 07, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Hi,I have an InfoPath Form that I have uploaded successfully to SharePoint using the Form Services.I now want to make a copy of my InfoPath Form Template so I can create a similar Template (just want to make a few adjustments) then upload that one, so will have two that serve similar but different purposes. The problem is that if I just make a copy (copy and paste) the Template on my computer, I can't open it without getting the following message:   Form Template Conflict The form template you are opening has the same ID as a template already on your computer.   Then it goes on to say I can either keep my existing one, or replace it with this one????????   All I want to do is make a copy so I don't have to design essentially the same Form.   Somehow I need to  create a new template (from the existing one) but have a different Form ID.   Can anyone please help with this (should be simple) issue.   Kind Regards,   Grant.

Can you hide the "Form Template Conflict" message?

We have 100s of Infopath 2003 forms published on our Sharepoint site (MOSS 2007).  These forms are updated constantly.  The problem we have is that anytime we change the form's design (ex. change wording on the form), the user will get the "Form Template Conflict" message when they click on the form.  This is very confusing to them, and although we've asked them to click on "Replace form", they still get confused.

This message is very confusing to anyone, not just a user.  We would like to suppress this message so that every single time we update a form, they don't have to see this.  I'm not sure why it even saves a copy locally on their machines, anyway.  The fact is that in 100% of all cases, they will need to replace the form on their computer.  Renaming the forms every time we edit them is not an option - there are too many and links would all be broken.

Can anyone tell us how to "hide" or "suppress" this error for our users?  Or design a form on the back-end that won't show this?  Could possibly changing security settings prevent this?  Any suggestions would be appreciated on how to prevent this message from popping every time we update a form.

Updating an InfoPath Form Library Template breaks preexisting SharePoint List Views

When updating an InfoPath template (e.g. adding a new field), any views I have created on the library lose their filters and sorting, as if the columns on which they were built no longer exist.  Has anyone else encountered this and, if so, is there a solution? V/r Noelle

namespace of fields problem when creating form template from xml?

I created a form template from a predefined xml, where I do not have any namespace. Later I added more fields. The output xml of the form is for the fields from the xml they have not prefix, for those added later, they have prefix my. I already have them all done. How can I make them consistent to have prefix my? Is there any options in InfoPath to turn on or off the prefix my?   thanks,

Cannot publish InfoPath 2010 form template to SharePoint Server 2010 RC

Hi all, I am MSFT in Vietnam. I created a SharePoint list using InfoPath 2010 RTM 64bit. After publishing it to SharePoint 2010 RC, I see an error message:  Click on button "Show Details" the message is The list schema does not match the schema of this form. Refresh the data source and publish the form again. When I create new item based on published SharePoint list, I can see plain form not browser enabled InfoPath form. I checked InfoPath Form Services, everything seems to be good. What should I do to publish SharePoint list from InfoPath 2010 to SharePoint 2010 as browser enabled form?

"Could not verify the form template on the specified server" problem

I have an InfoPath 2010 form that I'm trying to publish as a browser-based form to a SharePoint 2010 Form Library.   It passes the compatibility checker if the "Verify on server" box is not marked, but will not validate on the server, giving only the message: Could not verify the form template on the specified server: http://portal.mydomainname.com/_vti_bin/FormsServices.asmx Make sure you are connected to the network and have access to the server. Browsing to the above URL brings up the FormsServicesWebService page just fine. The "portal.mydomainname.com" is in the Default zone.  Authentication provider for the Default zone is Windows NTLM with Client Integration enabled.  The server is registered with an enterprise key.  Forms Services is configured to allow browser-enabled forms. Any other ideas? Thanks -BobBob

Digital Signing of Forms (not template) changes status of form

I have a nice InfoPath Travel Request form that requires sequential digital signing.  I have the sections holding the signatures display contingent upon the prior signed section having a value of being signed.  All is working well. Now, once I publish the form to a SharePoint Form Library, I'd like to have a column showing a status such as 'Supervisor Approved', then on to 'Manager Approved' to finally 'Fully Approved'. I thought that I could create a Rule that when a section's digital signature value changes to 'signed', it could update a 'Status' field's text value.  However, when in practice, if digital signature is applied, there is no method to update the 'Status' field.  Digital signatures apply to Sections and sections don't have Rules capabilities. Other than writing code, is there a method that I can use that would change a 'Status' field value based on a section being digitaly signed?Greg Appelt

Infopath cannot generate a form template for the sharepoint list

Dear All,

Do I republish form template with codes everytime when I made changes to the template?

