One report >> Multiple Linked Reports in different folders?

I love Linked Reports in SSRS because of my ability to change one report in one project and post changes to one location on my SSRS server and then have those changes take effect in my linked report.  Today however I was asked to make one of those reports which is already liniked elsewhere to be linked to two locations and I was dismayed to find out that there is a chance that its limited to one linked report for any source report. Can someone tell me this isn't so and show me a way around this?  I don't want to have to post my RDL to multiple locations unless its absolutely necessary. I'm using SQL Server 2008, SSRS2008, Standard Edition. Thanks, Keith

Using ReportViewer for multiple reports by way of radio buttons

Hi all, Thanks for taking the time to read over my scenario.  I am using one ReportViewer with already established SQL Stored Procedures connected to three report files (*.rdlc).  There are three radio buttons which are to be associated with each report that needs to be displayed in the ReportViewer.  Here is an example if a radio button is selected:ReportViewer1.Reset() Dim rds As Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportDataSource rds = New Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportDataSource ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources.Clear() If RadioButtonList1.SelectedIndex = 0 Then rds.DataSourceId = ObjectDataSource1.ID rds.Name = "spEx1" rds.Value = ObjectDataSource1 ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources.Add(rds) ReportViewer1.LocalReport.ReportPath = "Ex1Report.rdlc" ... The ReportViewer works for the first radio button selection but then for the other selection I get the following error: A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source 'spEx1' I'm not sure exactly what is going on or where it's still tied to the first data source.  Any help would be great!  Thank you.

SSRS 2008: Multiple Sub-Reports with conditional visibility in one List control

MainReport: a List containing two Sub-Reports. The data of the List only has two rows. Set the visibility of the sub-report based on the data.

SubReport1: a textbox showing "Sub Report 1"

SubReport2: a textbox showing "Sub Report 2"

I expect to see SubReport1 in Page 1 and SubReport2 in Page 2.

But I only see SubReport1 in Page 1 and Page 2 is a blank page.

These reports work in SSRS 2005, but not in SSRS 2008.

Report Definition:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

Multiple reports straight to pdf (SSRS 2008)

Hello, I have successfully written code to generate a server report straight to a pdf document. I did this using Report.Render(...) and then writing the result with Response.BinaryWrite. This works fine. The thing I would like to do now is this: On the webpage the user sees a tree with about 20-30 reports on it. I would like the user be able to select which reports he wants to see (using the tree check boxes) and then when he hits print one pdf document is generated with all the selected reports on it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Programatically Exporting Multiple Reports

Hi currently I am programmatically exporting multiple reports to a pdf via the ssrs web services using C#.Net.  It exports a single report just fine, I was wondering if there was a way to export multiple reports?  I tried block copying the byte arrays from all the reports into a single byte array, but it only displays the last report.  Is there any solution for this?

Multiple database support with Entity Framework

One of the features introduced in Entity Framework is being database independent. Which mean each database provider can support Entity Framework by implementing its provider.

This feature allows you build applications independent from the underplaying database provider. In this post I'm going to show how to build an application that support multiple databases using same conceptual model made by Entity Framework.

Multiple Column Dropdownlist for the ASP.NET DataGrid

Based on my previous control "Multiple Column DropDownList for ASP.NET", I received many emails asking for the same control to be used in the DataGrid for web applications. Here we go.. This control can be used as the regular MS DropDownList in the DataGrid and also as a regular dropdownlist. It has all the properties, like DataTextField, DataValueField, DataSource, SelectedIndex etc. The download file contains the samples both in VB.NET and C#. In this sample, I have used the Northwind database of SQL Server.
