I am using VS2010 Pro in 64 bit Windows 7. When I add a new item to a folder in an ASP.NET MVC2 project, VS frequently crashes with a "Visual Studio has stopped working" error and then closes down. If I re-open the project the item is not visible in the MVC project folder, (but it is visible to windows explorer although I think it's corrupted). If I then try to add the item again, it warns me that it already exists and asks to overwrite, choosing yes to overwrite usually works OK. When adding an .edmx item it is more problematic, I can't overwrite it but because I know that there actually is a file in the folder, (although not visible and albeit corrupted), I can add it as an existing item and then choose "update model from database" to get it to work. This error is happening more and more frequently.
I'm using the AsyncFileUpload Extender inVS2010 Beta2. When I include the control in a page derived from a master - even a stripped down basic one does not work. The exact same setup works in a page not derived from a master. The error I get when I attempt to upload any file is: Unhandled Exception: the attached file is invalid. I have simplified the entire project down to the default created automatically with the AsyncFileUpload control added:
<%@ Page Title="Home Page" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Site.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="UploadTest._Default" %><%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="asp" %><asp:Content ID="HeaderContent" runat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="HeadContent"></asp:Content><asp:Content ID="BodyContent" runat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent"> <
I've got a WPF solution with 5 projects in it. For some reason...the XAML intellisense quit working and it's driving me nuts. All other intellisense is working just fine (C# for code behinds). I am "not" using any network shares as I saw on other forum posts
that this might be the problem. Again...this solution was working fine before. Problem exists where ever I take it XP, W7....Please help!!!
I've tried this method in my code behind to try and validate that the Fileupload control has a file or not. I get the error message the the event "Server Validate" cannot be found. Can anyone tell why? Thanks.
Public Sub CustomValidator1_ServerValidate(ByVal source As Object, ByVal args As System.Web.UI.WebControls.ServerValidateEventArgs) Handles CustomValidator1.ServerValidate
' Get file name Dim uploadAvatar As FileUpload = DirectCast(AdvertisementForm.FindControl("uploadAvatar"), FileUpload) Dim UploadFileName As String = uploadAvatar.PostedFile.FileName If UploadFileName = "" Then ' There is no file selected args.IsValid = False Else Dim Extension As String = UploadFileName.Substring(UploadFileName.L
I have this code that hides a column in a gridview. (The column houses another nested gridview).
Protected Sub GridView1_RowCommand(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewCommandEventArgs) Handles GridView1.RowCommand
If e.CommandName = "Select" Then
If GridView1.Columns(0).Visible = False Then
GridView1.Columns(0).Visible = True
GridView1.Columns(0).Visible = False
The trouble is that if I click the select link on one row that action to hide is carried out on all rows. How can I set this up so that it only hides the row that is selected?

Trying to remote debug ASP website from VS2010 Pro to Windows Server 2003 machine. Specifically, trying to debug a Web Service, but breakpoint says, "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document." This happens for all compiled code though. I have read this is due to missing PDB files and the work around is to manually copy them, as noted here. Problem is, I cannot find any PDB files for my project, except referenced libraries, which I can remote debug.
This is beyond frustrating. I migrated my code from VS2008 .Net3.5 to VS2010 .Net4.0 to take advantage of the inherent multithreading framework. Debugging works when using local host and was stable until deployment to test server.
Thanks in advance,
