Datalist with embedded Grid or List...Sub Totals issue with iteration

Let me see if one of you can assist with this one...

i have a similar situation, but mine does not use the selected item (item Command). Here is what the form is to do:

1. this is for an educational environment, so we use SID- NOT SSN's, but i use the SID as a filter in the subset as the grouping unique id.

2. I'm trying to inject a sub total row at the last line item of each SID (if more than one item in the report for that SID).

3. I'm looping thru the items in the Datalist Item Command with a for each (item i in Datalist2.Items).

Issue with List Definition of same base content type and deployed via same feature

I am trying to deploy two custom list definitions using only one single feature.  Below are the details of my issue.

  • Two custom list definitions
  • Each custom list definition has its own custom content type
  • Each custom content type inherits from the base content type Picture (Type = 109)
  • The custom list definitions are grouped together under one single feature
  • The custom content types are grouped together under a seperate single feature

When I deploy my solution in this configuration, the second list definition gets the first custom content type applied to it and the list schema from the first list definition is also applied to the second list definition.

What makes this more interesting, when I seperate both of the list definitions under two seperate features it all works fine.  Custom content types and list schemas get applied correctly.

Can anyone tell me why I can not deploy both list definitions under one single feature?

If you need me to post any of the origional code or XML to this post please let me know.

Required columns on list; how can I reset them to be NOT required?

I have a user list where several fields in a sharepoint list that were originally created as required, but would now like to make them not required. I have already tried simply unchecking the required field checkbox, but that does not work. Any other ways to do this?

Trying to move FK links from list as columns to my navigation area.

I'm using vs2010, EF. I have a left column simular to a navigation area and I'm trying to figure out a way to display the FK links that appear at the end of a list as columns, in my navigation area.  One thought was to place a duplicate table in the navigation area and hide all the columns except for the FK links. Is there an easier way to accomplish this.

Thanks, Jeff

Has anyone experienced problems using a reorder list control in Chrome/Firefox?

I have three reorder lists on a page, one does not want to work. It is no different to the others, but is behaving like it is not enabled.

All working fine in IE 7 + 8.

Any ideas appreciated :)

DataGridView freeze columns issue

When i try to freeze a column that is off screen (to the right) when the DataGridView's (DGV) first displayed column is the first column in the DGV, the DGV refreshes and displays the DGV from the first column in the DGV. Also, the horizontal scrollbar on the bottom of the page disappears.  This means that i cannot see the unfrozen columns and i cant get over to view the column that I froze. This seems to behave differently from freezing a column in Excel, which freezes the columns you are currently viewing at that moment (not sending you back to the first row) and then the scroll bar applies to the frozen columns like normal. Is there a workaround for this? I tried setting the first displayed index for the column and I get an exception. I'm using .NET 3.5 on an XP machine.

Reorder list problem having to do with control placement

I have a page with a FileUpload control that uploads an image to a sql db when Button_Upload is clicked. I also have a reorder list contained within an update panel to display all the images in the database. The problem is with the code as shown below:1. I have the Button_Upload as an AsynchPostbackTrigger for the Update Panel2. The FileUpload.PostedFile=Nothing in Button_Upload_Click and no new image gets loaded. If I remove Button_Upload as an AsynchPostbackTrigger as a trigger then1. image gets added but reorderlist doesn't get refreshed and new picture doesn't appear in reorder list2. if I manually refresh browser button click event fires and image gets added againWhat is the way to place controls/triggers to get reorder list to show new picture when it gets added to the database? Thanks   <%@ Page Title="" Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/sfcas_nofooter.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="ImageUpload.aspx.vb" Inherits="ImageUpload" MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback="true" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1" Runat="Server"> <div id='leftside_fixproblem' &g

Reorder List

Hi Im using a toolkit reorder list control. Im using LINQ2SQL. I have troubles making the order changes in the list to be updated to the database. This is my aspx code: <cc1:ReorderList ID="reordLinks" runat="server" SortOrderField="OrderNr" DataKeyField="Pk_LinkId" ItemInsertLocation="End" DragHandleAlignment="Left" OnItemReorder="reordLinks_ItemReordered" > ......The drag and drop reordering works fine. In my  reordLinks_ItemReordered method i call on a static method in my database management class that does this: public static void UpdateLinks() { db.SubmitChanges(); } But no changes to the order are visible. What is missing? Thanks for your time!

Can Managed Metadata columns be edited in the DataSheet View of a Library or List?

Hi, I like to mass set document properties in a library using DataSheet View, the properties are columns based on Managed MetaData values. When I open the doc library in Datasheet view, those columns become read-only. I made sure the library does not require 'Check Out' and also tested it in other views then the AllItems view. Can someone confirm what is the expected functionality and or if there is a bug?

Compile issue with List<> and Linq

I am pretty sure this is some framework version issue but I am getting this on a (custom layout) page compile migrated over from MOSS. The following code complies in my MOSS 2007 environment but does not in my new 2010 environment. Thanks in advance for any help. Code section #1: private bool isSuccessReturnCode(string s) { bool bReturn = false; // Following line fails looking for ';' XDocument loaded = XDocument.Parse(s); var q = from c in loaded.Descendants("Node") select (string)c.Element("ReturnCode");   Code Section #2 private InvoiceItem getInvoiceItem(Guid ID) { List<InvoiceItem> InvoiceItems = ((List<InvoiceItem>)ViewState["INVOICEITEMS"]);

Issue with transactional replication on SQL 2005 SP3 using row filters with bit columns

We recently upgraded from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 SP3 and I am noticing something that I think is a bug with replication from a publication that has an article in it with row filters.  It seems to be that if the row filter has columns that are bit datatype and that column is updated on the publisher to cause the row filter to exclude it, it is not removed from the subscriber.  If you update a column that is part of the row filter that is not a bit datatype it works as expected.  I can reproduce this in a test environment with a small base table.  In production this is resulting in an occasional 20598 error "The row was not found at the Subscriber when applying the replicated command". Is anyone aware of a hotfix that addresses this? I can think of a few work arounds but the table is rather large and I really would like to avoid having to pull replication, re-snap or changing datatypes on the base table etc. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Query Sharepoint list, rich text columns returning HTML tags

Hi! So I have an issue that maybe someone of you have encountered as well. I am querying a Sharepoint list and creating a report from the data collected from this list. This all works fine except that one of the columns in this list is of the type "Multiple lines of text" and also supports "rich text" with different fonts, sizes and so on. This has the effect that the text returned from this column is wrapped in HTML tags that specifies how the text should be formatted. Naturally I do not want this HTML code to appear in my report so for now I have used custom code to do a string.replace and replaced for example <div></div> and <br> with "". However, this column also has url references to documents and these links shows up like this "/servername/site/subsite/Gemensamma%20dokument/Mwh.docx">http://servername/site/subsite/Gemensamma%20dokument/Mwh.docx There is some sort of double reference to the document that I guess like the HTML tags are embedded in the answer from the rich text column and this is not so easy to do a string replace on because the url varies with the different document and document names. My question really is if anyone of you have done a similar report that I am doing, and have encountered this fenomen with this sharepoint column and how you did to solve this? I have tried to creat
