Sorting Gridview using Jquery with ASP.NET

I want to show how to sorting a gridview using a Jquery in ASP.NET, it is a flexible client-side table sorting. We have known that Jquery is a new kind of Javascript Library. You can find detail of Jquery in this site http://jquery.com/ there are lot of example with documentation and also allow free download a latest version.

Sorting Gridview using Jquery with ASP.NET

used table sorter plug-in which has written by Christian Bach can found http://tablesorter.com/docs/ . It is really cool plug-in and user can allow to download and customization as their wish.

I test this example in Visual Studio 2005. Some of other requirement needed is download a latest version of Jquery from official website and table sorter plug-in which can found as I mention above website.

jQuery & WCF Data Service - PUT Update - Rejected with 405 Method Not Allowed

I am writing a sample jQuery/WCF Data Service app to utilize OData, however I am getting a status code 405 - Method not allowed when I attempt to update an entity with a PUT Http method. I have configured my WCF Data Service as follows: public static void InitializeService(DataServiceConfiguration config) { config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("jCredentials_PINs", EntitySetRights.All); config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("jCredentials_PINTree", EntitySetRights.All); //config.SetServiceOperationAccessRule("MyServiceOperation", ServiceOperationRights.All); config.DataServiceBehavior.MaxProtocolVersion = DataServiceProtocolVersion.V2; } I am attempting to update the jCredentials_PINs table. My jQuery call to update the WCF Data Service is as follows:function UpdatePIN(selectedTreeNode, updateObj) { var url = dataService + "/jCredentials_PINs(guid'" + selectedTreeNode.get_value() + "')"; var json = JSON.stringify(updateObj); $.ajax({ url: url, data: json, type: "PUT", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", timeout: 10000, dataType: "json", success: AjaxPINUpdateSuccess, error: AjaxPINUpdateFailure }); } function AjaxPINUpdateSu

Jquery - Ajax Get Method

I have a web service:

public string GridAjx(int Input1, int Input2)

I would like to use Jquery to make a link that reads GridAjx function using AJAX.
To retrieve the hidden parameters.
I found a solution through:
<a href="" rel="ID"> </ a>
But it would be only one parameter.
I need to pass two parameters.
Thanks for the advice.

How to call a JQuery Sorting Function ?

Hi everyone

I found the following sorting code. People are saying the code is working.

But I don't know how to call it so that it is not working for me.  Please

let me know how to call the JQuery function.

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    <script src="Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">

 * @param Function comparator:
 * Exactly the same behaviour as [1,2,3].sort(comparator)
 * @param Function getSortable
 * A function that should return the element that is
 * to be sorted. The comparator will run on the
 * current collection, but you may want the actual
 * resulting sort to occur on a parent or another
 *   associated element.
 *   E.g. $('td').sortElements(comparator, function(){
 *      return this.parentNode;
 *   })
 * The <td>'s parent (<tr>) will be sorted instead
 *   of the <td> itself.
jQuery.fn.sortElements = (funct

Returning reference value from AJAX web method call on JQuery

I got this flag that I am checking for authenticated signed in users:

    <script type="text/javascript">

        function flag() {
            var _flag = "False";

jQuery post to an action method

I hope this is the right section to post this, as it does seem to be an MVC related issue. I'm trying to use the jQuery.post() function to post an object to an action method, but for some reason the nested objects aren't initialised properly when they're received by the action method.

Here's my javascript code:

var data = {
    Id: 10,
    User: {
        Id: 5
$.post("/Home/SaveCompany", data, function (data) {

And my action method:

public ActionResult SaveCompany(Company company)
    if (company.Id > 0) {
    } else {
    return Json(new { id = company.Id });

company.Id has a value of 10, but company.User.Id is 0. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I've not named any properties incorrectly, by the way.

JQuery Autocomplete Call WCF Service Method

I am trying to use the below code to call a wcf service method for Autocomplete functionality in a TextBox.  I have written the following query:

$(document).ready(function () {
            $("#<%= txtCompany.ClientID %>").autocomplete(http://localhost/PieScore/PieScore.Application.Services/EmployeeService.svc/GetTestCompanyList, {
                dataType: 'json',
                parse: function (data) {
                    var items = data.d;
                    var parsed = [];
                    for (var i = 0; i < items.length; i++)
                        parsed[i] = {

GridView Confirmation Box Using JQuery BlockUI in asp.net

JQuery is the most popular JavaScript library. One of the main reasons for its fame is the plugin architecture. Anyone can create a separate library that leverage the JQuery library. In this article we are going to look at the BlockUI library which is used to block the user screen while performing a task.

Thinking about new C# method prototypes: object as dictionary

I recently had to write a small Flickr API. I know many .Net API for Flickr already exist but I needed one for a Silverlight application. Whatever, it's only about building some querystrings so I did it by myself. It's been an opportunity to think again about a classical question: how to pass parameters to a method ?

Imagine you have a generic method to call some Flickr functions.

AJAX GridView Paging and Sorting using C# in ASP.Net

To enable the GridView Paging and Sorting to update the GridView Data without refreshing the ASP.Net web page AJAX Extension controls are used. UpdatePanel is used to hold the GridView control that triggers the events for the controls placed inside it. By Default UpdatePanel triggers the asynchronous postbacks for its child controls.

jQuery $(document).ready() and ASP.NET Ajax asynchronous postback

Many call it the ASP.NET jQuery postback problem, but using the technique below should make it no problem anymore. $(document).ready() isn't called after an asynchronous postback. What this means? You lose the functionality that should be executed within $(document).ready() after an UpdatePanel rendered its contents after an asynchronous postback.

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.
