Side by side conguration error

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 07, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

I hit the following issue:1. Built and ran a VC++ program on a machine with Vista 64/Visudal studio 2008, successful2. Then changed to a machine with Server 2008 R2/Visual studio 2008. The program can be successully built, but when I ran it, hit the following error:"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."Searched online and found some discussions on "side by side configuration error", but that happens when building the program on one machine, then run it on another machine. Here the program was built and run on the same machine, why do I still hit this error? Thanks,

Error: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load.

Getting some errors after implementing the calendar control.  Error: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load.  Here are some screenshots of the relevant info:   Here's the scenario...  I compile code locally, view the pages in a browser locally, and it all works fine.  Another developer sits down at my machine, logs in with AD account (which create a local profile for his account on my machine), and gets these errors when viewing my locally compiled code.  He then compiles the same code on my machine again just for a test, but still gets the same errors.  Can anyone come up with any good reasons for this behavior?  I put a call into MS and they suggested creating a new profile for the other developer with the errors since this appeared to be profile specific.  Tried doing that with the same results.  Help!

Url rewrite + ScriptManager = Client side error...

Hi All,   I am trying to build a asp.net website with url rewriting. I have retrieved a rewrite rule from my web host (see below) that I have added to my web.config file. The rule redirects all urls to my default.aspx as intended and every thing seems to work as it should.<rewrite> <rules> <rule name="Rewrite All" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="^(.*)$" /> <conditions logicalGrouping="MatchAll"> <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" negate="true" /> <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsDirectory" negate="true" /> </conditions> <action type="Rewrite" url="Default.aspx" /> </rule> </rules> </rewrite>.until I add a ScriptManager to my page for partial updating of UpdatePanels. When I do this i get a client side (javascript) error as follows (see below). The error occures both on the initial page load and on postbacks. Viewstate is still working, but partial updates and ajax or any other javascript is not working because of the error below.Chrome javascript console: WebResource.axd:3Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <WebResource.axdResource interpreted as script but

Side-side by config error on Win7 64 apps if VS2008 is not installed on the system

Hi, I am using Win 764 bit application. When I try to run my application in target machine Iam gettting the following error. The application is running fine if the target machine has VS2008 and SP1 installed   "Unable to Load TekRobo Dll. The application has failed to start because its side -by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command line sxstrace.exe for more detail (Exception from HRESULT:0x800736B1.)"        The Evn log viewer mesaage is as given below: Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\Tektronix\TekRobo\TekRobo.dll". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.DebugCRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.21022.8" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.   Actually the dll which has a problem is originally developed in VC++ and it is using Win32 APIs. Recendly I have moved the code base from VC6 to VS2008 and I have compiled the dlls in 64 bit mode. Any thoughts? Thanks,Mohan Mohan das Gandhi

error: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load.

Hi all,

I m getting this weird error "ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load." in my project which none of my other team mates are getting. Even I tuk the solutoin from the TFS so there is no chances of a code error any where because we all have downloaded the code from the same place in TFS.

N there shud not b anything wrong with the client browser also on my machine because i can browse the same page from the dev server perfectly. Its just breaking only when i m browsing that page on localhost.

We are using .net framework 4.0, windows 7 and we have AjaxControlToolkit version 1.0 in our project.

the only things which might differ in my case as compared to other machine and server are

- Virtual directory.

Creating Functions and that pesky "Side-effecting behavior" error...

Okay,

Well, I think we all at one point or another have been here, and frankly, I'm trying to figure a few things out with the nature of "Functions" in Transact-SQL (SQL Server 2008).  I am the type of programmer that is more programmer than SQL scripter, in the one fundamental nature that I don't like writing the same thing twice.  Usually because I forget.  You see a problem and want to solve it, but you can't exactly see the forest through the trees, and have to ask for help.  Someone, usually here, provides me with the insight I was looking for and I use it, walk away, 3 months later, I need the same help again.  No I'm not so crass as to repost the same question, but I have to look it up again.  So my theory, being as I said more the programmer than scripter, I wanted to create a function that just does it for me.  I add that function to the master database and voila, every time I need this <insert blah here> I can just run my function.

A perfect example is how I asked a while back how to create a Inline-randomizer, which basically would allow me to create a random number per line.  With the way caching and execution plans work in most SQL Engines, using a simple: Select *,Rand() from MyTable, will produce the exact same number each row for the Rand() function.  It was explained why, havi

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.

Use jQuery and ASP.NET AJAX to build a client side Repeater

By sending only data to the client, you can profoundly reduce the size of what you send and see a substantial increase in performance. You also allow yourself the ability to easily add features like light-weight sorting and paging on the client. This can not only improve your users' experience, but reduce server load and bandwidth requirements.

Client Side Gridview Pagination using JQuery

I would like to show how to use Client Side Gridview Pagination using Jquery Table Pagination Plugin by using Ryan Zielke.

To that end, I'm going to walk you through these four steps to effectively implementing a client side Repeater, using ASP.NET AJAX and jQuery:

Accessing SharePoint 2010 Data with Server-Side APIs

Accessing SharePoint data in server-side solutions is one of the most common tasks that you will perform as a SharePoint developer. SharePoint 2010 provides powerful server-side APIs that enable you to retrieve, add, edit, and delete SharePoint data programmatically. SharePoint 2010 also includes the new LINQ to SharePoint technology that enables you to work with SharePoint data efficiently and easily.

Adding Client-Side Confirmation When Deleting

The JavaScript confirm(string) function displays its string input parameter as the text inside a modal dialog box that comes equipped with two buttons - OK and Cancel (see Figure 1). The confirm(string) function returns a Boolean value depending on what button is clicked (true, if the user clicks OK, and false if they click Cancel).

Server side validation of Fileupload control not working

I've tried this method in my code behind to try and validate that the Fileupload control has a file or not. I get the error message the the event "Server Validate" cannot be found. Can anyone tell why? Thanks.

Public Sub CustomValidator1_ServerValidate(ByVal source As Object, ByVal args As System.Web.UI.WebControls.ServerValidateEventArgs) Handles CustomValidator1.ServerValidate

divs do not display side by side

I have two divs. I want them to display side by side, on the same row. Using display:inline-block I can do that. But as soon as I position some text in the bottom right corner of div1, the two divs do not have the same vertical position. They are side by side, but the 2nd div starts at the vertical position of the positioned text in the 1st div.   Why would it do that?  Both Chrome and IE8 render it the same way.

( I am doing the nesting of the divs on the left side so that I can position absolutely within a div and not the page. I can't get text to position in the lower right corner of a div any other way. )

server side does not save data when using POST data to another URL using WebRequest

Hi,
I am using a IIS 7.5 on Windows 7. I have a simple application that uses System.Net.WebRequest to POST data to another URL (in fact, the server side URL is on my local computer and it is hosted in IIS 7.5).

  1.  The problem is the server does not save data from client although on the client side codes when I debug and I see the OK message return from the code line

response.StatusDescription; // this has value of "OK"

2. How can I debug the server code side where to receive the request from client side who posts the data ?

The following is the codes for client who posts data using System.Net.WebRequest, and codes for server side who received posted data to save to database.

Client side codes: // also run on my local computer

public string PostIntegrationXml(XmlDocument xmlSubmitDoc)

        {
