How to avoid "'CREATE VIEW' must be the first statement in a query batch" when I need to use SET Q

I have a problem that I have been unable to solve.  I have a stored procedure in a database on server A that needs to create an indexed view in a database on server B.  (The environment is SQL Server 2005.)  The procedure on server A does the following:  (The EXEC statement inside the quotes is really a variable in my procedure, I've just substituted the value to make the example understandable.) EXEC sp_executesql 'EXEC [ServerB].[Database].dbo.sp_executesql @sqlStatement;' The "outer" sp_executesql causes the "inner" sp_executesql to be execute within the database on server B.  (@sqlStatement contains the CREATE VIEW syntax.)  I am able to create the view that I want to index with no problem.  However, when I attempt to create an index on the view in a subsequent step, it fails with the message "Cannot create index. Object '_dta_mv_51' was created with the following SET options off: 'QUOTED_IDENTIFIER'".  Fair enough, but if I attempt to precede my CREATE VIEW statement with the required QUOTED_IDENTIFIER, I receive an error to the effect that "'CREATE VIEW' must be the first statement in a query batch".  I'm not sure how to get around this problem.  Does anyone have the answer? SQL Server 2008 doesn't object to indexing a view that was created with QUOTED_IDENTIFIER

Create a Tree view with expand or collapse using XSLT

I have created an XSLT file to show the contents of xml in HTML format in the form of a tree. Now, my requirement is to add expand or collapse capability to this output(html) using XSLT and Javascript. The sample output looks like this:

Passing a complex model to a Create view so it can be populated on the HTTP-Postback

I have a somewhat complex model that I need to pass to a MVC 2 Create view so its properties can be filled out.  I'm not sure how to actually create this model as it has some relationship data that must also be filled out during the creation process.

My main model is a Game.  Most of its properties are scalar.  It contains a foreign key to Content, for the game reviews, and there's a many-to-many relationship between Games and Platforms - games can be on a variety of platforms (PS3, XBox 360, etc.), and each platform has a library of games.

When I pass data to my Edit view, it's as simple as:

var model = _siteDB.Games.Include("Content").Include("Platforms").Single(g => g.GameID == id);

I'm unsure what to do in the case of Create as I'm not sure how to link the associated parts - Content and Platforms - to a Game object.

Is there a work-around to create indexes for a view defined by a sub-query, derived table, or CTE?

I have three versions of an indexed view I'd like to create. I can create the view, but cannot create a clustered index on (CollectionID, ElementID, TimeID) because the definitions use variously a sub-query, CTE, or derived table, which SQL will not allow.

Has anyone figured a workaround for this? Any suggestions much appreciated.

Custom tree view for navigating wiki pages

I'm creating an information resource on our intranet (WSS 3.0) using the wiki style format.  The only trick is, unlike a standard wiki, where all pages are directly under the parent, I want to be able to create a customizable tree view where some pages are nested underneath each other.  For example, this particular site talks about all of our different IT systems.  I'll have a wiki page for each system, then underneath each of those pages, there will be more pages for things like training, documentation, etc.  Even though all those pages are at the same level, I need to be able to nest them in a navigational tree view on the quick launch bar.  I suppose if there were also a way to nest the wiki pages themselves, I could just use the pre-packaged tree view.  Anyone have any ideas?

How to create scrolling table for columns in a SharePoint Designer Data View

I have a fairly complex SharePoint Designer 2007 Data View they have added two more requirements.

1. Have the columns on the right side be able to scroll left to right as there is a large number of columns, while the first 3 columns on the left side stay locked in place.  This is only one list not two, and because of some other requirements I have it must remain to be just one list.

2. Then they also need to have scrolling up and down of the entire list with the headers locked in place.

The first requirement is more important than the second, but preferrably I need to do both.

I am new to XSL so not familar with the syntax. Is this something I can do on a custom Data View? Does anyone have any examples of how?

I have a drawing that show how it needs to look but I don't see an option here to upload a graphic.

So here is a link to my graphic example uploaded to my blog area: http://lindachapman.blogspot.com/  or just the image here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_aB01ue__NvQ/TGL42MOvrGI/AAAAAAAAAA4/c3xP4uCy4BU/s1600/Scrolling.png

I failed to mention that 3/4 of the columns are HTML Calculated fields wh
