Hi All, After further investigation I found in the log file a couple of these entries: "An exception occured while committing IIS configuration changes: Keyset does not exist (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80090016) ca46ad74-a24e-49f8-ab81-6453b387f93b" Standalone vpc, Win2008R2, SQL2008R2 all pre-reqs was installed successfully and SP2010 was installed with no problems. Publishing site template saved using /_layouts/savetmpl.aspx

A trick we used in MOSS 2007 doesn't seem to work in SharePoint 2010 although it seemed to work for someone who asked the same question in this forum.  We know publishing site do not have the "Save as site template" as an option in the site settings so we used <site>/_layouts/savetmpl.aspx to save the site template.  Unfortunately, new site created using the saved template is throwing a 404 error.  And the site was actually created (can see in View All Site Content).  We need to be able to easily create sub-sites with the same look and feel and set of document libraries/lists.  Any advice?

How do I get where the exception occured

I'm handling exceptions in the Application_Error() method in Global.asax but ex.Source is not giving me much. I want to know where the error occured i.e. /folderName/pageName.aspx.

Also I use lots of user controls so getting aspx name may not even be enough. Is there a way to get the name of object where the exception occured i.e. class name, user control name, etc.

The file '/UrlRewrite.aspx' does not exist

Here's the back-story:

We have a big old app that's been recently migrated to .net 4 (from 3.5). While we're doing this we decide to move it to a new, more powerful server, because we expect a lot of growth in the near future. (server is running windows server 2008 r2)

With the .net 4 version on the new server we keep getting this error saying urlrewrite doesn't exist. Any ideas or aditional info I should give?

Here's what gets logged:

The file '/UrlRewrite.aspx' does not exist.

HTML comments in ASPX file causes exception

Hi, I'm new to ASP.NET MVC 2 but I've done webforms programming. In my first MVC2 test project in VS 2010 I got an error that surprised me. Code inside HTML comment tags are obviously parsed and sometimes even causes exceptions. This seems to me like a strange break with a programming paradigm that is as old as programming itself.

The code section in question is a form inside a user control.

Code that runs OK:

   <% using (Html.BeginForm("Index", "Search")) {%>
            <input id="SearchText" name="SearchText" type="text" />
            <input type="submit" value="Search..." />
    <% } %>

Code that causes YSOD:

   <% using (Html.BeginForm("Index", "Search")) {%>
            <!--<asp:TextBox ID="AccountText" runat="server" Width="226px"></asp:TextBox>-->
            <input id="SearchText" name="SearchText" type="text" />
            <input type="submit" value="Search..." />
    <% } %>

The error message given is Control 'c
