Error when configuring Report Server Database - Wizard is trying to create Database on a non existen

I'm trying to setup SSRS using the Reporting Services Configuration Manager.  Everything seems to be working except the database creation.  When I click on the Database (3rd option down) then Change Database I run through the wizard.  Put in proper SA credentials.  Accept the defaults clicking next through and when it gets to running the script to create the data base I get the Error I pasted below.  We do not have a G drive so I went into SSMS and changed the Default Database settings to point to the F drive (where our other DBs reside) - I got that tip off of this forum but it didn't fix my issue. Any ideas what to try next?  Do I need to stop and restart a service or something?  Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

create user wizard login error message dont show in a message box?

i am using create user wizard and capturing other information within content template when a new user

registers. Some of the textboxes are binded to required field validators.

there is a validation control on the page and ShowMessage box is True.

If they dont complete some of the text boxes then the message box pops Up with the error message.

It does not however include information errors like "User already exists" or Email address already exists

from the create user wizard membership  UserName and Password Textboxes

is it possilbe to hook all of these up so I get one message box with all errors including membership ones?

SSIS Import/Export Wizard: "Unexpected Unrecoverable Error"

For whatever reason, whenever the SSIS Import/Export Wizard needs to display an error message, it throws up "Unexpected Unrecoverable Error" instead. The three buttons - Abort, Retry, and Ignore - all cause the wizard to close. I see some activity in Process Monitor that looks like DTSWizard.exe is probing around for some System.Web assemblies, and not finding them. I'm running 2008 SP1 on Win 7 x86, and I've reinstalled the client tools and Integration Services. Anybody else seen this issue? Should I file a report on Connect?

Sharepoint 2010 COnfiguration Wizard Error Step 3 of 10

I am trying to install Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows 2008 R2 Hyper V Instance.  The database is SQL Server 2008 R2.  All them are RTM I am getting this error Failed to Create the configuration Database An exception of type Syste.InvalidCastException was thrown.  Additional exception information: Unable to cast object of type "Microsoft.IdentityModel.Configuration.MicrosoftIdentityModelSection' to type "Microsoft.IdentityModel.Configuration.MicrosoftIdentityModelSection' to diagnose the problem, review the logs at so after reviewing the logs this is what I find Resource retrieved id PostSetupConfigurationFailedEventLog is Configuration of SharePoint Products failed.   This is the error from the event logs Log Name:      Application Source:        SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard Date:          4/26/2010 11:30:09 PM Event ID:      104 Task Category: None Level:         Error Keywords:      Classic User:          N/A Computer:      jedicouncil.endor.local Description: Failed to create the configuration database. RPC Unavailable error when configuring SPF2010 on DMZ

I'm having trouble configuring SharePoint Foundation 2010 in a DMZ environment.  My SharePoint web and application server is on the DMZ, along with an Active Directory Read-Only Domain Controller.  My target database server is on the internal network, as is the AD domain control referenced by the RODC. When running the SharePoint Configuration Wizard, I answer all of the questions and it starts chugging along, creating an admin database, but the progress bar never advances past "task 3 of 10" before failing with the error: "An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown.  Additional exception information: An error occurred while getting information about the user netportal at server mydomain.net: The RPC server is unavailable" The RPC service is running on the web server, database server, and RODC. Is there some sort of temporary opening of AD access that needs to occur in order for SharePoint to successfully configure?  Should I configure the web/application server inside the corporate network, then move it to the DMZ afterwards? I'm thinking that SharePoint is having a problem with the RODC, but I'm not sure what. Has anyone else run into a situation like this?

Package Migration Wizard error -- Index was out of range

I am unable to migrate any DTS packages, from a SQL Server 2000 package, from a structured storage file, or from a DTS package imported into SQL2005 (Developer Edition, 32 bit).  Running the Package Migration Wizard, every time I get to the List Package screen, i get the error below.  I haven't found any other mention of this so far.  Anyone else seen this error or have suggestions?"Index was out of range. Error configuration Wizard WSS3 "The Language is not supported on teh server"

The following error happens during step 2 of the Configuration Wizard.

****** Error MSG from log******
Task configdb has failed with an unknown exception
Exception: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The language is not supported on the server. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8102005E): The language is not supported on the server.

If I start the Wizard again I now get:
Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: Windows SharePoint Services configuration infrastructure is not initialized.  You must wait until completion before joining another server to the farm.

If I delete the databases and start again I get the first error msg again.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled WSS3  SP2 numerous times.
The DBServer is the same machine.

TFS 2010 RC is also running on this server.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

error message customization in create user wizard, change password wizard

Hi All,

Create User Wiard and Change Password Wizard contain error message literals. They display error messages when a user is trying to sign up with an username that already exists and so on.

These error messages are pre-set. How can they be customized. In particular, how can they be adjusted depending on the language.

How is this usually best achieved?

Thanks a lot.

Need help with configuring simple search - Getting 404 Error

I am trying to setup search such that I have 3 scopes: This Site, All Sites, and People. I have got to this point by selecting "Use custom scopes. Display richer results using the following Search Center: /SearchCenter/Pages" in Site Settings > Search Settings - Then, when I search on All Sites or People, I get a 404 Not Found. Does this mean I have to create some sort of Search site (aka SearchCenter)?

Please advise.

Error when running configuration wizard for sharepoint 2007 on windows 2008 r2

I am trying to install sharepoint 2007 on windows 2008 r2,the setup file ran ok but when I ran the configuration wizard I received this error "Failed to start the database service MSSQL$OfficeServers. Repair this product
by selecting it from the Add/Remove Programs menu."

configure distribution wizard does not appear on SSMS menu when trying to create new publication

Server A SQL 2005 sp2 Standard Ed. (9.00.3042.00)

Server B SQL 2005 sp2 Standard Ed. (9.00.3068.00)

A replication was setup on these two server a while back by someone else. Server A is the publisher and Server B is the distributor and subscriber. The replication was not working and was told it have never worked.

I was requested to rebuild the replication with local distributor, ie, moving distributor from Server B to Server A.

1. deleted the subscriber from Server B using SSMS.

2. deleted the publication from Server A using SSMS.

3. dropped the distributor using the following script on Server B

                         EXEC sp_dropdistributor @no_checks= 1

I noticed distribution database was gone from Server B. Both publication and subscription were disappeared on SSMS from respective server.

When I tried to create new publication, the "Configure Distribution Wizard" did not appeared as I expected, and the creation failed eventually with the following error.

Creating Publication

- Creating Publication 'Areporting' (Error)

Failed to open package error from SSIS Install Wizard

I'm unable to install a package using the install wizard.  The packages are located in the same directory as the *.SSISDeploymentManifest.  I've been able to do this install on one Server machine, but it won't work on my other Server.  I'm unable to find any setup differences other than one is using SQL2005 32bit and the one that doesn't work is using SQL2005 64bit.

Below is the error I get...