My form template has C# codes. I went through the process to publish it and link the generated content template type to my form lib pre-created.

So my question is Do I have to go over this process (publish, upload, activate it, link...) after I made any changes to the form or the codes?

If so, would be too much work!?

Using the Inventory Tracking Template - how to edit the "log a sale" form

We are using the Inventory Tracking Template.  Although its a good form as is there are a few modifications that would make it even better.

When you use the "Log a sale" feature - the new form pops up with the title "Transactions: New Item"   - every item has an associated Category.   We have many items and need a way to filter them so the user doesn't have to scroll through so many items.  I thought using the category field would be best.   In a perfect world the user selects the category in the form and then the form only shows the items in that category that are available.  How do i acomplish this?

Thanks in advance for your help (and patience)

Deploy infopath 2010 form template to MOSS (saved as Infopath2007 format)

I saw this post on another site and this happened to me as well.  I am trying to create a web form with controls, chose WebForms for Infopath2007 and changed the code to C# for Infopath 2007 and tried to deploy the form to the Infopath forms solution in Central Admin and was unable to do so.  any suggestions?

I have an interesting issue while deploying a VSTO enabled form today. For

some odd reason while performing stsadm -o verifyformtemplate -filename

foobar.xsn, it returned a "FatalError : The form cannot be converted because

it was designed for a later version of InfoPath Forms Services.".

Has anyone else tried deploying a InfoPath 2010 form with managed code in a

MOSS environment?? I'd hate to go back to InfoPath 2007, I love the new

ribbon. :D

"This feature installing a form template does not match the expected format" error

I'm trying to create a new SP Feature that consists of the following components -- an InfoPath form, a document library (list) where these forms will be used, and a custom Task list (that will be used in a workflow that is triggered when the form is submitted).  Each of these components was created in a DEV env and is working.  I then created my feature in Visual Studio 2008 and successfully created the WSP file.  I then (successfully) installed the WSP (I got no errors on install and all seemed well -- the "solution" shows up under Central Admin and shows as being deployed.

When I go to site settings, the feature shows up, but deactivated.  WHen I attempt to activate it, however, I get this error in the SP Logs:

How to solve this error This form template is not currently browser enabled?

I would like my form be browser enabled. Users wont use InfoPath to fill it.

Enviroment: Sharepoint2010, form was created in Infopath2010

InfoPath form properties:

Security and Trust: Automatically dtermine security level

Compatibilyty Form type: Web Browser Form

The form was published as a content type to my site. I checked my form for browser compatibility - it was ok.

In my Form library

Allow managment content type = Yes

Opening Document in the Browser = Open in Browser

The features Enterprise feature are enabled on site collection feature and site feature.

But it is still impossible to view my form in browser. The error is appeared: This form template is not currently browser enabled.

Who knows what is wrong? How to make my form web browsable?

Programmatically activating an admin-approved form template to a site collection?

I am currently programmatically generating infopath forms with code-behind, and for each generated form, I need to be able to host the form template as a content type. Since I have a farm solution, I know that I would usually have to publish manually to admin-approved form template as opposed to form libraries or content types directly and afterwards create content types which reference those form templates. I was wondering what I would need to do to achieve the following results:

1) Programmatically activate a form template to a site collection (this is the big question mark for me)

2) Programmatically generate a content type which references said form template (I believe I already have this part down using the SP Object Model)

The environment I am building in uses SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Edition, InfoPath2010, .NET 3.5, VS 2010.

Any assistance would be MUCH appreciated.
