Enabling Enterprise Key Words for a custom list template

Hi, I have developed a list template in the usual manner, using features that create site columns, content types and then a list template that leverage's the content type.  I have a problem with Enterprise Keywords.  As this is simply a Yes/No type activation, I take it this column is slightly different from normal site columns.  When I first extracted my list template from a site with keywords activated, all I can see is that the keywords column has been added to the columns in the template.  There doesn't seem to be any setting that indicates that Managed Keywords is activated.  Regardless, I can create list instances from my template fine and the managed keywords column appears as expected.  The strange behaviour is that when I upload a new document and enter keywords for it, although these keywords are entered into the termstore, when I next view the document properties, the entries have dissapeared.  Is there something I need to do through code for this.  My problem is, as I want this setting to be enabled for a list template, How else do I activate the setting considering I cannot run code from a list template?  I hope someone can help, Cheers,   Amit

Custom document library list template issues with custom content type

  

Either I don't know what SharePoint is doing or I don't know what I'm doing (or both, which is more likely).

I'm attempting to create a Custom Document Library template with a custom content type association (Custom Document), all using a feature. When I create
a document library based on the installed template, the content type association is there. However, when I click on New Custom Document, the template.dotx does not reflect the Custom Document content type association. The Word document information panel does not show any Custom Document content type properties (like Title and Comments).

Here are the steps I've taken:

1. Create the feature.xml with element manifests of contentType.xml and CustomDocumentLibrary.xml
2. Create the contentType.xml (Custom Document) with an additional field reference for Comments
3. Create the CustomDocumentLibrary.xml for the list template
4. Create a Custom Document Library subfolder that contains the same files that are in the 12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\DocumentLibrary\doclib folder.
5. Edit the schema.xml to use the new content type and field reference
6. Deploy and activate the feature
7. Create a new "Custom Document Library"
8. Go to Custom Document Library Settings and verify the Custom Document content type is being used
9. Click on New Custom D

custom list template columns not in order (not keeping required fields)

  
I have a template (based on a custom content type) that I got working just the way I want it. All the list forms are in the order I want with the fields showing that I want.  I saved this list as a template and create List#2 from that template, but its forms don't show all the required fields (they don't show on the form), and some items are out of order.  Can anyone explain this to me please?  I am working towards a site definition that needs everything just so.

custom list form will not insert onto page (in list made from template)

  
In Designer 2007, I am trying to insert a custom list form on a page.  After selecting the list and the radio button for Edit item form, and hitting OK, nothing happens.  However, if I select a different list, I can get it to work.  Any ideas why I can't make it work with this particular list?

Create custom template for Exporting a list to Excel?

  

I have noticed when you are in the Datasheet View of a List, and if you choose "Query List with Excel" from the task pane, that when the list opens in Excel is it in a formatted worksheet (alternating colors/rows of light blue and dark blue). Yuck!

Anyway, I want to be able to Export the data to an Excel worksheet in a format of my choosing. Our team will want a minimalist approach that is setup for proper printing with defined page breaks, etc. So, I would like to know how I can develop that kind of export template. Thanks!

How to add custom list entries to mysite's calendar in Sharepoint 2007 site?

I would like to know below things

(1) How to create MySite for one specific member with other or administrator's access?

(2) Scenario : Administrator have created one SP2007 site. now Administrator have created one calendar (Sample calendar). Administrator have added some entries in calendar. now one user entered in portal site ansd view the calendar and he click on MySite menu. so this sample calendar entries should enter in that user's mysite calendar. How this can be achieved?

Picker returns nothing for BDC column in custom list

  

Playing with the BDC for the first time, running into some issues adding a Business Data column to a custom list.

I believe my ADF file is solid. I've been able to import that just fine and can use the application to drive various BDC-specific webparts (a Business Data List or Business Data Item, for example). It also seems to work when I manually enter information in my NewForm.aspx field and click the Check Names button (it verifies my entry and underlines it, creates link to profile when I view the list data).

But...

If I try to use the picker, I get nothing. Enter a name I know is valid or a % and click the magnifying glass icon and I very briefly get the "Please Wait" message, then just an empty set with "Type into the search box above then press "Enter" to start your search" where my results should be.

Any pointers? Thanks.


SharePoint Designer: insert custom list not working anymore

  

Hello,

Suddenly sharepoint designer decided today that it doesn't want to insert a custom list form anymore...
To be more specific, it doesn't work anymore in a site that uses the Microsoft budgeting and tracking template. In a website that uses an out of the box template, it still works.

It did work before, because I did it in other websites using the same template (it's broken there as well now).

Why oh why does SharePoint refuse to do this now?
I searched google and here on the forums, but all I could find was some issues after installing SP1, but we did that already long time ago and it was still working after that. I checked with our infrastructure guys and they didn't install new updates they say.

I also tried the solutions listed here: http://blogs.msdn.com/spdsupport/archive/2008/07/03/how-to-fix-custom-list-forms-will-not-insert-or-show-up-on-the-design-surface-of-sharepoint-designer.aspx
But they don't fix the problem.

So my problem is, I can go to Insert > SharePoint Controls > Custom List Form
I pick my list, content type and form type, I hit OK and... nothing happens.

can template save custom pages?

  

I created a template off a site I made last year (without content). That site had some custom pages with webparts on them.  These pages were linked to from the Quick Launch menu.  I just made a new site using that template and it appears the custom pages weren't part of the template as when I click on the links to them in the QL menu, I get a 404 page not found error. I tried again saving the template with content this time and my custom pages show up - but then I have all the lists/libraries filled with old content.  Any remedy?

I am on MOSS 2007 and can use Designer.

Need to pass parameters from URL to fields in Custom List

  

I have a complex customized list and I need to pass parameters of two fields so that when the 'Questionnaire' is completed and subsequentially opened after initial submission, it will retrieve the Number and GUID automatically in respective fields. I send an email out with a link to the 'Form' that carries the parameters. I am trying to use the following javaScript but am unsure as to where to place this on the SharePoint page for it to work.

Problem with list controls and update progress template

  

Hi

I have an update panel that surrounds a wizard control which I use in conjunction with a update progress control. Now my update progress control works perfectly, with my animated gif and div tag that lays over my wizard control when the user goes from step to step. However, there is a problem that I am struggling to solve. A number of my steps use controls like list boxes, and when the update progress control fires, the list control is not laying underneath my div an animated gif no matter how high a make my css z-index on the div.

Does anyone have a way of solving this?
