Can I make member selection filters dynamic?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 07, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Question regarding member selection filters in Dashboard Designer (PPS 2010): When selecting the filter members, is there any way to make them dynamic? I.e. when a new member is added (e.g. a new year when we enter one), can it be included without having to manually add them in the filter? Thanks.

Will MVC3 make possible to use IOC with Action Filters?

Is this on the roadmap?

Dynamic Data Entity Framework Filters

I'm working on EF DynamicData project (for .NET 3.5) and I didn't manage to find any code or examples for filters like in Dynamic Data Filtering (http://dynamicdatafiltering.codeplex.com/) or Dynamic Data Futures that support Entity Framework (the versions are for Linq2SQL only).

The primary functionality that i want implement is having dynamic textboxes for searching datagrid based on the filterAttribute. Can You help me with an idea or some guideliness how to implement it or make modifications on something existing?

Make dynamic changes to ReportViewer Report design InteractiveSize property

Hello all,

Could someone share with me how to dynamically change the Report design InteractiveSize property?  I want to use a radiobutton list which has two options (complete list, paginated list) which changes the height of the Report display.  I wonder if I need to use the Report Parameters but how do I change and refresh to display the selected option.  Thank you.

DataGrid - how to make Column sorting dynamic, to cater for when bound data changes?

I'm using a DataGrid in a VS2010 WPF C# project.  I have bound the DataGrid to an ObservableCollection<SummaryItem>.  When you click on a column heading it sorts the data at that point in time.

Question - How would I arrange such that the sorting in the DataGrid is dynamic, so that when data changes (within the ObservableCollection<SummaryItem>) the sorting keeps working.

Notes: Binding approach is via DataGrid

      private ObservableCollection<SummaryItem> _summaryData = new ObservableCollection<SummaryItem>();
      SummaryDataGrid.ItemsSource = _summaryData;
      SummaryDataGrid.AutoGeneratingColumn += (s, e) =>
        //if (e.Column.Header.ToString() == "ProcessName")
        //  e.Column.Width = new DataGridLength(1, DataGridLengthUnitType.Star);
        e.Column.Width = new DataGridLength(1, DataGridLengthUnitType.Star);
  public class SummaryItem : INotifyPropertyChanged
    public event PropertyChangedEvent

Dynamic dimension member filter

Is it possible to set a dimension data rule for a role that will filter dimension members dynamically such that only members relating to at least one fact record will be shown?   In particular, the rule should be applied after all other filters on the fact data for the user have been taken into account.

This situation is there is a single client dimension but users should not be able to see the client information (e.g. name, address) unless it is related to a fact that the user has access to.

dynamic fields added/removed depending on user selection

Is it possible to dynamically add/remove fields upon creating an item in a list?

For example:
If user selects from drop down list and chooses "Booked"

and a date field name "Booked Date" will dynamically pop up underneath.

And if user selects a different choice, the date field will dissapear.

Can someone point me to anything that can be of help?

I searched around and noticed that this can be achieved via javascript using the ows.js object model?

Thank you for your help.

How do I make it possible for a popup to come up, based upon the selection a user makes in a grid vi

I've got a ListView object, with a GridView within it, where I'll be putting data.  The list view is in SingleMode.  I want it so that the user can select a row, and based upon criteria in that row, it would then bring up a popup display relevant data to the selected row.

There are 2 possible ways I envision this could happen.  I could put a button somewhere in the row (at this point I don't know how, but I'm sure it can be done), so that if the user clicks on the button, then my code would determine what it needs to from that client, to bring up the popup and display the additional data.

The second way I can envision this happening is I could make one of the columns a hyperlink field, still showing the data that column has to show for that row.  When the user clicks on the hyperlink, then it would bring up the same popup that I discribed for the first scenario.  However, again, I don't know how to do this.

So the question is, which is the "correct" or "more common" way of doing it, and how is it done?  (I'm working with VS 2010, so this is WPF 4).

Cutting Edge: Dynamic Action Filters in ASP.NET MVC

Action filters are a powerful feature of ASP.NET MVC controllers that can help you build aspect-oriented Web solutions. In this issue we dive deeper into creating your own dynamic action filters.

A dynamic snapshot is required because the publication XXX contains both dynamic filters and logical

Hi, I really need help as this is working on production environment and I have no idea what's happening.

We have a SQL Server 2008 Merge Publication (Merge Pull Replication)

All subscribers are running SQL Server Express 2008.

The replication has been working fine for 4 month, yesterday we noticed that one column of a Table were out of the publication article. BTW, it was replicated originally... we don’t know how it disappeared…

So we executed:

exec sp_mergearticlecolumn @publication = N'IPoint_Pub', @article = N'Tipo_Empleado', @column = N'Row_Version', @operation = N'add', @force_invalidate_snapshot = 1, @force_reinit_subscription = 1

After that, ALL subscriptions failed to sync returning the error:

A dynamic snapshot is required because the publication 'IPoint_Pub' contains both dynamic filters and logical record relationships.

Obviously I did executed the jobs for creating the main snapshot (static) and also all the dynamic snapshots after checking the main snapshot was successfully generated.

In some subscribers, dropping the su

IronPython -- The invoked member is not supported in a dynamic assembly

I have a very strange problem. I'm trying to get IronPython working with XNA, I've copied the source from: http://www.ironpython.info/index.php/XNA_Example_with_a_Bouncing_Sprite

Then when I compile this I got the error "IOError: System.IO.FileLoadException: Mixed mode assembly is built against version 'v2.0.50727' of the runtime and cannot be loaded in the 4.0 runtime without additional configuration information."

I fixed this issue by added a ipy.exe.config file in the same director as my ipy.exe with the following config information:

  <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
    <supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/>
    <requiredRuntime version="v4.0.20506"/>

This worked perfectly and I was able to compile and run the code on all but 1 machine which gives me the error:

"SystemError: The invoked member is not supported in a dynamic assembly."

when trying to create an XNA object. IT works fine on 2 out of 3 machines both with the latest IronPython and XNA installed the only difference is the machine it is not working on is Windows 7 32 bit where the other 2 are 64bit (shouldn't make a difference

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

Dynamic Data Templates in GridView ASP.NET 3.5

At a high level, Dynamic Data Templates can be seen as a system to very quickly build up a User Interface linked with the relevant data model, immediately enabling you to perform CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) on the database using the specified data source. They provide a powerful method for building up these kinds of applications, and I'm going to focus on an overview of what Dynamic Data Templates actually are, and a few ways of customizing them to suit industry needs.

ASP.NET 4.0 Dynamic Data and Many to Many Entity Framework Entities

I did not play much with Dynamic Data controls in VS2008 and just made a cool discovery in VS2010 Beta 2. This may not even be new, but as I'm sitting 30,000+ feet over the Atlantic ocean, I don't have access to VS2008 at the moment to check.

Maintain HTML Radio Button Selection Inside GridView After Postback

Long time ago I wrote an article about getting the value of the selected RadioButtons inside the GridView control. The code did not addresssed the postback issue which means that the selected radio button was cleared after the postback occurs.
