Integrating Yahoo Messenger Archives into Sharepoint

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 06, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
We're using Sharepoint 2010 and everyone currently has Yahoo Messenger with Messenger Archives enabled. Is there any way of connecting to the yahoo network and storing all those conversations centrally and integrating this into sharepoint? We eventually want to make a customer portal where one webpart will show all the conversations with a particular customer. I'm happy to switch to any Instant Messenging program (Office Communicator looks hopeful) but all our customers are on the Yahoo Network so that is a must. Ideally I'd prefer to do as much as possible out-of-the-box. Thanks Programs I have researched: Office Communicator 2007 -> I know it stores the conversation history in Outlook and so I'm assuming exchange server. Is there any mileage here? Trillian Astra -> It stores its archives in XML files on the user's machine. I don't know if that is an angle a developer could take?

Integrating a Legacy Web Application in SharePoint

This month we will continue with the theme of deploying Microsoft's SharePoint as a company intranet by describing a method for integrating a legacy Web application inside a SharePoint site.

In many companies the intranet site is not just a home page with announcements. It houses Web applications used by many different departments. In last month's article, I built a page to search the employee table in Northwind (the sample database included in Microsoft's SQL Server). This month, I will move the Web pages used to add/remove records from the table into the SharePoint intranet.

Integrating the Office Communication Server Archiving Server with a sharepoint dashboard?

Is this possible? I'd like all our communications (which are currently through the yahoo network) to be logged in a central archiving server. This I understand is OOB. I'd then like these archives to be accessible through a share point page. I want to build a CRM dashboard such that when a company is selected it will show all the correspondence on one page with any employee with that company automatically. I'll ask on the sharepoint forums too. Thanks Jamie

my client has a website driven by Sharepoint CMS, and I'd like to create a SQL server database to dynamically populate some of these pages. Will the Sharepoint platform allow me to do this? Is there a resource somewhere on the topic???

Yahoo - Google Apps Email Authentication in SharePoint 2010

There is idea about the use of the Form Based Authentication by the Google Apps Email ID.

Like I am employee of the ABC company which has Google Apps and Member of the Developer Team

so My ID is kashyap@abc.com in Google Apps.

So Is it possible to authenticate coming user to site with the ABC's Employee via Google Apps?

We can also think about oAuth Authentication.

How can we configure the authentication?

I need Ideas and suggetions

Thank You

Integrating Sharepoint Foundation 2010 and Search Server Express

I've been searching for ways to do this but I haven't come up with anything.  Surely this is a very common need/want.  Basically I want to use Sharepoint Foundation 2010 but I would like to run Search Server Express in the same installation.  Additionally instead of going to a dedicated search page and then searching, I'd like to add the Search Server Express search functionality as a Web Part to the Sharepoint Foundation home page.  Is there any documented procedures to this?  If not how have you done it?

Integrating Silverlight 4.0 with SharePoint 2007

I created a simple Sharepoint web part which hosts a silverlight application. I created a user control which loads the usercontrol.ascx from the layouts path and loads it up.

What are the trade-offs of integrating SharePoint 2007 with Oracle HR vs. Active Directory?

We had implemented SharePoint 2007 for our intranet and used AD as the system of record to authenticate our global users. We currently have content, e.g. Departments itemized within a SharePoint list, employees by department w/in a PDF, global/regional employee phone list in Excel, and org chart in PDF from Org Plus output for our US users. We have a business request to change the system of record from AD to Oracle HR for US users so that HR does not have to redundantly update Oracle HR then the SharePoint content items. Can you tell me what are the integration trade-offs, challenges, or benefits that an Oracle HR to SharePoint 2007 would entail?

Changing the graphics on the home page of a SharePoint site

When you create a site in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services by using the default Team Site template, the home page includes two default graphics. A Windows SharePoint Services graphic appears in the body of the page, and a picture of a house in a circle appears near the site title. You can change these graphics to customize your site. Changing the smaller graphic requires a Windows SharePoint Services compatible Web page editor
