WSS Language Pack download

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 06, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
I performed a search at technet for "language pack sharepoint" and clicked on the second result: Download details: Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack  With this language template pack you can create SharePoint sites in languages other than the default language selected at installation. www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=36EE1BF0-652C-4E38-B247-F29B3EEFA048 However, the link is broken. I called Microsoft Support and they said it was working ok, but then said it wasn't working ok and to check back again in 15 minutes. I've been checking for several days now with no luck. Can anyone advise where else I can get the WSS language pack download? (I have WSS SP1, MOSS, MOSS SP1...just need the WSS) Thanks for looking

Cant uninstall Framework Language Pack on Windows 7 Professional

Hi,I have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed on a Windows 7 Professional that has been upgraded from a Windows Vista business. I have a Danish Language Pack installed (Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Language Pack SP1 - Danish). This was installed under Vista. Now I have upgraded to Windows 7 Professional where that language pack is unsupported apparantly. I'm trying to get help in a Windows 7 forum to change the OS language but it seems to fail because multiple MUI's is unsupported in Windows 7 Professional. So I hope someone here can help me remove the Language Pack or something like that...When I try to uninstall or reinstall the Language Pack I get an error saying that the OS isn't supported. What I want is to have my exceptions in English - not Danish. I cannot remove the Framework Language Pack using "Windows Installer Clean Up" because it isn't listed. How can I remove this language pack? Or alternatively instruct the Framework to give me Exceptions in the "en-US" localization?--

Is it impossible to install Language pack to WSS 3 x64?

Hi guys, I need to install language pack to WSS3 x64 and it seems like impossible task! First of all a link on this page doesn't work: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/sharepoint/bb400747.aspx   After a while I've found this page: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=318D8562-58BD-4329-B1F6-F1941A38BC7F&displaylang=en Looks like it's exectly what I'm looking for but when I try to install it on a server I get  an error message: This product requires a prior installation of a 2007 Microsoft Office system server product. Am I missing something? PS I have WSS 3 x64 with last updates installed on WIndows 2008 R2

Deploy reusable Workflow on SharePoint Farm with other language pack

Hi all, I created a reusable workflow on my development system with no language pack installed. I saved the workflow as a template and saved the generated wsp. After that I added the wsp to a SharePoint farm at out customer (with the dutch language pack installed) and deployed the wps. Everything was looking good, but the WSP didn't creae a feature which I could activate, so I was not able to use the Workflow. Should it be possible to create a reusable workflow on a system with no langualge pack installed and install it on another system with a language pack installed? Johan.

Problem with language pack and navigation to pages

We have installed the Norwegian language pack for Sharepoint 2010 RTM, as explained in this technet article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262108.aspx

Everything seemed to be working as excepted, except for some page navigation which is not using the correct language files. We are registerring some web parts in the onet.xml, and the code below are causing some problems.

 <Module Name="MyWebpart" Url="$Resources:osrvcore,List_Pages_UrlName;" Path="">

The "$Resources:osrvcore, List_Pages_UrlName" retrieves 'Pages' from cmscore.resx. The problem is that the Norwegian translation for the List_Pages_UrlName is located in the cmscore.nb-NO.resx. Do I have to replace the original cmscore.resx with the language specific version? I thought Sharepoint would handle this for me. Or is there some step I have missed?

Microsoft's Collaborative Application Markup Language (CAML) Loop

discovered an interesting error recently while working with Microsoft's Collaborative Application Markup Language (CAML) that, surprisingly, had received no ink. Partly what surprises me about this is that the error may require you to rewrite large sections of your code if you haven't previously considered this SharePoint limitation. I'll start with some context, but first of all the error is:

Download and Share Visual Studio Color Schemes

The good news is that Visual Studio allows you to completely customize the editor background and text colors to whatever you want - allowing you to tweak them to create the experience that is "just right" for your eyes and personality. You can then optionally export/import your color scheme preferences to an XML file via the Tools->Import and Export Settings menu command.

How to Localize Windows Forms and Change the Language at Runtime

Localization is the process of customizing your application to a particular language, culture or locale. Visual Studio provides support for localizing Windows Forms with much ease. In this article, we will see how to localize windows forms and give the user the ability to change to his preferred language at runtime.
When you run a localized application, the appearance is determined by two culture values. The UICulture property is used to specify which resource files will be loaded for the form. The Culture property, on the other hand, determines how strings such as dates, numerals, and currency amounts are formatted.
Let us see the steps required to create a localized form. You can then expand this example and adopt the same approach for the rest of the forms in your project
